You don't need to know how the hashing works, just let checklog.exe do the work and use a debugger to extract the computed checksum.
Reversing the hash might be a fun exercise, but the EAC dev can change the algorithm in the next version and you'd end up having to do the reversing again.

The version is not used as part of the checksum calculation. So that would be hard, you could just lower the version noted in your log or use an older version.
