Get on my level. I slept in a dryer bag in a hole I dug covered in leaves back in some survival camp as a kid. I think you cant really hardbrick your device. Root is easy. I encountered no problems when i unlocked my phone. I had already applied for the unlock code before the phone even ship. Got my code in 1 day from Xiaomi anyway.
Then the phone came and it had global stable rom. Most guys said that you needed global dev or better China dev rom for the unlock to work. It was late at night and said fuck it lets try and the phone unlocked on first try. Then i flashed twrp and then xiaomi.eu

I had a hard time unlocking my redmi 3s though. It stuck at 50% for over 15 tries. That was painfuI. It turned out i had missed checking enable unlock or something in developer settings.

Tl dr. Its extremely hard to brick your device with no return.

Two parcels arrived today from gaybeast.

One mobile phone and one USB powered soldering iron.

The Soldering Iron is shite, it doesn't work. Any standard USB interface causes nothing to happen other than the led inside the soldering iron body to light. Powering it directly from my workbench powersupply results in the tip getting very slightly warmer than ambient. That's it, nothing else happens, never gets hot.

The phone however I am extremely pleased with so far, It is a "Janus One mini phone". Extremely basic, doesn't have many features but it feels very well made in my hand. Has a nice weight, satisfying high grip to the back of it too.
I live in a rural area which has awful signal problems being in a valley but so far my reception with this thing is perfect.

There's numerous complaints about them having atrocious sound quality but mine seems fine so I guess I got lucky. Here's hoping the battery lasts, if it does this will have been an ideal phone for me.

1) do not trust anything that converts power from mains. See china has far FAR lower quality standards than most western countries, Then add on top of it that they will be untraceable even if they could be held accountable.

2) as for power banks, put in a dummy device to whatever you get, then discharge and recharge it. if its not in flames or dies, its ok, these are FAR harder to fuck up because you are dealing with far lower outputs then mains, however you do run the risk of someone getting a good looking case and putting salvaged batteries into it. I would honestly tell you you are better off getting a power bank kit that way you put your own trusted batteries into it, though you likely aren't getting a deal that way.

3) the above two cover 'i want the cheapest shit and damn the slightly more expensive shit' as there are brands that you can reasonably trust from china, but those brands are susceptible to counterfeits as well, but harder to tell they are counterfeits because they were cheap to begin with.

The long story short, the only things with a transformer I would trust out of china are things i have to actively watch, such as a solder station. I will be by it at all times during operation and there will never be a point where i decide to go to the store and leave the shit plugged in and on.
