How I did it: Take the What.CD interview in like 2008/2009, became PU, joined SCC, PTP, HD-Torrents, IPTorrents. Eventually BTN emerged, too, got an invite for that. On PTP I became Torrent King, and eventually HDBits started recruiting TM+ on PTP, so that's that. Now I am on PTH through HDBits, but I could have gotten there through BTN or PTP too.

On what (previously), PTP, and animebyt.es, they have a "better.php" page. This shows all torrents that have a lossless format (DVD9, Bluray, FLAC, etc.) but don't have the relevant encodes (x264, xvid, or mp3).
