How much power does a sys_fan header output?

Trying to connect an H100i v2 to the PWM fan header on an enthoo evolv, the pump/fan power itself wont fit on the fan header like all the other builds Ive done with headers.

Yes, if you have an adapter that will end with aux, you just plug it in to the line in jack and tell windows to "listen to this device".

I do this with a surface pro 4 so I can have streams and whatnot in the background during benching or w/e, audio is perfectly synced.

So you want a glorified typewriter?

I could help you steer in the right direction.

Few questions.
>Are you comfortable with text editor or do you require a full blown word processor?
>What about network connectivity?
Do you need a GUI network manager so you can switch wlan networks on the go or are you fine with configuring it once and forgetting about it (like on a desktop)
>How do you want to export your files?
Are you going to print them, copy to another device or what?
>Are you comfortable with the command line.
>>
>>58882026
>>58882063
Oh and the most importantly, if the answer to the first questions is "text editor", are you familiar with Emacs?
>>
>>58882026
You could set up any Linux distro without an X environment and just write in a text editor from the command line.

If you need windows and a word processor, install a WM/DE, get LibreOffice, set up your system and environment how you like it, and then just uninstall any packages that might be sources of distraction.

Or start practicing meditation.
>>

if you get that virus again, follow the steps.
>Turn off computer.
>Turn on your computer and immediately press F8.
>Now you are in the boot menu, boot up in safe mode with networking
>Now you are in safe mode. Search for the virus in your explorer and registry
>Delete them
>Download a antivirus and install it
>Scan your computer
>If your antivirus finds the virus, it will delete it
Now you are safe.

Computer won't power on.

Its my little brothers 'gaming' pc so it has those neon like LEDs at the front.

When I press the power button the front 'neon' LEDs flash once, Nothing else is getting power, no fans not the HDD; nothing.

Any tips? Is the PSU? I also already checked with another power cable; same thing.
>>
>>58878433
I think it depends a lot on your preferences. Been using a G700 for years (later G700s when that one broke, same mouse basically but different software and some extra decals on the back) and think it can't be beat in the wired/wireless hybrid niche. Tons of programmable buttons makes your life much easier once you get used to giving them useful functions for the programs you use, also super easy to plug/unplug as needed assuming you're sitting at a desk.

Though if you want to use it exclusively wirelessly the short battery life might become annoying. I usually just unplug it when I'm doing gaming or other tasks requiring rapid mouse movement where the friction of the cord might be annoying.
>>
>>58882258
>When I press the power button the front 'neon' LEDs flash one.
It could be everything including the motherboard.

If the motherboard's dead it probably took the CPU and ram with itself.

Unplug everything from the motherboard but the CPU and start troubleshooting.
>>
>>58882258
Even the PSU fan isn't spinning? Would assume it is the PSU in that case.
>>
>>58882063
Thanks for your reply.

>So you want a glorified typewriter?
Yes. A typewriter that can save files.
>Are you comfortable with text editor or do you require a full blown word processor?
The only thing I need is something to type. Maybe the ability to write in italic type could come in handy.
I don't know about Emacs. I've used Linux only once for about two weeks.
>What about network connectivity?
Do I really need Internet, if I just want to write? I don't need to switch anything, I guess.
>How do you want to export your files?
Probably on a stick. Or to the other partition if that is possible.
>Are you comfortable with the command line.
No. You see I am not very experienced… But it can't be too hard, to get what I want, right? But Linux sounds right for this. With Windows there are always things, you can't control.

/g/, i have a really old computer.
Won't upgrade till next year,
but need a RAM upgrade now and want to move to
64bit Windows 7 (am running a 32bit system now).

It has a
• ABIT IP35V board, which still works miraculously.
• Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

The ABIT board has:
• 4x 240-pin DIMM slots support
maximum memory capacity up to 8GB.
• Supports Dual Channel DDR2
1066/800/667 Un-buffered Non-ECC
memory.

The question:
Will i loose anything by getting 2x 4GB RAM cards and putting them into two slots,
instead of going 4x 2GB RAM cards into all 4 slots?
Can one 240-pin DIMM slot hold out one 4GB RAM card?

I was asking about Emacs because it would be the tool I'd use if I was tasked with creating an environment you asked for.

https://youtu.be/FtieBc3KptU
I know it's an hour long lecture but It's a great insight into what Emacs can offer to someone who doesn't come from technical field at all.

>No. You see I am not very experienced… But it can't be too hard, to get what I want, right?
Exactly. The setup you want would not require any advanced unix knowledge beyond the setup.
Once your finish setting it up, it's done.

As a starter you can read http://www.howardism.org/Technical/Emacs/new-window-manager.html

Just follow the steps described.
>You get Ubuntu LTS server edition (server bit is important, you obviously don't want a full blown desktop environment)
>install xinit
>install emacs
>configure emacs
>write

Now with emacs it's a bit of a rabbit hole.
There are package managers, various modes/extensions/plugins and shitton of configurability.
You can even write your shit in LaTeX and have emacs export it to .pdf

As for transferring data from one machine to another all you have to do is write an fstab entry so your system mounts a plugged USB drive automatically and just copy files with the cp command (or Emacs dired mode which is a file manager)

I'm a little stumped on this one.
Hard drive died so I got a new one and installed Win 7. Previously had Win 10 on the old one.

After a couple days, I noticed that my computer would just randomly start doing the USB disconnect/reconnect bloops like 5 or 6 times every now and then. I figured I had a dying phone charger cord, but it kept happening after I got a new one.

It was just a little annoying at first, but then the bloops kept happening more frequently, and now every 10 or so bloop cycles, my computer will disable half of my usb devices at random.

The only constant is that it always kills my "usb sound card" (long story, but I need it) and my game controller no matter what ports they are plugged into.
I've read about stuff like USB power saving mode and toggled those all to never shut off, but it didn't seem to help.

I'm guessing its either something with the shitty sound card thing or something got fucked with my drivers, but I have no clue what I'm doing.

Shits driving me insane. Please help.

I've got a Lian Li PC-09 and its drive bay is the shittiest piece of crap to annoy me in a long time

It's SO loud, the vibrations from my WD Black (an admittedly loud HDD to begin with) resonating through the case along with the fan whir getting carried throughout, too, well, it's driving me insane; you can hear in the adjacent rooms to mine and if you're downstairs it sounds like fucking gunfire if the HDD is seeking

Are there any less obvious home remedies I can try? I've worked up from putting duct tape to stop metal/metal contact, which I then tried again with some rubber; I've swapped what slot the HDD is in until there was no swapping left to try; I got some better rubber-bits for the screws and so on. Nothing worked, nada, nowt, zilch

I'd really not like to suspend the HDD with elastic as I'd like it to remain hard mounted and it wouldn't solve the problem anyway (fans are an issue, too); if it was less than 30 days I'd be refunding the shit out of this case, never blow cash on "something pretty", guys, I've learnt the £400 down the shitter hard way

ok guys so omegle has a shit bot detection system
basically after a certain amount of chats in a certain time frame, it will detect you as a bot and make you solve a captcha after each chat
the problem is 75% of users are horny dudes who will disconnect on you in 2 seconds, so you inevitably have to start solving captchas even if you're just a regular user
which makes the site unusable because now you have to solve a captcha every 2 seconds
how would one get around this?

I got a 4TB 128MB cache WD Black knowing it would be silly loud for a HDD, however, I really wanted mad space, but I took another HDD from one of my friends PCs that I knew to be quiet and had the same issue

Hello /g/,

Is there a way to easily export to text files wav regions that can be later imported in different wav files? I can do that file by file with iZotope RX (Sound Forge in pic-related does not export precise enough files), but I find doing it manually to be a waste of time and I wish to automate it.
Also, to clarify things, I do not wish to export the audio within the regions, but the markers themselves in order to place them on other files.

Not sure if it goes here, but...

I'm trying to find an internship as a software developer. I'm going to a career expo and I've heard they often conduct interviews on the spot, and have been told by a friend that they ask for work samples as well. I've never had a job in this field before so I only have a few academic things and a couple things I did for fun, mostly games.

My question is: what kind of a code sample should I include? I know the best one would obviously be from a language that the company wants it's workers to know but I'm not about to go write 50 different pieces of code in 50 different languages for each company. My school never taught anyone c++ and I went out of my way to teach it to myself, so I figured I should use that language to let them know I went the extra mile, etc.

The most complex/impressive code I've written off the top of my head is the homing system for bullets in a game I'm working on for fun. So my question is this: is code from an amateur game too... unprofessional to be used as a work sample? If so, what kind of code should I write for a sample?

Here is the code, by the way. If you think it can be formatted better or whatever let me know that as well. I sprinkled a liberal amount of comments for the purpose of the code being a sample.

CONT
>>
>>58889961
//for our vector of homingBullets, using an iterator h...
for(h = homBullets.begin(); h != homBullets.end(); h++)
{
//lets break this down. if the bullet is on screen...
if (h->bullet.getPosition().y > -31)
{
//we need to find the nearest enemy.
//store variables for enemy positional statuses. Find the nearest enemy as we loop through enemies.
double enemyX;
double enemyY;
double enemyDistance = 11111;
//we have a backup location for the bullet to go to if there are no enemies. If it is 11111, then no enemy was found.
for(i=enemyList.begin(); i!=enemyList.end(); i++)
{
if ((*i)->health > 0 && (*i)->active == true)
{
//uses deltas and hypotenuse to get information about position
const double bufferX = (*i)->shipSprite.getPosition().x - h->bullet.getPosition().x;
const double bufferY = (*i)->shipSprite.getPosition().y - h->bullet.getPosition().y;
//if the current enemy being processed is closer than the last stored one, change the stored enemy
if (enemyDistance > std::hypot(bufferX, bufferY))
{
enemyDistance = std::hypot(bufferX, bufferY);
enemyX = bufferX;
enemyY = bufferY;
}
}
}

if (enemyDistance != 11111)
{
//the closest enemy has been found. Move the bullet.
double angle = std::atan2(enemyX, enemyY);
double horizontalMovement = std::sin(angle) * 800 * frameTime.asSeconds();
double verticalMovement = std::cos(angle) * 800 * frameTime.asSeconds();
h->bullet.move(horizontalMovement, verticalMovement);
}
else
{
//no enemy. move the bullet straight up.
h->bullet.move(0, -800 * frameTime.asSeconds());
}
}
}
>>
>>58889977
When you're just checking which enemy is closest, you don't really need to compute the sqrt, you can just use the squared distance.
Then if you really need the distance, compute it once after you've determined the final enemy.
>>
>>58890131
...at no point in time do I compute the square root in that code...
>>
>>58890241
What exactly does std::hypot do?
>>
>>58890241
You just failed the interview. You might want to brush up on your sixth grade geometry.
>>
>>58890260
>std::hypot
Oh, I see.
>you can just use the squared distance.
But calculating the hypot is how I determined distance in the first place. So how are you suggesting I get distance if not by hypot?
>Then if you really need the distance
Of course I need distance. I need distance with each enemy, in order to figure out which one is closest. Your post is confusing.

Is there any way to import my uTorrent 2.2.1 torrents to qBittorrent?

And why the fuck there are two threads?
>>
>>58890342
set your download folder and .torrent folder then just set autoload folder to that in qBit (make sure you turn off autostart DL) then verify everything
>>
>>58890329
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagorean_theorem
a^2 + b^2 = c^2. (where c is the hypotenuse.)
So c = sqrt(a^2 + b^2).
However, it's not necessary to perform this sqrt call. You can just sort them based on the squared distance (a^2 + b^2, or in your case bufferX*bufferX + bufferY*bufferY) to save some unnecessary computation.
It's a very common method that you should know about.

For the same price you're granted to get a similarly speccd machine (if not better) and have enough money to get accessories for it like more memory, additional battery to swap and an SSD.

So on both my desktop and laptop (both running Windows 7, same iso was used for installation for them), I have this kind of bizarre issue that seems to only affect MS Paint. It frequently freezes up from doing any kind of action including typing anything in the save dialog box, or simply opening it up. But it's not as if it's completely frozen. If I right click outside of the window it unfreezes and I can continue my work. It's a bit of a pain in the ass but it's not as if the program is unusable. I think this was happening with Wordpad too but I can't remember and I'm too tired to check.

As I haven't had any issues with other programs I frequently use I thought it was only affect Paint, but now I've discovered that I'm having the same problem elsewhere. I had to use paint.net for some basic image editing and it was as if it froze after every single action instead of just randomly, and in order for it to work I had to right click outside of the window. Every single damn time.

This is so frustrating. Does anyone know why this is happening? I know reinstalling Windows doesn't fix it as I had the same issue before reinstalling. But what's weird is that I've used this same iso for who knows how many different installs over the years and it has never happened before these last three installs. What could it be? Photoshop/GIMP/SAI/pretty much any other photo and illustration program works fine, but not Paint and paint.net. I know I can use those programs instead, but sometimes I just need to use something lightweight for small, unimportant tasks.

on shitty "web hosts", the only filesystem access you have is via FTP
some "web apps" will have you specify an FTP server as at least an alternative for certain file operations
perhaps this client has only used shitty, ftp-only hosts, and is confused by the idea of having full shell access

you can run any web app without an ftp server, ftp is only used by cheap hosts to give restricted filesystem access to accounts that have no shell access

also, what are you doing supporting web "devs" if you don't know this?
