Really? Finally, as a Ubuntu user, I don't have to feel inferior to Arch users. And after all, Arch users are perpetually inferior to Void Linux users. Do you seriously think any of these people know what systemd is? No, and they blindly trust the developers out of ignorance, while the developers have admitted their core reason for adopting systemd was out of convenience.

Heard about this GPU passthrough thing

Something's been bothering me though. Say you need a dedicated GPU for that Windows VM, does that mean that -even- when you're not using said VM, you do need to use your other GPU at all times on linux?

I have intel 4600 HD integrated graphics, I remember a while ago anything heavy such as KDE/Gnome was just terrible on it. Ain't there a way of switching GPUs when you don't need to use Windows?
>>
>>57292814
Also libc6
>>
>>57292838
If you can't handle your system while the VM runs you should consider dual-booting anyway.

And yes, basic GPU pass-through setup makes your GPU unusable all the time. You'd need a more sophisticated setup.

I'm getting a new laptop soon, and it has WinTen on it. I'm wary of...well, just about everything having to do with WinTen - I've heard horror stories about updates crashing systems and the telemetry bullshit - so I was thinking about putting a Linux distro on the laptop.

>The point here is that the university/whoever doesn't have to hold your hand since you're able to help yourself.
Linux users don't magically understand how every piece of software works. They use the documentation. If there's no documentation for ProprietaryWirelessDriverShitUniEdition on Linux then the school has effectively banned Linux. I can figure out how undocumented legacy code works too, but I'd rather not and expecting that I or other people should is a dick move.

Explain to me how the nazis were left wing, I'm curious. Everyone says to me the nazis were right wing and fought the evil homosexuality race mixing supporting communist left wing international bankers.
>>
>>57296110
Socialists.
>>
>>57296130
That was just in the title to get the working class support. Hitler hated socialistic ideas like welfare.

Probably because some other keybinds you have use that combination.

They weren't socialists. North Korea is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and they aren't democratic.

if you know what nazi stands for you're pretty close to solving this riddle
>everyone says
your sources are shit if that's the case. i'd suggest you don't take advice from them on political topics
>fought the left wing international bankers.
and supported left wing national bankers instead
what a huge fucking difference
>>57296150
yeah that makes sense i'm sure their leftist economic policies were just to get working class support i'm sure they didn't actually believe in them
>>57296167
but they are democratic. you don't have to have fair elections to be democratic.
>>
>>57291295
Debian sid. I try not to shitpost too much.
>>57296196
He wouldn't since they use inherently different concepts.
Qubes virtualizes everything and tries very hard to be secure and privacy oriented, manjaro guys more or less try to do the thing buntu did with debian with arch.
>>
>>57296150
Its more complicated than that. Hitler appears to be more like De Gaulle, but without any need to support the bourgeoisie. He isn't super interested in economics and the reform comes from the bureaucrats he surrounds himself with.

>but they are democratic. you don't have to have fair elections to be democratic.

You're dumb as fuck mate.
>>
>>57296240
In what ways were the elections in Hitlerite Germany unfair? I'm curious about this. I've read books that talk about the "mystery of the Nazi's rise to power", but I don't understand why it's a mystery. The people supported him. Am I missing something?
>>
>>57296240
looks like you're the dumb one here mate.
democratic doesn't have any connotations of being corrupt or not corrupt. it's just a certain type of government.
>>
>>57296256
> I've read books that talk about the "mystery of the Nazi's rise to power", but I don't understand why it's a mystery.
don't read shitty left wing "literature" that's my only advice to you mate
>>
>>57296218
>i'm sure they didn't actually believe in them

You think the Nazis were composed of aristocrats?
>>
>>57296240
That part is true though. Attic democracy didn't have elections at all, and that's where the term originated.
>>
>>57296260
>democratic
>based on a form of government in which the people choose leaders by voting

I mean are you trolling me or are you really this fucking dumb?
>>
>>57296299
Saying it's "corrupt" doesn't change anything. Modern democracies are "corrupt". America's democracy is "corrupt". It isn't until you define "corrupt" that we can determine if Germany had a real democracy or not at that time.
>>
>>57296103
the original appears to be VFR (variable frame rate), owing by the odd fps (27.84) and high timebase (90k)

i haven't dealt with VFR videos much, so i'm looking into it a bit more

ffmpeg is outputting a 30fps non-VFR video, which appears to be fine for this short clip
>>
>>57296287
It was in a forward to a translation of Mein Kampf. I guess that sort of thing is obligatory. (No, I don't actually like Hitler.)
>>
>>57296317
What the fuck are you talking about? There are no elections in North Korea you fucking birdbrain. North Korea is not democratic in ANY sense of the word "democratic", this is obvious. Yet they still have "democratic" in their name, meaning the name of something doesn't mean much.
>>
>>57296347
We're talking about Germany, not best Korea.
>>
>>57296299
yeah that's correct. you could literally force them to vote at gunpoint and it would still technically be "people choosing their leaders by voting"
>>57296317
we aren't even talking about germany though
>>57296334
well that explains a lot, don't read leftist "literature" like Mein Kampf next time (for gaining knowledge that is, leftist books a fun read if you treat them as a comedy of sorts) and you'll be all set
>>57296347
>There are no elections in North Korea
Wrong. they are a one-party republic and they have fake elections.

Do you even read what you post? I mean you're literally saying North Korea, the most well-known one-party totalitarian dictatorship in the world is DEMOCRATIC.

You're either trolling or really dumb, either way I'm not wasting any more time.

They have elections. They could be as fake as fucking possible but they'd still be considered a democracy strictly speaking. The word democracy doesn't have any connotations of being fair or not having corrupt elections.
>You're either trolling or really dumb, either way I'm not wasting any more time.
same here, you must be fucking trolling if you think that you need to have non-corrupt elections to be democratic

looks like -vsync 2 is what you want for these

for testing, add "-preset ultrafast" after "-c:v libx265", this will make larger files, but will encode much quicker, so you can more quickly check the results
