There are several accepted formats but most can be trumped by flac and the "perfect 3" mp3 bitrates (320, v0, v2). One common exception you might see is iTunes exclusive releases that only came out I'm aac 256 therefore are not trumpable. Just download flac then convert it to whatever format you like.
