After a couple days I read the manual to change the Caps Lock, and realized switching the Caps Lock to be a second FN key is as simple as just switching one of the dip switches on the back.

I never use Caps Lock, so it's awesome to have a FN that I can easily use with either hand

The sound of a keyboard bottoming out is the loudest part about it.
You might consider MX Natural White or whatever if you want to go with Cherry but Matias boards are apparently pretty quiet, possibly quieter than most rubber dome boards.

I heard that it's as quiet as a normal rubber dome and the spacebar isn't even that loud, so it shouldn't be necessary.
But if you wanted to try putting rings on it that might not be possible because of the shape of alps stems, see pic related.

Browns have a really gritty tactile bump, by intention.
When people want smooth switches like those of Gateron, browns are easy to dislike.

I have a normal HHKB and a JP HHKB and the JP feels much heavier.
I think there's a variation but I definitely prefer the lighter versions.

Wow, I think SP have actually improved their dyesub PBT QC. Just got my high contrast granite caps and none of them are significantly warped like previous stuff I've got from them.

The only difference in feel is that the JP version feels heavier. I have not used 55g Topre but if I were to arbitrarily pick weights the normal HHKB would be 45g and the JP version would be at 50g. Not the biggest difference, but I *think* I notice it.
You probably know the normal layout of the HHKB.
