Is this motherboard failure? I blacklisted all of the addresses I could get from memtest, but what's weird is the number of faulty addresses seems to be increasing by the day. I recently got another undebuggable problem like that, popped into memtest and found 9 new faulty addresses that I didn't note down in my previous 8 runs.

Is there a better way to do this type of thing in java/html?
I'm displaying overlays on an image based on the current time in the hour, with 9 different images
is 9 separate if statements the neatest way to do it?
I was going to do switch|case but all the places I'm looking say to use if statements for a range instead of cases

if (4 <= currentMinute && currentMinute <= 19){
document.getElementById("inbod").innerHTML = '<div class="inner"><img src="image_files/04_19.png" style="position: absolute; z-index: 1; top: 10; left: 10;" ></div>';
}

if (10 <= currentMinute && currentMinute <= 25){
document.getElementById("inbod1").innerHTML = '<div class="inner1"><img src="image_files/10_25.png" style="position: absolute; z-index: 1; top: 10; left: 10;" ></div>';
}

if (14 <= currentMinute && currentMinute <= 29){
document.getElementById("inbod2").innerHTML = '<div class="inner2"><img src="image_files/14_29.png" style="position: absolute; z-index: 1; top: 10; left: 10;" ></div>';

Anyone know how to make a batch script in Windows wait for one command to finish before running the next ?

I'm trying to make a script that uses imagemagick's mogrify command to convert a bunch of images, and then delete the originals. I've verified that both of my commands work on their own, but when I put them in a .bat file the images are deleted before mogrify finishes.

mogrify -format jpg -quality 95% -path "W:\Dropbox\Public\overwatch" *.bmp
del /s /q /f *.bmp

I did google a bit, but found like 10 different answers and couldn't find one that works. Anyone ?

irfanview is really good for batch image conversion/resizing and stuff if you need it in future

switch to powershell

>>56190589
Thanks !
But it turned out that % needs an escape character when run in a .bat file, and that's why it didn't work. I solved the problem by doing this instead:

mogrify -format jpg -quality 95%% -path "W:\Dropbox\Public\overwatch" *.bmp
del /s /q /f *.bmp

>>56190674
>Nigga you dumb.
yeah sorry
not paying attention

also does anyone know what format I should be using in java/html for this to work?
I want the [i] to be looped
e.g. inner0, inner1, inner2

for(i = 0; i < 10; i++){
document.getElementById("inner"+i).innerHTML = ""

I'm just trying to clear all the elements
>>
>>56190701
And ?

While WSL may not be able to interact with the registry, it is certainly able to interact with Windows' file system. This gives me access to the same Linux/UNIX tools, that I'm used to on my servers/laptop, on my Windows 10 machine.

Powershell is a good tool that has its uses in registry tinkering and suchlike, but WSL can handle most general purpose operations just fine.

programs often return an "exit code", where "0" means no error, and anything else being some kind of error

yes, but those first bits need to tell the computer where to find the rest of grub

it's writing grub stage1, the bootsector isn't large enough to fit the entirety of grub, so the rest is stored in stage2

Sometimes I can hear a grinding sort of noise coming from the inside of my case. It's probably the hard drive. I got an imminent hard drive failure notice earlier in the year and so far it's still going. I've been tracking the information shown in crystal disk info the whole time (oldest being when I got the notice), are the changes in the C9 row something to be worried about?

I've been backing everything up daily so there's nothing to worry about there.

add(1,2) evaluates the function regardless of whether it's assigned to a variable or not. lambda: 1+2 defines a function, whether it's assigned to a variable or not.

So the first two lines, a == 3. In the final, a is a function where a() == 3

OK

So I am back again today with the same issue
I am currently on WIndows 10 and want to downgrade to 8.1
I have a USB and a Disk with 8.1 on it but can't boot from either of them
Some sources say I have to go to the UEFI Settings via advanced options in Windows 10, but there is no option to for them there as you can see in that picture

Other sources say I can go to BIOS and boot from CD or USB but there is no option for that either
When I enter BIOS I am completely missing options that are in the pic related
My don't have any options to boot from CD or USB I could only set the boot priority of Optical Drive, Hard Disk, and External Drive and changing those around seemed to do nothing

I can take pictures of my BIOS if anyone is actually willing to help

Windows 7 obviously has different drivers than Windows 10. You can't expect them to work interchangably. If you don't cannot get the drivers via simple Windows Update, then go to the website of the hardware vendor and manually download and install the drivers.

Onboard sound cards are horrendous. With mine everything coming out of the headphones would also get to the mic input. I don’t have thins anymore with a DAC.
>>
>>56197978
Shitty "computer speakers" have a shitty amp inside them. It's what connects to the pc/sound card. Passive speakers just have bare wires coming out of them, no plug or anything. An amp or receiver clamps onto those wires and powers the speakers.

The cheapest worthwhile standalone amps will be $20 - $30 and maybe not as good as the DTA-1. I have a Lepai, and it's too noisy to have on when not playing stuff. And the included power supply doesn't have a UL, or even fake CE marking, so it could cause housefires. Other /g/ users seem to like Lepai amps, so maybe I just got a lemon.

Some places to look for bookshelf speakers are Amazon, Parts-Express, and Monoprice.

Ok so I came from outside and checked on my PC - there was some strong heat coming from it - so instinctively I've checked the video card.

Temps were 50 degree + in stand by.

I've shut the pc down, opened it again and checked video card - done some stress test and it stays in 75 degree in stand by.

I've activated integrated one from processor - switched the cable, disabled the main video card from device manager.

So technically I run from a different one and the main card should be offline - not sure if it is tho.

The card is gtx 770 2gb It's still in warranty
but on
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-770/specifications

pace it says maximum gpu temperature is 92 degrees..

I know the state in which the card is now - it's not normal since 30 degrees or less was what I got in stand by and 70 while gaming or bench-marking.

Should I still send it into warranty just to try my luck and otherwise what should I do? Try to fix it myself ( dunno how yet but could learn ) or sell it for as much as other used cards sell for?

Looks like the black plates on the front are detachable, only one remains. Has a dvd drive that looks like it matches the case. Inside is barren besides that.

So can I like buy parts and put a computer in this? And how would I start? Why do computers need to be in "computer cases" anyway couldn't you just build them anywhere?
>>
>>56199897
Okay yeah just looked up the 6100. I probably don't even need a GPU desu. Or could just say fuck GPU all together and get an i5. guessing a 430 -500 PSU would be all needed and one good CPU fan. Not thinking of see through side so not a big deal if nocturn a looks ugly or not.

Are subtitles used in movie theaters in bold?

I'm using Tahoma now, I heard those sans serif or whatever they're called are good for subtitles
>>
>>56199752
Just use whatever settings HorribleSubs uses.
>>
>>56199404
You can increase it to use it 2GB RAM, you can decrease it to 128MB RAM if you want.
You change how much you want it to use in the BIOS.
>>
>>56199967
Exactly the same integrated graphics on i3 or i5
you just have more processor on i5... which you don't really need - and you would pay much more for the i5 model that consumes the least.. which is still much for a small unit.

whoops it was working like that, I just had my variable name wrong

gotcha. which is why I thought of i3 anyhow . seems to be the right choice plus I'm not rich etc.
>>
>>56200083
I assumed you were a little well-put with money while also giving suggestions of how to save as much and still be happy.

Remember in life unless you get ultra rich and can afford to be stupid don-t be ... with everything, it's more fun this way, since you're left with money in the pocket for even more things.

i have a 16gb kingston datatraveler flash drive which when plugged in on my win7 laptop gives the "cant format, the disk is write protected" error
today i tried it on my old windows 98se pc and i could actually read the contents just fine, but again without permission for writing
so my question is: is there a way to fix this? like set its permissions somehow so it works? i thought it was completely dead because often the dead ones give that error and wont format, but i managed to read it and im interested in trying to repair it somehow
any help will be appreciated

Don't flat out castrate me but I'm in the process of learning C and figured I would try one of the simple programming challenges that everyone does. Fizzbuzz. Well this is my code and it looks like it will spit out the correct Fizz Buzz and Fizzbuzz but it also adds the number after it where did I go wrong.
#include <stdio.h>

main()
{
for(int i = 0; i <= 100; ++i){
if(i % 3 == 0 && i % 5 == 0)
printf("FizzBuzz\n");
if(i % 3 == 0)
printf("Fizz\n");
if(i % 5 == 0)
printf("Buzz\n");
else
printf("%d\n", i);
}
}

use "else if"s for the second and third if statements

When using torrents, why do I not need to open a port on my router (port forwarding) so other people can download from me?
Shouldn't it be needed?
>>
>>56200427
Because the port you use for torrenting is usually open.
>>
>>56200384
when it prints FizzBuzz or Fizz, the loop doesn't exit.
instead, it goes through the rest of the if statements, so when you have i == 15, the loop prints FizzBuzz\nFizz\nBuzz\n, and when you have i == 3, it prints Fizz\n3\n, and so on for larger numbers.
>>
>>56200384
The way you wrote it, the else will only execute if the last if statement fails.
If you used else if, then the else would execute if all other failed.

Sorry if I'm not explaining it properly.
>>
>>56200480

how do you close the first if statement?

NAT & UPNP.
Asks to open the port and send all the shit to your computer.
Look into how the fuck everyone can seem to share ports 80 and 443 all the time for a more general understanding.
Networking is magic!

I want to be able to use my laptop heavily at university and was wondering if I could use my old 10000mah external battery with a type c cable to keep my laptop going? If I can't any ideas?
>>
>>56200507
With the right-brace character: }, or in your case, just a ;

You might be asking about else-conditionals though, which aren't really closing the if, so much as doing another if so long as the last if wasn't used.

How do I properly research a problem related to programming?

My IDE returns a bad syntax error, and I've copied the formatting from the internet page I'm learning from, so I have no idea what the problem is.

When I look up the error, they all talk about ideas and concepts I haven't come across yet. What's the best site a self-teaching beginner can learn from?

Also, what are some helpful tips for someone self-learning? Would making simple programs for fun be the best way of practice, or should I consistently challenge myself to make difficult material everytime?

Check the SHA-1 or SHA-256 of the iso you downloaded and whatever you used to crack it.

If its the same than the one in google based in your windows version you are safe.
Same for your activator.
