We do. It's called Europe.
Germans are the engineers, without which you can't do shit in Silicon Valley.
Slavs are the mathematicians and programmers.
Scandinavians and Swiss are the bankers.
The Swiss, French, and Brits are the scientists.
The rest of Europe is a mix.

And whole of Europe has better Internet than Silicon Valley, even some 2nd world and 3rd world countries.

Why doesn't Grease or Binland contribute anything? Huh.

Maybe, but an European invented telephone exchange, which made landlines possible, which made the internet possible.

>By that logic, Toyota's cars are American because it was the US who reconstructed Japan after WWII

Toyota was founded before WW2, and even post-WW2 it had Japanese people building cars there, not americans.

>Using that same logic, everything from China is actually Mongolian because the Mongols had conquered China

Chinese people existed before Mongolians invaded.

USA people did not exist however. They are descendants of European outcasts and African slaves. Likewise how Australia as it is today was built up of prisoners exiled from the British empire.

More importantly: why doesn't Silicon Valley look like Manhattan?

S.V. is the most boring shithole on the planet. I interviewed for a position in Fremont and couldn't believe how fucking long it took to drive there from Oakland.

BART is disgusting and shitty. CalTrans is slightly nicer, but they still only do the absolute minimum possible to meet legislated requirements. Like the car they "built" for bicycles. All the did, quite literally, was pull out half the seats. Then you just lean your bike against the wall of the car, or against other bikes. How the fuck are you supposed to get your bike out if there are four more stacked against it?

Rent is absolutely insane, and forget about a mortgage unless you're willing to buy an absolute shithole (e.g. cracked foundation requiring and all-cash purchase because nobody will finance it) in a terrible neighborhood. Your only hope is to hit it big in the startup lottery. The only people under 50 in the Bay Area that I know who own homes are people who got *extremely* lucky and got in on a huge IPO. For example, the Googler who started literally a month before they IPO'd.

And the money. Holy shit, it attracts the worst people. All the Project Managers and Managers I had were profoundly incompetent. They just got into the game hoping to rake in money. Then the devs, who get flogged to death in the interview process, and have relentless downward pressure on their salaries, are stuck picking up the slack for them. Like the idiot CEO I had who would make ludicrous promises to people when he demo'd the product, then he seriously thought we would work 14 hour days through the weekend to make his absurd promises a reality.

Ugh. Some of the worst kind of people are drawn to S.V. like flies to shit.

So fuck that. S.V. is the last thing countries should hope to attain. Instead, they should focus on infrastructure (including Internet) to enable geographically diverse development.
>>

>don't you have to go make sure Ahmed isn't being too rough while raping your wife?

>Why don't Europeans have a massively-inflated bubble like we do :^(
>Why aren't Europeans so retarded to build a fourth of the cane their entire existence leans on with companies that will evaporate instantly in the next crash :^((

protip fellow amerilards: Not ONE of the top companies in your IT sector meets the output to justify the current capitalization. Google's main revenue, ads, are already dying. Microsoft is releasing shitty, unoptimized OS that other people code for free and in a better quality. The sole thing that makes it even remotely relevant is DirectX and the gaming industry, which will soon be replaced by the coalition of companies that are trying to make OpenGL better. The entire office package has already been made free and open source via several different ways. The rest of the sector is experiencing an ever-rising piracy both domestically, and especially in the rest of the world where the government cannot enforce copyright efficiently. Social Medias are becoming harder and harder to monetize. Games are transitioning towards lower-quality f2p models because people simply refuse to pay anymore. Moore's law is starting to break. An incoming stagnation in the whole AI industry and a capital flight will follow once people realize that they got baited into investing in statistical machines, not actual AI. Cloud services promote industrial hardware over personal hardware, which will lead to stagnation in the latter. And so on.

Europe VS America arguments always make me laugh. Why you ask? Because it's so amusing that so many little Euros think they're superior to the US, yet just to make a comparison between their land and the US they have to include the entire continent of Europe.

Ever seen a UK vs US? It's an absolute shitshow, same as any euro country vs US. Only the biggest idiot would actually be proud of winning an argument of achievement versus Americans when they have to include their entire fucking continent for a fighting chance.

Oh, I'll gladly answer that - the Union has the same market capitalization, without having to resort to inflating its IT sector to achieve it.

By the way, it hasn't even finished the economical unification yet - we're merely still building our interstate. There's so much room for potential growth.

There is no way for any other state except Texas to legally secede.

If, on the other hand, citizens of a state decide they want to become independent, they can achieve this by having their representatives/congress vote on it and writing up a declaration of independence. This, however, would be considered rebellion and it is likely the United States would react by sending in the military to quash the rebels and retake control of the state.

Probably because one of the first patents for something resembling an automobile was filed in America in the 18th century. It's really difficult to pinpoint that sort of thing because of the era it happened it. I think it's fair to say that development of the car was concurrent on several continents. But the closest thing to the cars we've had for the last century was developed by Cadillac.

That's an excellent question.
Agglomeration factors in European economy are a bit different and skewed, mainly because the Union is rather young and it has still fairly national internet communities - not in the sense of actual walls but due to very different regulations and languages in each state. You'd already need a lot of manpower and by that high amount of money to become relevant unionwide. Making a market entry much more probably from an established foreign company than from a new own one.

For general agglomeration like silicon valley, another factor is also important: We do not have distinguished population hotspots. In Areas where they exist, Europe has agglomerated industries, for example the metropolic region of Stuttgart is in the center of Europe, embedded within areas where there is less population, like the black forest. it makes a whole lot of people that want to make a living wander off to the region, making it more probable they will found a company there. Specialisation is then a consequence of a lot of competition - in this case, cars, development services and car accessoires. It doesn't have a fancy name though. America is different there. Huge parts of the Population live in relatively confined areas.

Last but not least Europe's political agendas that are heavily nationally scattered. Forced agglomeration is mainly regional, with a regional pool of people. There have been puny attempts to create hotspots, but they generally fail because every country wants a hotspot within its own borders.

tl;dr Europe is yet not a Union like the USA, Europe does not have industry hotspots like the USA.

Is birthplace of Nokia that still owns the patents to fuckton of things even Apple still uses, (Nokia phones is no more but Nokia as a company still exists). Google seems to be interested about Finland so they have opened few new data centers there and plan to invest more in future.

Just go to wikipedia or read some news for once in a while, you can find out some shit about random countries that way.

They have a heavy investment in internet technologies, e-Learning, biotech and other pharma projects. Plenty of app devs on different platforms come from Greece. Their prime minister has proposed a Technology Park in Athens for Chinese (Huawei).

Greece has already established itself as an local / international hub for clinical trials. Major pharmaceutical companies seem to be investing in Greece.

Greece also seems to have some interest in drones and robotics although it's a new thing there.

Greece also has Observatory in Athens that is involved in a Mars study.... etc.

Seems like it also has something to contribute to the world.

It's all good soon the EU will crumble and Europe might become great again.
>>
>>57784670
No. The race for economic centre of the world.
I write this as a European myself, but look at where most supertalented people end up. All leave for America at some point. We like to make fun of streetshitters etc but what does Europe receive? Only talented eastern-Europeans move here, most migrants are low skilled retards.

Meanwhile Silicon Valley is filled with the brightest bunch of people from all over the globe. That race we lost.
>>
>>57783799
>make
They manufacture them. Like put parts in the right place.
Meanwhile the Americans develop them.

What do you think is worth more and gives a country a real competetive edge? The 'technology' to glue a screen on a metal plate or the facilities to design computers that fit in your pocket?
>>
>>57784854
>The 'technology' to glue a screen on a metal plate or the facilities to design computers that fit in your pocket?
Well, the technology to glue a screen on to a metal plate has lifted a quarter billion people out of poverty in China and shifted them from working class to middle class, meanwhile the American middle class is continously shrinking and employment rates among former industry workers has skyrocketed.

Why do you think Trump was voted president? He want's to make America great again, by bringing production back to the US.
>>
>>57784896
Yes but the mere fact Trump can shift production shows how weak manufacturing is vs technological developments.

Can China just demand to start researching their own iPhones now? No, it will require trillions and a decade.
Meanwhile Trump can just change free trade laws and production will move within a few years.

That's the strength of western economies. You cannot simply copy high-tech things. Some companies like Dutch ASML have a near monopoly because competing with them is nearly impossible. Same goes for Intel, they're lightyears ahead.
>>
>>57784940
>Can China just demand to start researching their own iPhones now? No, it will require trillions and a decade.
Well, they're currently world leading in solar energy technology, which is partly why Trump is calling the whole climate change thing a hoax because he wants to hurt Chinese economy.

They also have a very strongly blooming car industry, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw predominantly Chinese cars on European roads in 5-7 years.
>>
>>57784896
To give you an idea, look at all the phones the Chinese make themselves. Huawei, Meizu, etc.
What advanced things do they REALLY do? Quallcomm processors from the USA, Android from the USA. I even doubt they designed the screens themselves. At best they developed their own battery which is like 80 year old technology by now.
>>
>>57785008
>cars
Once again this isn't high-tech anymore. Combustion engine is ancient and can be copied/build by a team of highschool engineers.
>>
>>57785017
To the economy it doesn't matter. Chinese economy is blooming, America's is going down the drain and I seriously doubt Trump's plan to supply the ever growing Chinese middleclass with consumer products made in the US is going to change anything.

The only solution is to do it like the Chinese, fuck over worker's and human rights, buy into all sorts of so-called "unethical" industries in Africa and Asia, force people to work the jobs you want them to, immediately cancel all government handouts, go full on communist-style planned economy etc.
>>
>>57785048
>>57785017
And a strong economy attracts businesses. The tech industry in Silicon Valley didn't get big because people just happened to get together and invent clever stuff. It got big because US economy was already the strongest and people wanted in on that.

A strong middle class that moves away from being producers to consumers, will start attracting high-tech companies.
>>
>>57785048
For what purpose? Compete with the Chinese on who makes the greatest fridge magnets?

If we keep on innovating believe me the Chinese will never catch up on us. Let them build trash for €0.50/hour, while we can go ahead and create new things for €70k/year.
>>
FYI Trump's position on manufacturing is that he plans to automate what is already heading that path now and have Americans build the robots that manufacture the product. He's actually said this about automation and knows where things are headed.
>>
>>57785077
>For what purpose?
To enjoy economic prosperity, and also see >>57785070

>If we keep on innovating
My point is that this is a huge if. Especially now that Trump will pretty much defund all major universities and his "lol no brown people may enter USA" will ensure that all the academic and industry conferences previously held in the US will for sure be held in Asia and in Europe now. Some companies will probably even move their offices abroad because of Trump's special tax plans on companies that employ non-americans.

>>57785165
>He's actually said this about automation and knows where things are headed.
Trump doesn't know shit about industry and automation. The guy is a glorified real-estate agent.
>>
>>57785207
>glorified real-estate agent
Becomes a billionaire twice and won the presidency. He also did it without support from the political machines. I doubt he's some glorified idiot. You keep trying to push that huge rock up the mountain. I don't disagree with the sentiment that many who are wealthy elites in business/tech are worthy of praise or are more intelligent.
>>
>>57785259
>Becomes a billionaire twice
He inherited money from his father, rich people are wealthy and further expand their wealth what's your point? As you said, wealth elites finds ways to remain wealthy.

He's still a glorified real-estate agent, he knows nothing about other markets or industries which is proven by his consistent chain of bankruptcies when venturing outside of real-estate.

>and won the presidency
So did a fucking nigger, that's like the lowest bar ever.

>He also did it without support from the political machines
That's not true. He had the republican party in his back, and a series of vocal supporters among republicans and within fox news.

>I doubt he's some glorified idiot
Just look at his statements, he's going to take the US into a tradewar with China and his major plan to "save" the economy is to attempting some grand shift from tertiary industry back to primary and secondary industry (because of his fixation and envy of China and their growing economy) in addition to force a tax hell on everyone wanting free access to foreign markets.

He's also planning on excessive spending on infrastructure while at the same time promising tax cuts and drastically reducing public spending, so I'm looking forward to see how he's going to pull of that magic trick.

My absolute biggest concern with Trump though, is his insistence on reviving the coal industry, that shut down because it simply isn't profitable. I'm not sure in what world subsidiaries to the coal industry and artificial taxes on clean energy is a sane move, other than keeping a bunch of uneducated peasants in the rust belt occupied so he gets another term.
>>
>>57785335
Oh shit so Trump has been a ruse all along?
>>
>>57785335
>He inherited money from his father, rich people are wealthy and further expand their wealth what's your point?
No they do not. You can go from millionaire to broke if you make mistakes as with any bracket.

>his consistent chain of bankruptcies when venturing outside of real-estate.
Most businesses fail within two years (80%). It's common. A few hiccups seems irrelevant.

>So did a fucking nigger
Obama had power brokers and a giant mafia (Democrat Party) behind him. Media prop machine was also propping him up. Banks picked his cabinet.

>That's not true. He had the republican party in his back, and a series of vocal supporters among republicans and within fox news.
Saying it doesn't make it true anon. Conservative/neocon papers/media/online almost all were entirely against his nomination. The RNC was not open to him until he was a shoe in and made a deal. This is evident in the lead up to convention where the party setup roadblocks on multiple occasions to prevent his surrogates from representing him. Lest we forget that despite all this the false flags/gaslighting/bird dogging/paid protestors/race riots supported by the DNC and our local/state/federal governments.

>Just look at his statements
Things have been working so well with the status quo. You really have your finger on the pulse of the nation.

>He's also planning on excessive spending on infrastructure while at the same time promising tax cuts and drastically reducing public spending
Oh you mean like previous administrations? Complaining about lower taxes I'd remind you of the laffer curve. The middle class is the bedrock of every economy. Small to medium business is part of that bedrock.

>keeping a bunch of uneducated peasants in the rust belt occupied
There we go the uneducated peasants line. We see the fascist regressive come out. Simple solution is to remove regulations, barriers, subsidies, and what roadblocks are in place to all energy sources and see who is more cost effective.
>>
>>57784854
The largest amount of robots and other manufacturing machines is not a competitive edge? The chinese design their own smartphones, fab their own chips. Keep deluding yourself Keep thinking that they only "glue on screens to a metal plate".
>>
>>57785675
Do you seriously believe that being backed by Republican heavyweights such as Newt Gingrich is "standing on your own", anon?

>Simple solution is to remove regulations, barriers, subsidies, and what roadblocks are in place to all energy sources and see who is more cost effective.
FYI coal industry was dead even before CO2 emissions became taxed.

Approx 50% of all useful inventions ever used by mankind came from England, which is in yurop.

Claiming you don't own anything European is basically saying you don't own anything electronic since LEDs are used universally and guess where those came from.

Yet my nodegree machinistbros make bank altering machinery the Nazis send to their tire plant where I live because design sucks + workmanship +choice of materials a shit. Metal is probably from Turkey and looks it.
