Well I liked them, they were good. Good design, good sound, but they were pretty fast dead

SHE3590
Better sounding than the HJE125K, and fits better imo.

I've had mine for a year so far and no signs of breakage.
>>
>>57983173
Same sound.
>>57983216
Better sound but worse fit and worse microphonics to me.
>>
>>57983173
they might have been fake

there's way more fakes than legit ones on the market

youth edition is basically the same but with a flat cable and you don't get the cool box thingy

Look around yourself maybe
125k has 4.6 on amazon, 120k has 4.4
can't find comparison discussions other than the non k versions and I'm not sure if there's differences there
hell I don't even know what the difference is between the two
>>
>>57983230
Fit is kinda subjective in the end. I ram the SHE's in my ear and never have to fiddle with them. The HJE take more to get them to sit right in my experience.

Can agree with the microphonics though.

I can't recall any Beyers having nominal impedance of 500 Ohms. 600 Ohms yes, not that it matters.

Literally zero information. Why would anyone take your(or whoever else is shilling them) for granted? It's just "Hey these sound good to me. Believe me. Buy them." repeated all over again. With the level of experience I'd expect people in /csg/ or Ali/Ebay etc to have with in-ears and audio gear, it makes these posts even less interesting. More so as I've personally heard so many cheap in-ears and none of them were good, not even sound wise.

Get someone to measure the cheap shits so we can actually see how they do. I wouldn't be surprised if they fall to the exact same category as 99% of the cheap in-ears which is:

>stupid amount of bass
>uneven treble response, canal resonances everywhere
>poor qc, poorly matched channels
>shit fit, three tips included
>bulky and heavy metal housing because muh build quality = uncomfortable, easily fall off
>hardwired cable that tangles on itself
>non-replaceable filters

Yeah true, for 3 bucks you don't really expect much but I'd figure many people who want decent quality are willing to pay a little more to get something better.

>>57985058
No because Sennheiser does not have a house sound(their products are all over the place) and people call all kinds of different responses "veiled" when it masks things they are expect to hear more clearly.

Yes, I got mine on sunday, this is my first amp/dac and I am very impressed. It sounds good to me, and was the perfect solution for active speakers/headphones. I like that I can leave the phones plugged in, and use the switch to switch to the speakers and control the volume with the origen. Installing drivers on my win10 laptop was a little fucky, they are unsigned, but after jumping through some hoops it works great.

I don't have any reference to compare it to besides my desktop's shitty, noisy onboard audio, and it is 100% better, even the speakers sound better.

I kind of fell like the Fulla 2 may have been better, it just has a higher end look to it, but I love the toggle switch on the Origen+ and not having to plug/unplug phones all the time.

anybody here has the experience of driving LCD2 with DACport?

Based from calculation on digizoid.com having considered lCD2 resistance of 72 ohms and eficiency of 101dB / 1mW, this is the numbers i got.

having said that, theoretically any portable amps can drive LCD2 efficiently, or is there something that i dont understand?

I assume youre talking about the 668b
Their build is actually really fuckin decent. The metals used are hard as shit to saw though. A lot harder than mild steel from what I could tell. The plastics feel cheap but are about average. It's not quite the same as the nicer plastics on Beyers and shit.

That said, 668B's are quite similar to DT 990's with less sub-bass. They're very bright.
The 668b's main sellers are soundstage and imaging. They're essentially incredibly cheap alternates to the AT-ADx series. Their actual sound is kind of grainy, but still fantastic for under $40.

Here's a pic of my 668b's mid modification on a messy ass workbench. They're a bit different now that they're finished but whatever.

See if you can find a pair of K553 pro's on the cheap. They get down to ~$120 pretty often. That should fit your requirements to a T. The only issue you might have is that they aren't the MOST comfortable, as the headband could use more padding, but you can always fix that if need be.

Pleb reporting in. My second Bose Quietcomfort broke and I think I'm getting memed on, so I'm defering to you guys to find me something good.

Budget - 200 to 250. If there's something cheaper that you feel can serve my purposes feel free.

Location - USA. Jew York, Jew York.

Source - My smartphone, laptop, gaming computer, and PS4

Type of headphone - Full-sized

Open or closed - Closed

Comfort level: I want it to cover my ears and be soft. So a bit comfortable, i guess, but i'll settle for "not distracting/digging uncomfortably into my ear."

Sound signature: - bassy

Past headphones (Skip if you're lazy) - Quiet Comfort Q3, Quiet Comfort Q4. I liked the sound quality itself, but I don't feel like it really "cancelled" outside noise.

Also, minor addition: I'm not against flashy designs Like I'm fine with both of the earmuffs standing out visually - they don't gotta stand out but I like interesting/gimmicky aethetics.
>>
Do you guys use different headphones outside or take you're home pair with you?

Replaced the drivers with drivers from some old Senny headphone, and applied various dampening/clay mods. Also added HM5 Angle padss, and one of them Beyer removable headband pads. I'll probably take a photo some day.

They pretty damn good. They're similar to my Argons in terms of signature, and detail is respectably close. Soundstage and imaging is a fair bit worse of course, and comfort isn't nearly as good as the Argons due to the ZMF and weird strap thing.

That said they're surprisingly sturdy. I dont know what plastic they used but shieeeeet, they've lasted weeks of being slammed. I just shove them in my bag and forget about them. Often lean against my bag on public transport and they've never been broken.

Even if they did. it'd likely just be the headband or forks that break. So as long as the cups are in tact, I could just buy another pair and salvage the headband from that for only $15 USD + shipping.

One of my favorite mod results. Measured distortion a while back and its actually not as bad as I thought it would have been.

Should try velours on the COP's. I didn't like the stock pads but velours brought the mids up and increased soundstage.

Beyer velours might not do that much though because they seal a lot more than AKG type velours

All I can find is AKG K712PRO, and it's a mere 30 euros less at 270, so it's still way beyond my budget. I'll try velour pads to open up soundstage for my COPs and see what happens.

I've done my own research on this for some time, and the Sennheiser HD 598 would be in my ballpark, but I have no idea how the sound would turn out. I just don't have the money to buy half a dozen different headphones before I find the right one.

K240 pads should work
https://www.thomann.de/gb/akg_k240270271_velour_ohrpolster.htm
They're a bit larger than COP's so they spin and arent exactly that tight. When I tried them I put some double sided tape over the rim and that fixed it.

But that said, you may want to get Brainwavz pads. They're a lot thicker [especially if you get the angled ones] so even if you didn't get the velour ones they'd still give more soundstage. They also fit a lot better to the COP's.
http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-angled-memory-foam-earpad-black-velour-suitable-for-large-over-the-ear-headphones

You can get hybrids too if you want to keep more of the low end and isolation.
http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-hybrid-memory-foam-earpad-black-suitable-for-large-over-the-ear-headphones
Not as thick though.

I put ZMF pads on my COP's, but I don't think you'd be wanting to spend $50 USD on just pads.

Get a FiiO K1. 40 USD, Decent headphone amp for future headphones that need more power, Decent Audio Chip, and it gets no static (even with the front USB ports on a shitty PC case).

It's the size of a USB stick, has a single headphone output on one side, and a female usb micro port to be connected to a cable that's connected to a PC or mobile phone.

Good shit.

If it helps alter sound characteristics, it's still better than buying another pair of cans for 200 with only a marginal tonal difference.

RECOMMEND ME SOMETHING

$150/under

looking for over the ear headphones with a strong clean sound and clear not overwhelming bass

for music
>>
>>58006174
It does, but I'd assume velour or hybrids increase the soundstage further, if that's all you're after.

ZMF's keep the fairly heavy low end and recessed mids, whereas the velours would presumably nearly do the opposite. Hybrids probably somewhere in between. Not sure what tonal differences you're wanting.

Both would increase soundstage.

ZMF's are vastly more comfortable, not that either is bad, but obviously get more stuffy, like any sealed pad. They're lambskin though so they breathe better than pleather at least.
>>
>>58006285
Fill out the form.
>>
>>58006339
Not easy to explain. Like I said, I don't know what soundstage is, because I never experienced it before, I've only read it described. I'm really just after more spatial presence in my music, that's all. With my stock COP I don't hear anything placed around me, everything I hear is in my head, in the space between the left and right earpieces. Proper soundstage should be able to produce a sound that places instruments in a 3 dimensional space around me, or so I've read, that's what I am after, or at least an improvement towards that experience.
>>
>>58006285
Was about to say what kind of headphones

So these popped up

99
>>
>>58006419
That's a pretty damn perfect explanation. I'm not sure how much youre going to get out of your COP's alone. You might be better off selling them and buying something similarly priced.

I can recommend Modhouse Argons, since that's where I got my ZMF pads from. Insane soundstage and great low end. I only have my COP's because I'm too lazy to sell shit. They're $250 USD so they're a bit above your budget, but I'm not sure if you factored in selling your COPs, if you arent opposed to that. I haven't heard any closed bassy headphone that is able to replicate the soundstage and imaging of them to date. They're similar to Mad Dogs if you're familiar with them, but have even more soundstage.

Ask for other recommendations here. I'm just one person. Though you'll likely just get DT 770 recommended a lot, which will be hardly any different to COP's with Beyer velours.

Thank you so much for your help, I have a lot more information now than I had a couple hours before, I might even consider having the Modhouse Argons shipped to my Austrian friend. I'm not sure if I'm willing to sell my COPs just yet, I make it a habit not to sell anything I'm replacing, before I make sure, that the replacement is worth having the first place. I can return new stuff for a refund, but I can't back out of a second-hand sale.
