New 120mm silent wings in the mail as of one hour ago through

Might also look into a slim 120mm fan for the CPU cooler, but I would have to custom bend the wires that hold it down against the fins

>>
>>55962793
Because a lot of times the price difference between a 600 and 800W PSU of the same manufacturer and series is often negligible. So, why not just get the larger wattage and have plenty of headroom should it be needed?

In my case, the price difference between the ~600W, ~800W, and ~1000W was only about $10 per step. So, for $20, I can definitely run anything I throw in my system.

i don't get what's wrong with "milk" instead of the usual red coolant. at least i'm not riding the casual train.
also, what's wrong with the LED? can adjust the brightness from 10 different settings and even turn it off, and you can't even see the strip. 0/10 legit.

Are those the new corsair fans?
You should test if having that as a phsyx card actually ads any performance, unless it is because you have 5+ displays.
Really like the matching colors on this, the only nitpick that I have is that you are so close to 100% monochrome that i'd heatshirnk that last header on the bottom desu.

I think that the firestrike and timespy benchmarks are free they just dont allow you to alter any settings. Cinebench R2 is another one I have seen around but that is usually more about CPU and rendering.

with the current setup of a 280 rad as intake and 240 in the top for out. my CPU locks at 35c in game (depending on games) and it litterally doesn't generate heat. so my GPU never goes over 64c in games. saw it peak to 71 once in firestrike.

Yup, though I think the Acer is cheaper now compared to what they were at launch. It's not got the space of a triple monitor set up but the lack of bezels makes it a great monitor for gaming and photoshop/lightroom/maya work. Easier to run than 4K but still plenty of room.

The difference is that the past titans have been all full fat chips.

I think this is the first time since the original titan that it's been a cut chip. If a 1080ti is offered, it'll probably be the full chip and not a further cut down titan.

Try rearranging the RAM. Instead of it in the far right, put it in the far left. Ensure the 8-pin CPU power is all the way pushed in.

That motherboard has a diagnostic readout, does it display any sequence when you turn it on?

From what I've seen, water coolers add more noise from the pump rather than reducing it. I've had much better results with an entry level 120mm heatsink and a decently quiet fan. The only problem with those is some cases aren't deep enough and the side/top panel won't fit.

Like a retard I bought a meme cooler. It did not drop my temps. It did not reduce the overall noise level. 0/10 would not buy again, but too lazy to take off and sell.

I ended up banishing my desktop to a rack in my basement and accessing it remotely, both to cut down on noise and for the better cooling down there.
>>
>>55975157
exactly why i'd go memetastic external, put the pump(s)/res and the rad/fans outside of the case a good distance away and just have to deal with damping the last few mechanical drives i run, and put 800-1200rpm fans in the case, and let that fucker be noisy some where else, i could also do that with the whole computer put it farther away and run a slightly longer cable for video and get a usb 3.0 extension/hub but i'll have to try it to see if i can notice the latency

and i already knew the shitty AIO pumps are noisy as fuck,i was talking about running 2 d5 varios in series and decoupling them
>>
>>55974962
Because your $25 heatsink isn't going to support much overclocking.
Something like a Hyper 212 is fine for stock speeds and mild overclocking, but temperatures skyrocket once you start raising the voltages.

For the record a $100 AIO water cooler is useless. At this price level, air coolers perform much better. There are AIO water coolers that will outperform even the best air coolers (see: Noctua NH-D15), but these are generally both noisier, significantly more expensive (see: $200 for Fractal Design Kelvin S36, $320 for EK-XLC Predator 360), and too large for most cases to support them.
And then the difference in temperature between these top-of-the-line AIO's and their air counterparts is just a few degrees at most, but the difference between (I assume) your Hyper 212 and the aforementioned coolers is huge.

>>55975157
>water coolers add more noise from the pump rather than reducing it
This is correct. If you got an AIO thinking it would be quieter than a good air cooler, I feel sorry for you.
That said, you also managed to get a shitty ass entry-level AIO that has about as much of a place on the market as very low-end graphics cards. Good job, retard.

Is overclocking even a concern anymore? CPUs have gotten ridiculously powerful compared to their workloads, despite the best efforts of a million shitty developers to bloat things up.

My AIO cooler is so shitty it won 10 gold medals in the shit olympics. Load and idle temps are within 5C of a $25 air heatsink with a 92mm fan, on an identical machine with both at stock clocks with the same undervolt.

Also low-end graphics cards are great. IMO, the best value is with a card somewhere in the $100 to $150 range. I'm not much of a gamer and haven't touched anything but minecraft and yandere simulator recently. The last time I bought one was because my previous card was too old to output 2560x1440.

Of fucking course it is, people are always looking for more performance. CPUs haven't gotten ridiculously powerful, you just don't use yours.
When was the last time you encoded a video or did some CAD rendering ?

>Also low-end graphics cards are great. IMO, the best value is with a card somewhere in the $100 to $150 range.
No, I'm talking very low-end here. Bottom of the barrel shit like GT 710 that barely manages to outperform an integrated GPU.

Have an RM650x as well. Pretty satisfied with it, though the ATX power cable won't clip in - it simply doesn't go all the way in. Still, motherboard seems to be working fine (ASRock Z87 Pro4). Anybody here had any similar problems?
>>
>>55977591
>When was the last time you encoded a video or did some CAD rendering ?
Last week or so! I'm skeptical that the time saved by encoding slightly faster will ever make up for the time spent setting voltages and clock speeds and testing for stability. If it's just for fun, that's another thing entirely though.

There's plenty of good reasons to use a super low end GPU too. Not every CPU has an iGPU, and they're great for connecting additional displays past what the primary GPU supports. A second GPU from the same manufacturer will need to be new enough to use the current driver version, not a legacy driver, or the two will break each other. Also they're single slot and won't block more expansion slots like just reusing a previous card would.

Mid tier AiO will get you equal performance to the best air, top of the line AiO will perform better but they definitely don't cost as much as you are saying, the H115i for example is only $185 and it is one of the best.

>>55975285
>This is correct. If you got an AIO thinking it would be quieter than a good air cooler, I feel sorry for you.
Have either of you even used an AIO in the last 5 years?

Pumps are totally silent. Even pump noise of the past was from retards mounting the radiator incorrectly and introducing bubbles into the line.

Overclocked to 4.4GHz and boosting to 5.5GHz, it doesn't go above 50C at 30C ambient. I've been happy with it and I've had it for about 3-4 years now.

If there's not much price difference between a 120 and 240 might as well go either way. Just make sure it's not a thin radiator and that your fans have good static pressure.

it's supposed to be yellow UV, but everything in the loop is copper and i think there's some copper oxidation that's turning the yellow more greenish. might switch to pastel yellow next year when i have to flush the loop, and add white leds. now you can barely see that the backplate for the card is gold/yellow too

Ah, that's actually pretty funny. A white LED strip in addition to the UV strip would probably look pretty sweet.

I always told myself that if I ever did a custom loop I would use matte black tubes. That would look nice too if you ever need to rebuild the loop for whatever reason.

1) Is that an Evga 970-A U3DP?
2)I like your case fans.
3) Any special reason for the heatsink to be pointed that way? Wouldn't it exhaust air downwards onto your graphics card? Sure you got the backplate but I can't imagine that being the best thermal setup.
