Yup. In the beginning, I yen-farmed a bit to get my buffer up, and then I quickly realized that I had no need whatsoever for that, as just downloading shit normally would generate enough yen for anything I might need.

Since my library is approaching 4TB, and all of it is seeding, I don't actually need people to leech. I effectively generate like 5GB of buffer a day without uploading a single byte.

It depends on a ton of things, anon. Go look at the formula. And while you are at it, install the yen per x and Enhanced Torrent View userscripts.

What you might consider doing is renting like a micro VPS (think 5-8GB) somewhere in europe for like 5-6 euro a month. Just fill that thing with as many small torrents as you can, and let it run. for 8 or so bucks a month, you'll get a couple hundred GB in buffer.

And then, obviously, just delete it when you are done.

Sometimes 720p is the best option. Just look at bitrate and file size, sometimes there are very small differences between the two that don't justify the bloated file sizes. It's rare, but especially with older movies 1080p often isn't a huge difference and just takes up space.

The thing is, many private trackers don't simply "value seeding".

Basically many of them want you to download a shitload of crap you don't even need/want and then seed it to those who want it. Any idiot can leave his torrent client running, but you must also pick the right things to get in the first place, that others also download a lot of.

Plus make your own uploads, contribute in other ways, etc, though this isn't generally quite mandatory (however helpful).

While I'm here, Is there any way of forcing torrent clients to seed? I've already tried bittorrent, utorrent, deluge and after about a ratio of ~3 it seems like they struggle to keep on seeding most of the torrents, even on ones where I'm the only seeder and there are leachers waiting. Some torrents keep on seeding till oblivion though slower while most torrents practically come to a stop.

I'm quite fond of seeding things with very low seed counts and I wish my clients where more "eager" to connect to leachers.
