How the fuck do I install a Bluetooth device in Windows 7?

I bought this Insignia USB Bluetooth Adapter but Windows can't find the driver automatically, and when I follow the instructions to the site there's only XP, 8, and 10 drivers.

format the drive
install windows
shrink the partition so you have extra space
install linux you like, it will detect windows and show you bootmenu on start
during install create only single root partition, no swap partition, no separate home, no bullshit

then create manually swap file and add it to fstab
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Swap#Swap_file_creation

you got clean separation of system

now you can also create some extra partition for Data, it needs to be ext4 so its accessible on both system
flag in fstb about "windows_names" is very useful, so linux wont allow you to name shit there ::???=--=faggot?!?!?:::===--
which windows could not deal with

I'm setting up my first SSD + HDD system, never used an SSD before.

How bad is the lifespan of SSD when it comes to the frequent writing of data to them?

I plan to put my OS's (Win 7 for gaming and some software + some Linux distro for programming and work) on SSD. I also want to put more demanding games on an SSD, but what's with the frequent saving, like writing to the drive with an autosave every turn in a turn-based strategy? Is it going to severely limit the lifespan of the drive?

Yesterday I asked about tips for cleaning my laptop for the first time.
I managed to do it, but almost fucked it up completely.
Removing the mobo required too much effort and I didn't do it.
I thought that I broke my CPU or GPU by electrostatic at first, because when it turned on nothing happened, not even a BIOS post.
After taking it apart and back three times I managed to get it work, but I still don't know why this happened.
I'm not sure if I placed the screws in the correct places and the wifi switch broke, so now my wifi will always be on. No fucks given about the switch though.

What is Windows 7 supposedly doing when I check for updates?

I installed SP1 and most of the critical security updates about 3 months ago, and ever since I've been unable to update my system further.

When I press the "check for updates" button my system just keeps hogging CPU usage, filling up the ram, hardly doing any disk activity, and there's little to no network activity, pic related has been running for 21 hours on an i7 laptop with no sign of any updates, I already ran this shit for 48 hours once.

Is there any logical explanation for this bullshit or is it just business as usual from the windows 95 days?
>>
>>58155218
1060 does have a 3GB variant (with cut down core too), and the 960 was available in 4GB too, so it's not that huge a change.

1060 is nearly twice as fast as a 960, so it's not surprising that it comes with a good bit more RAM too

I got a lenovo y700 with UEFI and Windows 10. It has an HDD and a SSD drive.

I want to do the following in this order:

1) Deactivate the product key on Windows 10 on the off chance that I will ever need it.

2) Purge that spyware of my laptop.

3) Install Windows 7 64 bit, but on the SSD only, with access to HDD for storage too.

4) Setup a recovery partition for Win7 on the HDD (or should it rather be on the SSD?).

5) Update Win7 sans the telemetry.

6) (later) Set aside some space on the SSD and Install a Linux distro on it.

Is it doable and how much of a hassle will it be? I would just google a tutorial, but it's suprisingly hard to find a proper one, with my case being so convoluted all over the place.

I'm kind of nervous that I will fuck things up because I've never messed with operating systems before.

To make things harder, I can't open the laptop up, because of the warranty stickers - will that screw with my hard drives endeavors?

Any comments on linux friendliness of the y700 and win7 drivers for it especially welcome.

Anyone have experience with getting Steam cards from Gamestop? I got one about 30 minutes ago from the cute gril manager, she gave me a receipt that matches the card number, so I know it's in their system. But when I try to activate it on steam I get pic-related.

I called up and asked them about it and the lady said after they print the receipt it that means it has already been activated, so I have to call steam support instead (kek). Except that the error on Steam is telling me I need to go back to the retailer if problems persist.

Is there a waiting period before I can activate? How many hours does it take? Could it be Steam's servers having bottle-necking issues due to the holidays? Should I go ask for a refund before Gamestop closes? If I have to wait a couple of days I might as well have just waited for Paypal's 3-5 business days transfer. I was hoping cash would speed things up and put money immediately into my Steam wallet.

Video games and electronic funds/cards are technolo/g/y, so this post should still be on topic.

I need to recover a delete video file off my rooted note 5.

I'm on linux, and the phone has been shut down since the deletion.

I'm reading that it's certainly possible using photorec but it needs the internal storage to be mounted as exactly that, mass storage. I don't know how to do that since android connects via MPT etc.

Should I invest a bit of money in bitcoin? I looked at the value of bitcoin over the past year, and it seems to consistently increase in value over time. Are there any potential negative consequences of buying say like $50 of bitcoin, and waiting like a year or so then trade it back in for cash? I've thought about this for a while, and it seems like it would be a way to make a bit of dough over a year or so. I've never used bitcoin before though, so I may be missing something obvious.

I also had a TX850M PSU, its 3.3V line started falling out of regulation under heavy load after like 4 years, that's not amazing but pretty decent lifespan, especially considering how it was "just" a 850W unit and it ran OC'd 290X CF with an OC'd 4770K/4790K as well. So I keep getting BSODs on windows 10 with a
"Stop Code: system_thread_exception_not_handled
What failed: Dxgmms2.sys"
I'm pretty sure thats a dx12 error since most sites have said that shit. Only problem is no matter how many times I uninstall my AMD driver, and then reinstall either A) The latest driver B) The windows recommended driver or C) The driver I had installed prior to upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10 (the same version just for 10), I keep getting the same BSOD error. Shits nonstop.
It doesn't happen when I game, or when I watch shit on MPC/Potplayer. It mostly just happens when I browse 4chan with Appchan X going, and hovering over images. I don't know if thats the cause, and I'm not asking for tech support.
I just want to know if Firefox can actually trigger a DX12 BSOD. I can try to fix it on my own, just want to know if it's possible so I don't waste my time prodding somewhere the root cause isn't.

The only time i've seen hard crashes like that since even vista were when hardware was to blame. Exactly what, I couldn't say, but i would look into testing the memory, hdd, and doing some stability tests on the cpu and gpu. Its possible the exact moment it crashes is coincidental. Could be from trying to access faulty sectors of memory, overheating, or even a sudden peak in current draw causing a force shutdown to prevent major damage.
If all your hardware checks out i really dont know what else to tell you other than see if you can use something other than firefox.

Obviously this is anecdotal, but I took about 4 college classes and developed several small programs over about a year and a half before I finally "got" programming. That was starting from knowing next to nothing about my particular programming language (C/C++).

Keep at it anon, you'll get it eventually. Try to write some challenge programs to test the things you study in the books. Learning to program is very much a hands on type of learning.

I've been job hunting for a few months with a few interviews here and there, but no real offer yet.

Unfortunately, I only have about 2 years of experience as a research analyst, but I'd like to move more into a more technical role such as data analyst or data scientist. I don't have much experience in programming, but I'm curious if any of those "online certificates" would be actually helpful for me get a job, or if's worth shit.

Anybody have any cool personal projects done with programming? Figured I should get some projects completed and create a portfolio of my work to hopefully up my chances.

are AMD Radeon drivers seriously this fucked? I've got a new laptop with a r7 m445 in it, and the only drivers that somewhat work are the ones straight from dell. these are, of course, a few versions old it seems. I tried downloading the newest ones from amd, but those actually detected my card as m440 and not m445 so obviously I've uninstalled them. then I've tried just updating the ones I have through the AMD settings thingy. obviously, that shit is completely bonked, saying that "everything is installed already" while it clearly doesn't update shit. should I just leave the dell drivers and not bother? is this common?

When music is paused for a while, power saving mode kicks in.
When that happens, noise is emitted to the amplifier, making a lot of noise.
How can I disable it?
It is like that on android and iOS.
For some reason android is very different to Linux when it comes to this. Muting the sound doesn't emit noise.

I know hum destroyers are a thing, but my parents want me to fix it while I am visiting.
Is there an app that play no sound in the background on iOS? Or is there a setting?
They basically want their iPad connected to the amplifier 24/7 and turn it on and off from the iPad.

Today I turned on my monitor after the computer was idled all night long, and it showed me a black screen. it was getting some input from the computer (no "no input" error) but just wouldn't show anything. So after i took out the connection from the graphics card and put it back in I finally got the display back. The graphics card is a new (2 weeks) RX 470 and i've noticed strange behavior such as this when i leave it idle. For example if i leave SpeedFan on (or any monitoring program) to show the temperatures of the gpu, after a night of idle, it shows the temp as -99c. but if i restart the program it shows regular temps and it continues to show normal temps all day long, but the next day after a night of idle, it's back to -99. This obviously isn't a big deal except today i got the black screen thing like i said and i'm afraid it's a developing thing.
What could be the issue? I tried looking into power settings and they all seem normal.

Any suggestions? I'd like it on the cheaper side but USB3.0 kind of makes that impossible, I just want the thing to be reliable and not need a metric fuckton of fiddling and troubleshooting.

Which ISO do you need? (MDL forums would be the exact answer to your question).

Reinstalling windows is the fastest and most effective way.

Other alternative is running adwcleaner, malwarebytes and cleaning the startup list.

W7 Home Premium.
That's what I thought, although I gave this laptop into a shop years ago and he put a bogus version of W7 on here so I don't know if I can use the key that's registered to this when I reinstall Windows.
I'm thinking of using DAZ loader. Would that work?

You upload it via ftp via your seedbox panel or good ole ftp

Look for >en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677332
The filescdn link in the middle will work.

Daz loader is the best option to crack windows 7, just get it from a safe source, again, Mydigitallife forums since that is where it came from.

This one to be exact:

If you want to its up to you.
Btw i send you the ultimate x64 version.

This will help you if updates dont work:
http://wu.krelay.de/en/

For drivers you might want to use 3DPN for network drivers so you can use internet right away.
And 3DPC once you have access to internet (Remember to dont install adware that comes with the installer).
Install Video drivers manually.

Remember to install 4.5 net framework too.

What's the best way to back up drivers?

Actually its easy if you use a program like 3DPN or 3PDC.

So I'm looking at a Dell XPS 13, it's a pretty expensive laptop so I want it to last.
The last few laptops I've had they batteries eventually shit out and it's been difficult to get new ones, and when I did get new chinese knockoff ones they'd only last a few months before being dead again.
How good are Dell batteries lifewise? If they do die, are Dell batteries easier to get a hold of etc?

What's the difference between them? Which one should I use?
>>
>>58168916
anyone have an idea?
>>
>>58169478
Both.

3DPN is for network drivers(will work even of you dont have internet) and 3DPC is for the rest(Reminder to reject the adware that comes with the installer).

You should install video drivers manually.

My Windows 7 Qosmio had been booting very slow. After messing with it for a while I just decided to do a clean install. My laptop is doing the exact same thing. I thought it would have been software related cause after 2 months it finally downloaded all the updates. It has to be hardware related. I didn't change anything. I did put a new processor in it when I rebuilt the laptop back in July. Do you have any idea what it could be?

Does it make sense that i can't see the windows 7 bootup screen after i've installed the gpu drivers?
When i've first installed the graphics card, no drivers, i saw it fine, including the F8 menu before the os boots, but after i've installed the drivers, the moment it supposed to show the boot screen, and if i press F8, the monitor goes 'no input' and i don't see anything until the desktop shows up. I thought drivers only start up when the os starts up, so this shouldn't have affected it, yet somehow it did. How can i fix it?

You can't plug it into both. I assume what you've got there is a floppy power connector, not a fan connector.

CS generally includes more of the theoretical/mathematical background, SE will generally include more design and engineering practice. It's a pretty fuzzy line and varies significantly with what uni you're going to.

he internet speed will drop to an unusable speed and only returns to normal when I reboot the modem. Sometimes I have to reset if 5/6/7 times to get a consistent connection which could last anywhere between 5 hours or it might last 30 mins before I have to reset the modem again. Strangely, if the speed drops, I've found that if I don't use the PC right away and connect via Wifi, the connection seems more stable. When I wake up in the morning, I can always use the internet on my ipad and phone which are connected via wifi, but when I try to use internet though my PC, I have to reset the modem to try get a stable connection.

I also get a good connection after say 9-10pm where the connection seems more stable. I thought it might be congestion, but would the wifi work well if there was congestion?

Any ideas?

When you touch, and maintain the touch, after like a second it's like you lift your finger off, like, for example, if you tap and hold an icon after a moment the icon drops itself like you lifted your finger when you didn't

Apparently it's not necessary though, which is fine since it'll make cable management easier.
