/HM/ spent a while over-regulated, and it drove people off who came here from boards that weren't pieces of shit on other chans. We need an extended period of time where we stick to the bare minimum - no underage, gore, etc. People got turned off because your board was a piece of shit filled with /b/tards for a while, but then it was a shithole where you could really only post bears and old men and Benedict fucking Cumberbatch and expect to be safe. And that era stains the current image. Our twink threads are pieces of shit compared to the ones that used to be on non-4chan gay boards. The retards who post Joel every time are still here, it's everybody else that left because the mods were and still are overzealous about policing twinks and "fem" stuff.

And the popularity of trans stuff isn't /lgbt/'s problem. It's the constant barrage of /pol/ shit and shit-tier trolling. It's possibly under moderated or just poorly/inconsistently moderated. I have no aversion to sharing that board with trans people, but the constant threads about Islam and Feminism and whatever dumb college kids /pol/ happens to hate that week... could live without those. Bringing the gay discussion here would just make both things worse.

I don't have a problem with the occasional greentext story thread or porn threads that are sometimes interspersed with discussion, but people explicitly posting retarded advice threads (e.g. "hey guiz, how do i get prep and slut it up at my local bathhouse??!") need to take that shit to >>>/adv/ or >>>/lgbt/

Also, do something about racism on /hm/. Evidently you can't post any images of black dudes without some /pol/tard coming in to derail the thread whining about his SJW boogeyman or whatever buzzword /pol/ uses these days. I think it could be ok to allow camwhoring here, just as long as we have designated threads for it. The boards /hm/ essentially replaced often had camwhoring, and it's gone kind of downhill as an art since /hm/'s creation. Allowing some camwhoring here would bring in more people be a way better venue for it than /soc/ or /b/.

Maybe it would even lessen the amount of shitty asshole camwhore idiots posting selfies in our regular threads, too - put down a hard line over where on /hm/ they're allowed to post that stuff, and they might not feel the urge to do it in the wrong places.

But I'm biased - I miss when cute, interesting guys would camwhore on the old gay boards. Fuckers today are gross and boring.

For this to work, peeps have to use the report function more often. Janitors usually don't read every thread, so if you see internal camwhores inside a thread, it really helps if you report it so that it'll show up on their report thingy.
