warden is so fucking sexy edition
old thread >>27792816
who cares, gear is dumb, ar15 is love.
its the G-Code Scorpion stuff
Why don't you like it?
I just installed a $60 NSR ripoff. Ask me anything.
>dust cover closed
I mean I guess, it's also useful for shooting out of a vehicle, prone, urban prone and such.
Good deal for a retro build?
I dun want to repost too much, but here's my rifle after being cleaned this weekend. November should be a good month for shooting, so I might actually have photos my gear together.
>every operator uses the warden
>buy one now!
whats funny is is looks and attaches like a pseudo supressor, so all the mall ninjas eat it up.
however, it has just enough practical use to for supporters to claim its legitimacy
in any case, it seems like blast shields are the new 'it' accessories.
it's nice to just "turn off" the brake whenever
Even helps on a flash hider
It's either a Steiner or LDI, DBAL i2 maybe.
Nope. Probably no less than 600.
Mine is a PEQ15.
Either a DBAL i2 or DBAL a3. Probably an i2 from the looks of it. No, can't get one for $200, you're looking at $700-$800 for one.
>U fukkin wot m8?
>get a DBAL-D2 they said
>its the best they said
>your scar is plastic you wont notice the weight difference they said
regrets, might have to make it more of a stationary shooting thing, but stationary hogs and yotes are not
I got the CQBL-1 so I could just take my IR illuminator off during the day and only put it on when I go hunting at night. CQBL-1 is small and manageable, so not much of an issue having it on full time.
>mfw no one hates on my rifle
I always see older guys with them at the range struggling to zero since they don't settle the prism after making adjustments.
I think its a lot of "I want an ACOG but 4x isn't enough for me"
Finally finished building and testing form 1 can for spr just need to park it
y-your a poorfag your gun a shit
I wouldn't mind a blast shield for ASR mounts, especially on the SBR. I'm just not sold on the aesthetics of SiCo's solution.
>G-Code Scorpion stuff
Ooooh I thought thewy were heavy. I've shot a Dissipator that I didn't like due to front heaviness, then I take it back. I would like a Warden. They really look nice.
and i found out after a mag dump test it seems to tighten itself had to clamp it in a vise and use the gun as leverage to get it off
Who's got the sexiest quad around?
I've been wanting to go mlok but for what I'm trying to achieve that severely limits my options.
I'm really digging the black rain ordinance.
flash photography sucks at night
DD makes the sexiest quad rails
most likely one time
probably just like stickers
seems like one time use.
I'm sure if you peeled them carefully you could use them again roughly the next time. they're like stickers so your adhesive would wear pretty quick I'd say.
I have the literal first commercial release of the new Danial Defense .308 arriving at my shop tomorrow. Pictures will come.
As in, literally the first production ready example to be released to dealers.
you can tell us how much of it is proprietary
i had one directly over a brake for a little while
It looks like a standard AR-10 build from the pictures DD sent me. Some funky barrel nut and dust cover... But besides that, seems spec.
+1 on SF lights over brakes, I can understand protecting the PEQ though.
KAC and Centurion of course.
I've always been partial to the looks of the URX 2
The C4 is ugly bruh
CMR's one of my favorite rails out there, at least the older version before they made it ugly with the lightening cuts, but the C4 is hideous
DD is best quad rail, followed by KAC, these are the facts
I'd get on board with KAC.
C4 is magnificent and light. Doesn't look as cool or feel quite as good in the hands as the RIS II, I'm not too sour to admit that. Didn't like the idea of having to hack off a pinned muzzle device to remove it though.
Hands down the best drop-in money can buy.
If it was any other rail than the RIS II, I would tell you to eat shit. But it's not, and I won't. Can't hate on that block II goodness.
i did spend stupid amounts of money on the FSP
My love for the rifle has been rekindled with the NF. Now I just need to sell or trade the Elcan.
>tfw someone wanted $500 for their FSP RIS II
>mfw I got mine for $220
you can't hide the pain, mr fox
the grapes are delicious
>it's played out
thank goodness it's not illegal to be delusional
nothing duracoat can't fix.
also, with the stock fully extended the T1 is the perfect height to use with my PVS-14.
I'll have to test this out in the future
What kind of barrel do you have on there?
I wish the RIS II GL/SSC were available to us mortals.
M4 FSP. It's going to be a kinda-sorta-but-not-really Block II.
BCM SOCOM M4 upper
Aero Gen 2 lower
CAR stock at least at first
Surefire SF3P or Warcomp
Probably a BCM pistol grip because I already have one and fuck using an A2 if I don't have to
This is the basic graphic that helps some people

more stolen military property for my collection.
Cadex makes a modern one, dunno if youguys can get that down there

Didn't get any straight answers last thread so I'm posting again. I'm about to get a ~$1500 bonus at work and I want to buy an AR. I've been looking at DPMS and the Sig Sauer M400. Any other guns I should be considering under $1500? I don't really want to build my own so I'm looking to buy a complete gun.
Not solid yet, need to weigh what I want and if it would be easier to trade or push for cash. If you want to offer something let me know at pb4ugolol at gmail

how much antifreeze did you drink today?
I'm trying to slowly turn it into one.
>Also, no Texans or Floridians
Oh shit I wanna tear off his vest, rip open his pants and engulf his entire smegma covered microcock with my mouthpussy, then once he's hot and ready i'll bend over and spread my gaping boipussi for his waiting meatshank. After he instantly cums in me with his virgin girl dick i'll lick it all up and let him do it over and over again infinitely because his lust never fails.. so hot oh my god

Agreed. This is my advice too. Join the TS
The only laser I know of that has good quality and is not to expensive would be the perst-4 made by zenitco, here is a link for those curious:
Dude you already own a suppressor. Save your money (that you don't have.)
>settle the prism after making adjustments
Am I mistaken thinking that that basically means percussive maintenance every time you adjust your zero?
That's exciting as hell man, great to hear. I've had visions of 13/16x16 and 3/4 NPT threads and Maglight solvent trap kits running though my dreams lately.
Keep us updated, that shit is cool as hell.
This guy seems to sell good shit for decent prices. It's just vinyl stickers more or less, I wouldn't expect any of these types of stickers to work more than once, maybe twice.
Goddamnit Quinceañera Bitch, you make me miss my work gun.
You should actaulyl buy his Noveske.
surefire makes some pretty badass cans. they are built tough as fuck, so tough that i have yet to break it and so well made that i have had no reason to dremel it at all.
some stencils, like kryptec, are just too thin/fragile to reuse.
What armorer's kit or multitool does /arg/ recommend for new AR owners? I have a lower parts kit coming in soon and I want to have a decent toolset. I plan on buying a complete upper rather than building it from scratch, so I'm not sure if I'll need anything to work on that.
Local company lower. Cmmg parts kit, kns pins, BCM QD point end plate.
Palmetto slickside upper. BCM gunfighter medium, MBUS, Samson EX rail. Adams arms piston kit and one piece BCG. Streamlight HL3 light.
Whaddya think /k/?
that rifle is an abortion
For installing an LPK you only really need like, a punch or two and a small hammer. Arfcom actually has a stupid easy tutorial for this.
If you can't afford a small hammer, a rock would be ok too.
And that's being spendy with it. A finishing nail could easily supplant the punches if needed.
A mid range set of roll pin punches (I went low end and regret it), and a cheap hammer with removable heads (brass, copper, rubber, nylon), rare earth magnet, and tweezers.
Everyone should own a set of screw drivers and hex keys as well.
Those will be your best friends for not just AR's, but most firearms. Although >>27798131
is fine if you want to do it cheap.
Got my new upper from UPS today. Clean it, pack a range bag, get hyped for range day.
The fucking handguard is cracked, now I have to deal with midwayUSA for fixing it.
Anyone have experience dealing with midway for damaged in transit items?
They don't offer any real improvements, and create problems of their own. If you want a short stroke piston gun, get a gun that was designed around a piston system, not a gun that had a piston system shoehorned in to solve problems that don't exist.
even if youre only going to be using it for the catle nut, get one of these
add a decent punch and small hammer and thats it really.
take care with the trigger guard, make sure you support the underside when youre driving the roll pin in
They're a stupid attempt to fix problems that aren't there, and they create actual problems because you're shoehorning a system into a rifle that wasn't originally designed for it.
They're a perfect litmus test for showing who's a complete idiot that doesn't know how guns work.
I've heard that the castle nut requires a good wrench and that some even use a torque wrench. Is this all just autism or will I need a special wrench?
Also, is it necessary to stake the castle nut? I've heard some people say it's definitely needed, others say it's okay to use loctite instead.
The light mount is magpul, and is the only mount I could find that even remotely felt good on the rifle. Tried the vtac mount, feels cheap as shit. The piston kit is really just because I've never run one.
The piston gun does run a shit ton cleaner than my DI rifle, which SHOULD mean it would run longer with the same amount of rounds thrown at it.
What problems dies it create? The only problems I've seen are the BCG rubbing in the buffer tube, which has been remedied.
I forgot about the castle nut. I just got a cheap, one-toothed one like this. I think staking is unnecessary, and even locktite I don't think is needed. I went handtight and it's still rock solid over 1k rounds later.
shit man, just put a bit of superglue on it and flip the upper and lower half around and call it a day.
then hit up arf at your earliest convenience and get a set sent to you for $10
speaking of which, my friends and i were talking about this very tool the other day. what does the opening on this tool do?
people from the internet tell me it helps remove 1911 barrel bushing, but does it do anything AR related?
Besides the extra weight, recoil impulse, carrier tilt, etc...
You're likely going to have premature bolt lug wear and breakage.
Normal DI ARs use the gas to /rotate the bolt/ and propel the bolt+carrier back. But piston just punches the bolt carrier back and yanks the bolt against the lugs to rotate the bolt.
But, uh, to allow more pressure torqued back on the the shoulder, a handstop needs to be placed behind where the hand is placed. So it can, uh..hand...stop.
Placing it so far forward doesn't do that. And having a barrier forward of the hand doesn't make much sense on a handguard so long, and even if it were in place to prevent accidentally touching the barrel, it's installed backwards.
It just makes so many questions.
Also, a free floated handguard where the primary sighting is iron sights. Ok den.
a PSA rep actually explained that they have two warehouses they ship from which causes the delay.
it all depends on what you ordered and when (crazy sales times slow down shipping also, obviously)
at most, the longest ive waited on a psa order was a week here in ohio
I just ordered a Perst 4 ir laser from russianthunder mostly out of curiosity and the potential to have something unique.
how blasphemous would it be to put it on my AR?
I had it take 3 weeks to get my stuff before, but that was during some busy times. I recently bought some stuff and they shipped it out within 2 days, and I'm expecting it within 8 business days.
So, is there any metal flip up sights, or am I just fucked with my railed GB?
There are, but don't plan on flipping them up if you've been shooting. Those fuckers will be hot. You could put a fixed iron on there. You could also just get a new gas block/FSB. You could also just leave it be. You might make arfcommers shit their pants that you don't have backup irons, but oh well.
The rail on the upper and the gb are the same height, if that helps.
A cheap red dot I got until I get a nicer optic. Was thinking primary arms or something.
>What Optic is that?
It actually looks a bit like the prism that Primary Arms sells. The PA stuff is all chinese-made and some other companies sell the same products (with small variations) under their own names.
>The rail on the upper and the gb are the same height, if that helps.
If you're positive they're the exact same height, then you're in luck and you can just buy any handguard-height front iron instead of finding a gasblock height one. That extra riser you have on your upper would need to come off, and with that optic placed where it is you really wouldn't be able to use the irons without taking it off.
The optic and riser will be coming off soon anyhow.
The one thing I'm so appreciative of s&w doing is making the gb rail the same height as the receiver rail.
Usually not. Unless you have a redi-mag or something like that
The difference is that we know for a fact those rifles are his because he's posted videos of himself shooting them, unlike the anon who is claiming that he has an incredibly rare piece of kit and wants us to believe that no results in a reverse image search should be sufficient evidence to his ownership.
i use the bad lever and love it, makes locking and releasing the bolt easier and faster.
baka desu senpai
Which upper get?
5-8 year optic battery life is pretty cool
>tfw want Warden
>tfw would look ass-nasty without an extended handguard
No better or worse than any other can or can-like device on an upper with normal-length handguards.
You know what must be done
should look pretty great on my other AR when i get the 13'' URX 4
Those don't look too hot either, but at least the length lets you know its a suppressor and doesn't make it look like the world's smallest WWII-style RGL.
someone needs to make a QD can launching cup
When I get 500 dollarydoos to blow on my AR, it's going towards a T-1.
The only time when it doesn't occur is when the rifle isn't cycling correctly- which should be causing more important issues than bolt hold open, or if you have a weak/malformed defective bolt catch spring.
I had a rifle which had occasional, increasing problems with the bolt staying open, and the problem was the defective spring. Once I narrowed down the problem, it was an easy fix. On a functioning rifle, this isn't a problem.
Doesn't look like a Ghost Gun General is up so I'll post this here;
I'm going to head to Harbor Freight in the next few days for the stuff I need to finish my 80%.
So far I have on my list:
Ear plugs (maybe)
I'm not sure if I'll need a router, I might grab one anyway. I've read you can also use a file to finish up the pocket.
Anything else I'm missing?
I bought my first gun today. Paid $650 for it. There is a 10 day return policy. What should I look at on it to see if I should return it other than shooting it?
yeah, undergassing. it's one of the tests when you're figuring out what gas setting for your adjustable gas block - load 1 into the magazine and if it's not locking back open it up more.
