The DB was from their staging server. Almost all sensitive information, including emails, passwords, etc. was scrubbed in case something like this happened. There's no point in having that data on your staging server anyway.

The only thing I could find was that they stored IPs from password resets in staff notes on profiles.

I am not trying to win anything. spaghetti disseminated details that could result in various damages for the users of AB, which is usually the case after private information is shared. For the staff of a tracker, not only is one clearly supposed to set an example for the users (whom they usually expect the same from), but they also paint a terrible image of themselves with their tendency to handle sensitive user data in general in such a careless way.
I'm not much of a fan of the PTP staff but they are not wrong for banning him. He's made an active effort to damage the community and it makes sense that they would want to exclude him in return, otherwise they would just be hypocritical with regards to their own rules and expectations from users. spaghetti is still free to host whatever he wishes on his own site, and this ability hasn't been suppressed by anyone.

Developers already had access to Staff notes, the log, and other such informations that were retained in the dump. The idea was only to hide information from the Developers.
Nobody seemed to have thought of the damage that such a dump going public would cause, or maybe the past Staff generation simply misjudged their trust.
