What about the LG X Power K220?

In my country it's quite hard to get chinkphones and I want something with a good battery and a 720p screen. No need for 3D or anything fancy.
>>
Ordered a Lenovo P2 a few days ago, should get it tomorrow.

I'm having second toughts about it,
but I just read that a nougat update is being finalized for it.

Is this going to improve the camera in any way?
Because I'm thinking about sending it back and getting a cheaper phone honestly
>>
>>59253695
It's a good phone, why would you want to send it back?
>>

>>
>>59253630
You're better off buying a Moto G4 Play or a Moto G5 and a spare battery. Why can't you get chink phones though?
>>
>>59253877
I just don't feel good in spending this much for a phone, specially since somebody offered me a 90€ phone already.

If there was a 250€ phone with a better camera I'd might consider switching to that.
Maybe the honor 6x.

I'm trying to compare the photo quality of the p2 with other phones on gsm but I can't gather much from it.
>>
>>59253991
It'll last you longer than a 90€ phone though, so in the long run it might actually be cheaper. Also that 5100mah battery...
>>
>>59254081
>It'll last you longer than a 90€ phone though
Not necessarily, it's 5,5 and much more likely to bend because of that.

But as I said I'm mostly interested in a good combination of battery/camera, everything else is plus.
>>
>>59253986
Border restrictions.

And some people don't like to be switching batteries (it's for my mother, who uses the phone for basic things: messaging, calling, watching videos...).

OP3 owner here.

Great phone honestly, even at full price. The switch on the side and fast charging are a bonus. I've got my switch setup to toggle flashlight, which is unbelievably handy.

Only gripes with it are the curved glass (screen protectors never sit right), no stereo speakers, and 3000mah battery, but all these are minor issues.

Can't wait for Xposed to be stable on Android nougat. but until then it's marshmallow for me.

ZUK Z2 coming in this week (Canada) from GearBest
anything I should be aware of? What's all this I hear about retailer-installed ROMs?
>>

I would have flashed CM but I'm quite turned back from the issues that it has. Last time I checked there was only one or two people working on the official CM for Redmi Note 3 while there's still quite a bit of support for the Redmi Note 3's official ROM.

Even though it's still on Marshmallow there is word that there will be a Nougat release for the RMN3.

Zuk z2. If she's a girl then camera matters. RMN3P has poops for a camera.

Also do SD Cards work just fine? Because I'll just get 16GB version and upgrade later..
>>
>>59259828
It's just BS marketing. there's no international version. it has no B20 if you need it in Germany.

You should get the 32GB version anyway because it has 3GB RAM.
>>
>>59259872
>You should get the 32GB version anyway because it has 3GB RAM

Oh thanks, I read about that earlier but didn't make the connection that the 16GB wouldn't have that.

So how much of a bitch would it be to get this phone to work? I don't do awfully specific things, just need a decently running browser and whatsapp.

Do I simply have access to google play?
>>
>>59259926
You might have to flash the global rom if they ship it with an unofficial vendor rom.

If you're not comfortable with that don't buy Xiaomi because all of their phones are like that.

Buy if you ask the install official global rom before buying I think they'll do it and yes it has google play and it's fast enough for whatsapp and all that.
>>
Is MIUI 8 known for having issues with themes? As in: I'll download and apply a theme and it just won't work properly; certain aspects will work, then I'll reboot my phone and things like settings will be completely fucked, regardless of what theme it is. It's either just general problems, or the fact that it's a port for a non-Xiaomi phone.

>MIUI
Exynos Note 4. I have nearly zero options.

>>59259970
>If you're not comfortable with that don't buy Xiaomi because all of their phones are like that.

I'm comfortable with following guides on Linux related shit, doubt this would be much harder? Given I can find guides on it that is.

In regards to shipping an duties - does Air Mail from China include duties? (Because they mention DHL doesn't include it - but they don't mention anything about duties on Air Mail from china)
>>
>>59259970
>Buy if you ask the install official global rom before buying I think they'll do it and yes it has google play and it's fast enough for whatsapp and all that.

In the "Ask the Question" section they say that they will always install Google Play and the newest global ROM.
Is this just chink bs or is this seller usually trustworthy?
>>
>>59260023
It used to be easy with EDL mode but they started locking it in their new phones so now you might have to use a deep flash cable.
http://en.miui.com/thread-310325-1-1.html

Don't buy from China they have an EU option. with China you 99% get custom taxes so it doesn't matter if shipping is free.

I ordered a z3 compact/mini and I noticed it had these kinds of film on it.
Though I'm not expecting a new device, though I payed for a 'new' device, I don't want it repaired or something, as I want the water-proof-ness of it.
I looked up unboxings and noticed that they had films on the display and glass that look completely clear.
Would the film on mine be from a refurbished device?
I tried the pressure test and that failed any the top section of the phone has a creaking sound, which, as I found through googling, isn't too uncommon.
The most damning thing to me though, is the IMEI tag that's supposed to be under the SIM flap is non-existent. Which threw up some immediate red flags to me.

Could a Germanfag translate this for us please?
https://www.chinamobilemag.de/news/oneplus-3-akku-kapazitaet-gefallen.html

They claim the Oneplus 3 only has a 2500 mAh battery if I understood it correctly. I find it hard to believe, I have had a Oneplus 3 since launch and I have consistently been having 2 days of usage on a single charge with my (admittedly modest) usage pattern.
>>
>>59274179
All oneplus 3 phones with the latest firmware cannot be charged to more than 2500mah, even though the specs say the maximum is 3000mah. They could be fully charged when the phone was released.
So they opened up the phone and the battery says 3000mah, but the replacement cells on aliexpress are only 2500mah for some reason.
They speculate that oneplus rolled out an update which would hinder the battery from being fully charged after the news of the galaxy note 7 hit.
The other possibility is that oneplus sabotaged the capacity to sell the 3T which is supposed t have a very large battery.
There is no official statement about this topic

Bought a Umi Zero last year on a deal. It was quite cheap and quite the upgrade from my very old 10 year old telephone. While I do not regret buying it and do like it overall, the device has some issues I would like to fix or simply improve if possible.

As far as I know the device already came rooted yet I can't really have free access to the innermost files nor can I update it further from 4.4 version (or 4.2). I've been having some issues with google play apps which only say the "app is not compatible with my phone" and don't even let me install, much less update stuff. FEH had to be installed about 2 times per day with the apk file because it would stop working all the time, for example. Some rerooting tips or ways to update would be appreciated.

I would also love to know if there is any way to improve the gps. It's shit, no other way around this one.

Thanks in advance.

Very, 30% chance of bootloop i'd say, and it's happening a lot more in asia, you can dig up dozens of videos where a mildly upset japanese man with girly hands shows you how his oversized piece of trash shit the bed after 2 months of regular use.

Compare this to the G3 (40%), G4 (85%), G5 (50%) and V10 (70%), only the G2 escaped LG's shit soldering, i honestly don't know why they're still in the smartphone bussiness and why the fuck they put more care towards their budget phones instead of the ones that cost 800 dollars.

Everything checks out and I was even able to register it under Sony's site, aida64 shows all the correct specs and the freshly ran benches don't lie. And if this is an imitation, I'll give them props for making such a nice camera into a fake.
But I've seen "mini" used as a nickname and even when searching for cases, some say both compact and mini.

But if I had to guess, I'm guessing it's an aftermarket replacement screen protector packaging from a replacement screen, as the back glass is as soft as the OEM glass and the display has quirks that align with the standard z3c.

I've been following this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537

I made sure to download the right files that pertain to my phones model.

I followed the instructions (twice) and times now it just ends with my phone not rebooting and stuck saying "Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing". I then have to load my phones default firmware back on and I'm back to where I started from.

Also on this page: https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/

It says: "If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device"

How do I know if my bootloaders are locked?

Try sultans-rom if you want something stable with good battery life. Lineage is (hopefully) gonna be stable sometime in the coming months, and maybe sultans will update his opo rom for nougat.

Personally, I got the Honor 8, mainly because I wanted a smaller screen, usb-c, and the headphone jack on the bottom.

EMUI 5.0 has some quirks, and sometimes it's harder to find stuff in the settings than normal android, but they add a search in the settings app, so there's that, and I personally like how the skin is reminiscent of iOS, but that can be a turn off for some people.

Pretty much the question is, Do you want Dual Front facing Speakers, an almost stock android experience and a 5.5 in screen? Then the ZTE Axon 7 is for you. The Honor 6x is alright if you want something cheaper but still has a 5.5 screen.

If you don't care about that, then the Honor 8 is also pretty good, unless you hate EMUI, then the Axon 7 Mini might up you alley.
Smaller screen and weaker cpu than the Axon 7, but cheaper too.

I was the same, I bought the z pro during Christmas sale when the price matched the homor 8 for me though

Girlfriend has tiny South-European hands. A moto G 5(+) would be perfect for her but something closer to 4inch diameter would be more comfortable. 720p screen would be sufficient. Front camera is useless but decent back camera for low light conditions would be a big plus.
Chicks seem obsessed with putting phones in their back pocket and sitting on them so something resilient also is a positive.
Any advice welcome. Cheers, /g/s.

Sup /spg/. I bought my little sister an LG K7. Problem is that it only has 8GB internal storage and it's starting to bitch about not enough internal space for Android system updates. Is formatting her 32GB MicroSD card for use as internal storage viable for long term use? The MicroSD in question is a class 10 Microcenter branded one. Looking at its tech specs, it's just a Kingston rebrand. Pic related. Her phone.

And I know I know. Should have looked at internal storage of the phone before buying it. Should have just jumped on the brand new G4 for $200. But she's 16. And known for breaking her phone. As she's done to the last BLU one I gave her.

>Install LineageOS or similar, with no google apps
>Only use apps from F-droid or if necessary Yalp store or APKMirror
>Use Afwall+ to stop apps from connecting to network
>Don't grant more permissions than necessary
>Don't leave your location on
>Don't connect to unsecured wifi
>Adaway to stop most ads and tracking
>Icecatmobile set to delete cookies after every session
That will cover you for the most part.

Wi-Fi doesn't use that much juice unless you're capping out your bandwidth all the time up/downloading from the phone. I'm no expert on ROMs, but maybe the whole "unofficial" part of your ROM is causing the battery drain?

>>
>>59295584
No clue. I will just install another ROM if this keeps happening and I wont be able to find the cause
>>
>>59295599
What was wrong with the stock ROM? I used to be a ROM jumper myself, but noticed each ROM would have its quirks. Worse battery life, something else like the camera works technically, but not as well as stock, etc.

I've since just stuck with stock ROM, debloat as much as possible, and using full phone encryption. Another feature custom ROMs usually break.
>>
>>59295649
Tons of bloat and samsung custom bullshit.
Battery life wasn't great either, maybe this battery is just shit - it has been used for almost 3 years already
>>
>>59295692
Oh yeah. S4 is an older phone and old Saying TouchWiz was rather heavy. 3 years as a daily driver phone, yea the battery could just be whooped. Look into an OEM replacement. Or see if ZeroLemon makes a battery case for your phone. My old note was using their 10k mAh battery for the longest. 6 days constant use with 50% screen brightness was nice.

does apple have the best customer service

Question: I've got a Moto E and for a shitty budget phone I actually like it a lot. SD storage, four-inch screen, doesn't feel like it's going to shatter if I break it. The issue is that with the small RAM and relatively slow CPU, it can chug doing regular stuff and it'll drop programs from RAM so sometimes my podcast app will stop or it'll kick off Maps while I'm using it for directions.

Are there any small phones (less than five inch) out there that have decent specs? US GSM (cricket) here.

Use gsm arena to find your phone.

Here is a list of all the phones with a display size smaller than 4.5 inches, Android 5.0 or later, has SD card slot and under €300/$408.

Find one that you like.
