windows, use samba. when I was linux all the way I just used sftp to mount the user dir on my debian box... there are many other more elegant solutions. The sftp dir mount was nice tho because with dyndns I could easily get all my files from anywhere.

not directly. but it does count toward your total data (ul+dl) which you need to increase to rank up.

and it's possible a site you want to join will recruit from btn, and ask for a minimum upload size and/or ratio.

so personally i recommend trying to keep your ratio near 1.0 just in case unless you're in every tracker you care about joining already, and you're not interested in ranking up particularly quickly.

it's probably appealing to upload something huge and have someone leech the full thing from you, but more hassle to keep it alive once people drop it. do small transcodes and seed them 5ever if you want actual uploads.
