It was heavy for one, I love the light but the pressure pad setup sucks. I was using some pressure pad kit to mount it to the rails and it fell off and I'm just like "No, I can't trust this". So I'm going back to just the standard tail cap I just haven't had time to fiddle with it to get all the positioning right. Plus with the GG&G grip I'd rather remount it once I have that in so I know I'm comfortable with the entire setup. I may get one of the those drop down rail attachements too. So I can grip the VFG with my left hand and reach under the handguard with my thumb to activate the tail cap.

If you are well versed in acogs I would speak of them. So onto the point of variables. Go to a cabelas or bass pro and check them out. Some of them are not true 1 power. Figure out if you like first or second focal plane and just make your call. Personally I would go with the Acog of I were you. Simply because I like to take the sure thing of what I know rather than try out something unknown, especially when it comes out to the tune of a grand plus

300blk is basically a 7.62x39 that works well in an AR. Basically just a necked up 223 case with a .308 bullet on top. Slightly better ballistics than an AK and carries more energy at distance than a .223. It suppresses very well and was designed to partially replace use of subsonic 9mm

This is probably the best thing you could do. An AR15 or MCX will absolutely get the job done because it really comes down to shot placement, but the battle rifle will do the job the best.

Yeah it's really not a big deal, just would have like the slaved lasers + illumination. At any rate, it's more than good enough until I've actually got some good NVGs, at which time I can upgrade if I really feel the need.

I can always rig up an IR filter for the surefire if I feel I need the illumination.
