How do I get good upload ratio on What.cd?

I've had an account for around 2 years now but I've always only downloaded shit on freeleech and even then it's shit no one is really looking for so I don't get much upload ratio from it (if at all).

I'm nearing the download limit where they will start requiring I get a better ratio, and I honestly do want to be a contributing member but I can't imagine there being much to do other than literally buying super obscure releases and ripping them for the site. (which they'll probably already have anyways cause it's what.cd)

It's not about how old the release is, it's about how popular the artist is. I've gotten great upload ratios on the new Avalanches and Dinosaur Jr. albums from being within an hour or so of when they were uploaded.

Call them sour grapes if you want, but it really isn't that difficult. Plenty of people get by just fine on what.cd without seedboxes.

I don't even really know how to answer the question it's so basic, this should be in the rules of whatever tracker you're in.

Seeding is a state where you can, but not necessarily will, upload data for other people to download. Torrent clients'll usually have a stat somewhere on every torrent that'll tell you your upload.

Your ratio is your downloaded data, compared to your uploaded data. Your ratio needs to be greater than your required ratio, if the site doesn't just require a basic 1:1.
If the tracker has a flexible required ratio, it'll be based on the data you've downloaded and the number of torrents you're actively seeding. The more torrents, percentage-wise, you seed the lower your required ratio will be.
