No way. Don't even bother messaging the recruiter. Your taste is shitty entry-level electronic /mu/core. None of them are dnb even except for Goldie but they are the band everybody who has ever heard of dnb knows about.
Fuck off.
>>
>>60555900

>>
>>60555925
Hey, don't call me an idiot because you can barely listen to the most entry level artists of the whole "electronic" genre and then get upset when I tell you that DB9 would never ever accept a guy with such a taste.
>I can't recall all the hundreds of 3-track one-record ever DnB artists nobody listened to twice
Nigger, you only mentioned ONE dnb artist out of seven when asked about your favorite dnb artists. You must be legit retarded.

>>60555950

No.
Besides, if you don't have extensive taste in DnB, you don't need DB9, and you might as well use a general music tracker. This guy clearly wouldn't use DB9 for anything for which he couln't use for RED as well.

>>60556027
Do you lack reading comprehension of something? Getting in is easy as fuck. The fact that some people fail the interview makes me seriously question how stupid the average internet user is. My point was related to downloading over there being easy if you have some actual taste in music, meaning you don't have to worry about ratio.
Also, Pedro's is absolute shit. Pure dad-rock garbage.

>>
>>60556066
>if you don't have extensive taste in DnB, you don't need DB9
If you're actually passionate about DnB, wouldn't you want to spread that joy to others? Why would you let the genre die out with no new listeners?
>>
>>60556121
Because I can't be unique if other people listen to the same music as me
>>
>>60556066
If someone just joined Redacted today it would be quite difficult to get started. Yeah, maybe they could upload dozens of rare torrents that aren't already on the tracker, but they're gonna be sitting at 1 seed each until the next FL token giveaway comes during Christmas 2017.

Granted, WCD freeleech picks were a bandaid fix, but at least they provided a vehicle for newbies to generate some buffer.
>>
>>60556074
These people don't have the same interest.
For example, you may be interested in music, but unless you're an extremely niche tracker, there are deviations.
Not only that, there are different types of user interactions. Some are fervent uploaders, while others don't exist.
In the end, majority of communities are bad for that reason: in the 'in' group of a tracker, there are more 'in' groups of autism.
>>
I'm so glad I'm part of the Private Tracker Royalty (3 digit ID on RED, invited from HDBits), we got a few freeleech events to get us started on RED. I feel sorry for those who have to start from scratch
>>
>>60556164
That's a whole lot of words to say nothing
>>
>>60556137
Then you're using the music as a platform for identification, which is a very faulty way of living. Why would you want to identify yourself based on what you've consumed? Sounds like a way to lock yourself in

>>60556253
yeah man, pretty sure if I had one day with the global FL I would've gotten TBs as well... just autodl every new torrent, lol
>>
>>60556121
Because there is a reason DB9 is more exclusive and has all these exclusive releases, for security reasons, as people in the past have gotten into troubles from it. There is a Redacted thread about it written by DB9 members if you don't believe me.

>Why would you let the genre die out with no new listeners?
This is how I know you have no idea how the DnB genre works. Not everything is recorded music, you know? Also, a few hundreds of people listening to more or less DnB won't change a single thing.

>>60556143
>they're gonna be sitting at 1 seed each
If you are a retard you are correct. If you are not a retard, you post in the unsnatched thread.

>until the next FL token giveaway comes during Christmas 2017.
Let's hope that never happens.

>Granted, WCD freeleech picks were a bandaid fix, but at least they provided a vehicle for newbies to generate some buffer.

See, the whole "no handouts, earn everything yourself" attitude makes sense in a vacuum, but you're completely forgetting that the first X users had a whole fucking week of global freeleech and created terabytes of buffer for nothing. Terabytes of buffer on a music tracker cannot reasonably be spent in an average human lifespan, and these users are quite literally set for life.

They already had an advantage by virtue of being the first uploaders, they didn't need an unnecessary period of global freeleech.

I remember when the freeleech ended, 3 out of the 10 top uploaders by data had <5 torrents uploaded. You can't say new users don't deserve a helping hand when the first users of the tracker got the biggest handout in private tracker history.
>>
>>60556437
How are you proposing to change what you're complaining about? They had a first mover advantage. What did you expect?

>>
>>60556425
Just use the search function as I don't want to get /marked/, at least not today.

>>60556437
Yeah, those users with terabytes of data suck, but well, what can you do about it? It was inevitable. Not having the freeleech event wouldn't get the tracker going, and having a global freeleech for everybody registered now would make almost every request and uploading meaningless unless you do it by pure good will.

>You can't say new users don't deserve a helping hand when the first users of the tracker got the biggest handout in private tracker history.
I definitely can, and I will. New users don't deserve a helping hand other than the initial buffer. Neither did the old users deserve the global FL, but it was a necessary sacrifice.
>>
>>60556414
you're a nice guy anon. Hope you get into all the trackers you desire
>>
>>60556470
Thank you, but I don't need any other trackers save for maybe FunSharing. I wonder what their current torrent count is now and if they are still active users. I care mostly about their community.

>>60556459
Sorry anon, I didn't really mean it.
>>
>>60556451
>How are you proposing to change what you're complaining about? They had a first mover advantage. What did you expect?

>>60556465
>Yeah, those users with terabytes of data suck, but well, what can you do about it? It was inevitable. Not having the freeleech event wouldn't get the tracker going, and having a global freeleech for everybody registered now would make almost every request and uploading meaningless unless you do it by pure good will.

Well, you can't fix it now, it's too late. They should've had neutral leech that week instead. The FL token giveaway once the userbase was larger seemed a decent way to jump start the economy without completely wrecking it like the global freeleech did.

We're pretty much exactly where the WCD economy was. People aren't downloading because they are anticipating another FL event. On WCD, 99% of the downloading took place during FL picks and holiday events.
>>

Funsharing (FSC) is dead in the water. Three new uploads a day, no one talks in the IRC. It's a relic. The sysop paid for ten years worth of hosting in 2010 and that's the only reason it's still up.
No one talks about it any more just like iTS.

>>
>>60556497
>They should've had neutral leech that week instead.
It wouldn't have worked. You needed to quickly "inject" buffer into the tracker some way and neutral leech wouldn't help. The Tokens were a nice touch, I agree.

>We're pretty much exactly where the WCD economy was.
WCD's economy wasn't even hard enough. You could get a shitload of buffer only from staff picks, and you don't want users to do that.

>People aren't downloading because they are anticipating another FL event.
People (actually the majority of users who don't contribute) don't download because they have no buffer because they don't contribute. It's not rocket science.

>On WCD, 99% of the downloading took place during FL picks and holiday events.
Downloadings by the average user who mostly did never upload anything, so we are not talking about anything that matters much here really.

>>60556519

FunSharing was good at some point though, right?
You don't get the point of Pedro if you think it doesn't matter because the same stuff you can find it at Red. The deal with P and E is that they are rips made by the actual users, so you can be sure you are actually downloading the advertised edition of a recording. On Red and Apollo you can never be sure. In fact, I have already seen plenty of fake editions at Red, Apollo AND Rutracker. On Red I haven't bothered to report it yet, and on Rutracker there is no way to report it, and the only reason I know they are fake is because they have vastly different track lenghts, or even whole songs missing, meaning there MUST be a lot of issues that are impossible to verify just from the metadata (for example, if they have the same track list and track lenghts but different mastering).

No, because there is already buffer from other people into the tracker who will download your stuff if it hasn't been snatched after a while.

Now, you COULD indeed make a tracker without any freeleech ever, and it could work, but it would only be used by people who own super rare and expensive records. It already happens at other places I won't mention, just not with ratios and instead simply trading. In this case, you would have a currency so there is no need to trade. Pretty interesting concept, really. To get it going you would need to post an entire collection of rare recordings though.

no, now that buffer has already been generated onto the site(from GFL, FL tokens, FL picks), people who have that buffer can download to pass it on. depending on how much buffer was generated altogether from the FL this is the amount that can be transferred in excess and still theoretically maintain a 1.0 ratio across all users given the buffer distribution is balanced(which is not now because people are hoarding the buffer)

>You're believing editions on Red are fake because the log track times don't match Discogs XD
I already said there are even editions being uploaded with different track listings. And this isn't even for original issues. There would be japan issues being uploaded as UK issues as well when both have vastly different masterings.

>Yeah, I'm sure the record label cared to print how long the song was to the precise second or half-second.
I'm talking about 30 seconds to a minute of difference, and then you see that on another edition the track lengths match to the second. Meaning the uploader uploaded a fake edition.

>The breadth of content Red offers over Pedro's is way more attractive then a rare incorrect edition.
Depends on what you are looking for. If a release was only issued once then you surely can't be wrong by downloading the Redacted torrent, but if it's not the case, you are doomed, and that's when those trackers come in. Still, this is of no use to casual music listeners, and even listeners with a lot of musical exposure, but it's still bothersome to some.

Regardless of buffer status, good or bad, it will never change the fact that RED has the lowest data transfer of any private tracker, and will need a miracle to recover its economy.
If I were an administrator on RED, I wouldn't feel right seeing my site in the condition it is in, but it seems it is some sort of accomplishment to have your tracker turn completely upside down, completely contradicting the purpose of its existence, as if it's a goal (which has been achieved).

Since WCD has been down I don't really give a shit anymore. I just grab all the stuff I want from rutracker now and only if there is no decent FLAC version available will I turn to RED as a backup. rutracker might not have the 1971 First Press Limited Gold Edition but whatever.

In the case of RED I don't even seed anything I did not upload myself anymore because the storage space on my server is essentially wasted, since barely anyone is going to snatch anything anyway.

Out of over a hundred of my uploads that have been online for months, only the epubs and ~10 albums were snatched. Most of my uploads aren't super obscure either. I am also not going to go around begging in the forums. If people don't like what I offer that's completely fine, but I think a huge part can't really afford it anyway and thus people have to be super selective.

Which brings me to my next point. A good 90%+ of my 1XX GB upload (this measly number already puts me in the top 10% global upload btw) on RED was because of staff picks or other freeleech, despite having over a hundred FLAC uploads. That means I could very well have uploaded nothing and roughly be at the same place I am right now.

WCD truly was a godsend.

>>60558049
>>Also, you would be surprised at uploading obscure stuff getting downloaded. There are people already setting up auto-dl for 100% logs not just from 2017.

I have over a hundred uploaded perfect flacs at RED (CD and Vinyl, no WEB bullshit), have over 100 GB uploaded just like you, and I only participated in one freeleech from which I only got 5 GB of upload. I don't upload popular stuff either.
I said it once and I say it again, if you complain about buffer then you are either lazy, or a retard, or both.

I want to start writing gay fan fiction about zed's terrible life but I need a character profile first. Can you post your ideas for inspiration please and I'll post what I'm thinking.
I plan on releasing zed stories here and on /r/trackers.

What kind of person is zed:
>blond
>handsome
>blue eyes
>rich family whom he sometimes visits at their mansion
>love interest is someone called Nala who is actually a Russian man called Alan who pretends to be a girl
>zed doesn't like programming actually and that's why his site hasn't seen any development since it opened
>he resents being a programmer
>chronically daydreams about Alan and Sadistic making love to him
>Sadistic is some background character who is an aggressive top
>zed's penis and asshole are always sore
>a natural weak leader and it shows in his management style
>explains why his ass is always sore
>closeted in fact

I need some compulsive trait ideas

mmmMMMMmmm thank you!

Several comments:

>1. Even though he is handsome, make his height short (5'5 - 5'6). This should cause him various insecurities

>2. He isn't aware that he is closeted AT LEAST until issue 5. Other characters drop hints right from the start

>3. At the end of issue 1, introduce Alastor (as a spin off character). Have them meet as a finale of issue 6

Alastor Character Profile
>Pajeet
>doesn't know English (well)
>Needy
>has a failing marketing career
>>
>>60559876
Good, good. zed remains in denial throughout even though he tests himself regularly with evident penetrative anal sex from Alan.

I will want Alastor to experience a horrible and brutal death like you would expect from him falling into that grinder that eats car engines

the thing about red is that it's not capitalism, but rather an oligarchy. see early FL
>>
>>60559896
zed should also contract HIV at the end of Issue 4. It would be up to the reader to decide who it was from (Alastor)

>tfw middle class
>only got elite for possible future recruitments
>enough ratio to have no music problems

yeah im the middle class as well but i can still see that the economy is shit

also threadly reminder about 'negative benefits in regards to how much new torrents get their request fulfilled and uploaded'

>>60551673
>close to none, because the majority of content is uploaded by a small group of people/providers
>just like wikipedia has actually a very small number of regular editors compared to the useless long tail of sunday writers

>>60551721
>this, rutracker is a prime example, people upload albums (albeit not as well tagged or ripped, but that's more to do with russian incompetence) with no reward

>>60552077
>To be fair, I have 300+ uploads, seeding 100% of my snatched torrents, have an autodl filter on my seedbox, and I still only have ~100GB buffer. The economy IS ridiculous.
>Had I got in a day sooner, I would've been able to abuse the global freeleech like all the other ratio whores
>>
RED is an oligarchy/aristocracy. As I said, there is nothing wrong with that. If you don't like it feel free to use another tracker

So AB is communism because everyone is rich?
>>
>>60560031
How many banned accounts does AB have? If alot, then yes its communism

can anyone give me quick rundown on AHD invite forum?

You're right, wish they just wouldn't dance around the thing with convoluted tracker theories.

What does that mean? And why is it that BTN and PTP are inactive?

this, if bakabt/boxtorrents (has) managed to be good for years while being practically open, animebytes (albeit kinda small) works while everyone is rich and so on...

I just won't buy any crap about trackers needing to be hard. I'm going to consider it elitist LARPing which I may deal with if the tracker is, nonetheless, good enough.

Or maybe normies are just shit and communism only works if everyone is a weeb.
>>
>>60560130
you have to reach HD-Maniac to qualify for the invite (as well as have a huge seeding size and a large seedtime average)

inactive = used to recruit, but now don't
