I upgraded from a moto g1 to a moto g4
I saw no reason to upgrade until they actually put a 1080p screen on it.
Not sure what my next upgrade will be. I don't think anything past 1080 makes a difference on a phone and processors are just a meme.
Maybe an that LG phone with the beefy audio chip so I can ditch my Fiio X3 and only carry one device around but that will be way down the line in maybe three years.

I'm pretty much a pleb when it comes to smartphones. I got a g4 plus because of the fingerprint reader, but you can get the Amazon version with ads for 150 bucks. That's a steal desu, and you can easily remove the ads.
Coming from a g1 it was a massive improvement, so I would definitely recommend.

The Moto G4 is amazing. Have had it for the past few months and haven't had any issues major issues. The only thing that can bug me a little is that the volume and power buttons feel cheap, but I don't notice that at all since I use a case. Seriously, for $200, go for it. Wonderful phone

I have a $70 cellphone with removable battery, modified so I have 64gb sdcard that replaces 'internal storage', and mass-storage mode. It's rooted, solid custom rom, solid custom recovery, great display, good battery life, works great, no problems at all. Why the hell would I replace it? I might buy a second identical one as a backup, though.

Doubt I'll get another pair of headphones until they completely break down, which I dont know if they will judging by the fact that there's no visible signs of wear anywhere

Use a video player to play videos. I bet it could handle 1080p.
>>

It has no problems with a video player, I was talking about Youtube and the like. It sucks, meanwhile my phone can handle it with no problem.

thinkpad t510
macbook pro circa 2010
macbook air circa 2011
shitty sennheiser on-ear headphones circa like 1990. like the dinky, computer-grey-plastic kind that bleed like hell out of the speakers
iphone 5s which is relatively new, but i mean phones go bad pretty quick nowadays

That's what I mean. Use a video player for YouTube.

Original Moto X = a truly God tier device, even today. The Active Display feature (vastly better than Samsung's Always On Display and any other competing feature from other brands) as well as the Touchless Control (look kids, everybody else has to actually push a button on their devices to to be able to speak to them) are amazing in use.

It sorta sucks that even today's flagship devices 3 years later can't do that kind of stuff properly.

I miss my Moto X.

So what?

E8400 here. I see people saying the q6600 is a good cheap upgrade for low(low....low) end gaming. Isn't the e8400 better since most apps still don't effectively use multi threads?

I have the hd558s and I agree. I think the cheapest the 598s went for in Canada was $99, so going off their list price is kinda tough when assessing value. The entire hd5*8 series, at their lowest, hangs around $90(with the 518 having the smallest discount, and the 598 getting slashed by literally 200% sometimes)

Wish I had grabbed the black 598s when I saw them, but the difference between them really is just the ear and head pad foam.

I still have my Kindle 3(keyboard) and a prs-505(it was Sony's first serious ereader. Came with leather cover. Out case was all metal. Screen was considered the best for like 3 years till Kindle started using the pearl rink display)

There's literally no reason other than battery life(no longer holding a charge) to upgrade an e-reader.

a touchscreen is pretty good if you use the dictionary a lot

it's worse if you don't though
>>
>>57142545
Yeah, my 3rd ereader is a prs 600(resistive touch screen). Even if it didn't have horrible viewing, I'd prefer the prs505 and Kindle 3. At the very least I want the page turn buttons. Too many ereader ditched them in the subsequent versions. My dad has a Kobo aura. Don't like it at all.
>>
>>57142455
Wouldn't getting slashed by 200% mean that they're paying you?
>>
>>57142672
Year, sry. I mean the orig price is 3x that of the sale price. So it's a 66% cut.(and costs and additional 200% when not on sale)
