Yes but this usually means it's a SDHC microsd slot so cards must be formatted in FAT32 to work. Good news is this means 128 and 256GB microsd cards will work so long as they are formatted in FAT32. And yes, you can format them in FAT32.

I'm getting a S6 Edge. I'm thinking of just getting a skin and maybe a leather case and skipping the screen protector entirely.

I've heard that argument cases just ruin the design of the phone and that skins are the better buy. And with screen protectors I hear that all of them are shit and break easily.

You should've jumped on the prime day deal yesterday m8.

It's probably the best budget phone available considering its battery life and build quality, though it's somewhat restrictive in bands of LTE and there's no gyroscope for the AR features of Pokemon Go if you give a shit about that

Bought a New Moto E second Gen about a week ago. Replaced my combo of a fourth gen iPod Nano, Blackberry Bold 9900, and First Gen Nexus 7. Over all it was a pretty decent upgrade. All I use it for are taking pictures, texting, calling, playing music, Waze, and some web browsing. However I've been wondering if the extra $60 or so for the Moto G would have been worth it in the long run. a flash and extra half inch of screen would have been nice since I'm usually taking pictures in low light, and it feels JUST a little small in my hands. Has anyone else gone from a Moto E to a Moto G? How was it?

Here's a picture I recently took with it.

Ok i made a thread but i guess i'll ask here too.
My oneplus one has just gone to heaven after i fell in a pool today and i have just 400 $ to buy the oneplus three.
Every fucking review i read of this phone is positive but is it really that good?
For what i read today on the interwebs, it seems like the display is not a "real" FullHD, moreover, being a superamoled, the colors are quite oversaturated and the whites are fucking blue. Should i just trust of the sRGB mode they implemented recently? Could this be solved via updates?
The battery is a 3000 mAh, and oneplus one had a 3100 one, and the LTE modem just supports CAT 6

Is it worth it?

>>
>>55563974
I'm also a Nexus 5 user and while the phone is great in most ways, the battery is just fucking ass, especially when you play a game or watch streams once in a while.

Is the Redmi 3 Pro a good choice right now or is other shit with a similar price-performance ratio around the corner?
>>
>>55565078
I'll be straight up with you, if I could go back to having the battery life of my redmi in my Nexus 5, I never would have changed phones.

Camera is alright, but better on the nexus thanks to ois. Multitasking is much nicer on the redmi, overall performance I haven't noticed a difference, but the nexus 5 does have the faster SoC.

Battery life is 11-13 hours per charge and that's with moderate brightness.

Overall, I love how easy the fingerprint scanner makes things, the extra ram is really nice, the screen is bright and looks great, the battery life is insane.

But it takes ~2.5 hours to charge up from a flat battery, camera is worse.

If battery life with smooth performance is what you want, then go for it, but if you want a good camera you'll be pretty disappointed.

Last one, don't want to spam this thread too much.

As I'm sure you've noticed, redmi 3 benefits a lot from HDR, which is why I usually leave it on.

Currently using my HTC One M7

Should I bite the bullet and get the Nexus 6P?
>>
Which should I get, the Redmi 3 Pro or the Redmi 3s? What's the difference between the SoC (617 vs 430)? Which one has better ROM support (I want CM, not the chink bloat+botnet ROM)?

Additionally, any alternative in this category? Maybe with a 1080p screen?

90MB/s write is really really fucking fast nigga. I'm planning to get one when it reaches at least $160 in a few months though. I suggest you wait for the price to drop as well, early adopters always get jewed the most.
>>
So I want to switch from HTC M7 since the battery is finally dying on me and I don't want to bother replacing it. I narrowed my choices down to Moto X Pure Edition 32GB and OnePlus 3.

Which one is better? Battery life is important for me but that 6GB of RAM seems nice for futureproofing. Most of the review outlets gave OP3 amazing scores but actual people who bought it listed a lot of issues. Is OP3 really that bad?

I'll be in the U.S. using cricket, I want root access too. I'm sure root will come out eventually but I wanna know, for the price, is this good or are there better options? I don't really want a chinkphone either I'll usually only get hspa signal and I want 4G

Honestly I think more than 4 gigs of ram on a phone is simply unnecessary. As far as the op3 vs moto x goes, I'd say they're pretty much equal, just depends on the processor you want and if you want removable storage. I'd go with the Moto solely because of removable storage.

>>
>>55566044

Storage is not really an issue for me since I came from M7 32GB with no extendable storage and I never have a single problem with it.

As for the RAM, that's why I said futureproofing. I also heard that the RAM on OP3 is not fully utilized or something, but they can fix it with a firmware update, r-right?

Battery degradation is still a thing, and will be a thing until a battery technology better than Li-Ion and Li-Po is developed. Also, even on phones that have "non removable batteries", you can still buy replacements for decent prices and solder them in yourself. It just takes a few more minutes, and you shouldn't have to do it very often.

your other thread is still up. so i'll just copy what i posted there.

the biggest complaint for this phone is the quality of the screen, which personally, i did not have an issue with.

my issue was my oneplus 3 started failing within 24 hours of me receiving it. camera and flashlight modules weren't detected, and drawing a v on the screen to enable the flashlight led to the phone freezing and rebooting not knowing what to do. the flashlight option wasn't even present in the OS. did a factory reset, and didn't help. didn't install twrp, didn't root it, didn't do shit. it just died. sent it back for the refund.

wait for later batches unless you really need to spend that 400.
>>
>>55566218
That's what oneplus said about the ram, but I meant even for the future I don't think smartphones will need more than 4 gigs of ram for at least the next 10 years, but since expandable storage isn't an issue I would definitely go with the op3 due to it simply being more powerful
>>

Juan here, is the Lumia 950 XL a good phone or should i wait until the HTC 10 or the S7E drop in price? It has everything i want, the only problem is that it runs W10 instead of Android and i am afraid it may be utter shit and lack good apps just like iOS, i really need a new phone, the one i have right now (Xperia M running unnoficial CM13) is broken beyond repair, its a wonder it still works and fixing it would cost me half the price of the Lumia. chinkshit isnt an option because of the coverage and every $150-200 phone you guys recommend is about $300+ here, the only cheap smartphones sold are the low end ones and the Lumia seems relatively high end.

>QHD AMOLED screen
>3 GB ram/32 GB internal
>dedicated microSD slot up to 256 GB
>20 mp camera
>5.7" phone so i can pretend im not a poorfag
>stock, spics arent smart enough to bloat W10 mobile yet
>SIM unlocked

All that for a ridiculous 7200 pesos, for comparison the S7E costs at least 19,000 pesos depending on the carrier, and the HTC 10 costs 14,000 pesos but so far only Telcel has it (shit signal, no unlimited data, gives your number to telemarketers), and just to show you how overpriced everything in mexico is, the iPhone 6s Plus costs 25,000 pesos because every rich faggot here doesnt mind paying up the ass for everything.

Oh okay Pablo.
My experience with Windows 10 on a phone was only a couple day but it was a fucking hell of a ride to be honest famiglia. No good apps, even for mainstream services such as Youtube. The UI looks new and different at first but it gets old really fucking quick. Don't do it, it's terrible.
HTC 10 is the phone I would have gotten if I didn't already have an N6P. Looks really good all around, almost stock Android, nice design, okay camera and battery.
Samshit has slightly better specs on paper but I just can't fucking stand Touchjizz, so I guess it's up to you between those.

I'm looking to buy a new phone to upgrade from my current Xperia L, because i really want to play pokemon go and on the xperia l it's fucking unplayable, lags and freezes like shit.

I considered lg g flex 2 but it has zero xda support so that sucks, since i will definitely want a cyanogenmod for that shit

My current choice is LG G3, which looks solid lookwise and parameter wise.. but they say it's fragile as fuck and on top of that it has serius battery problems.. like it basically drains dry in one day of you barealy even using it... so i am not sure if its worth the trouble

i'm from czech republic

Any ideas? Definitely has to have good xda support.
>>
>>55568375
>N6P
-Good spec
-pure Android and fast updates
-awesome camera, especially in low light
-acceptable, although not great battery life
-nice design (subjective)
-kind of expensive and no mSD

>Z5
-mSD
-waterproof-ish
-awesome design
-flagship specs
-inexpensive considering the specs
-dedicated camera button
-great fingerprint reader placement
-Z3 battery life was pure magic, dunno if it's still true with Z5
-typical Sony issues : great camera crippled by abysmal software. The camera app is fucking slow and bloated, the images produced are destroyed by sub Pajeet-tier processing, and despite promising Camera2 API support since the Z3 days, there's still no fix in sight. In fact they made it even worse on the new X series.

>OP3
-Chinkshit
-shit

>Samsung
-probably best specs on the market
-superfast camera with good performance (still not quite as good as N6P, particularly in low light)
-great battery life afaik
-expensive
-TOUCHJIZZ

Thank you, so if i save up a little more for an S7E and install nova launcher and goodlock on it would that be a good choice? I really want an HTC 10 because HTC is a low profile/no name company here, one of the main reasons i dont want a "flagship" phone is because i might get mugged and then shot for it, but i dont want a shitty phone either and those three were my only real choices, Motorola loves to bloat its smartphones here and their prices are similar to Samsung, i know that the newest Xperia will be prone to shit the bed even in pristine condition just like any other good sony product so thats another company i wont consider.

not sure if this is the place to ask, but I've been given an old iPhone 4S and I'm looking to jailbreak it. The device is on 8.1.3, and I have TaiG handy for that, but before I jailbreak it, I want to wipe the previous user's data off of the phone. It is my understanding that restoring the phone will update it as well. Is there a good way to erase the phone data which won't update the phone in the process?

Not phones but fashion accessories like the one you have.

Please explain me the micro sd meme, I've never filled my 32GB phones, why would I need a card slot in a 64GB phone?
>>
What's the deal with US cell plans, why are they so expensive? I could get a 2gb plan for $35/mo, or I could keep my UK provider, which despite being a UK provider gives me 12gb in the US for about $26/mo. This is ridiculous.
>>
>>55574356
Better safe than sorry. In addition 128GB microsd cards are going to hit $20/piece soon and the 256GB one is already below $200.

64GB may seem like a lot right now but what about when your music/video library starts growing? Or when you want to use your phone as a flash drive?
>>
>>55574397
But I've literally never needed that much, doubt I suddenly get an urge to farm that much stuff on my phone.
>>
>>55574103
So can you give sound advice on this matter or not?
>>
>>55574356
I like to back up my shit in case there's an issue with my phone. Also helps if I need to download stuff like torrents. I wouldn't mind slot-less phones if they didn't make the difference between 32GB and 64GB the price of a 256gb SSD.
>>
>>55574421
You really want to take that chance? OK compadre but don't feel salty when 90MB/s write speed 512GB micro sd cards go for less than $100 in a few years.

I just did, /fa/ and /lgbt/ specialize in fashion accessories like the one you have. Go ask them, they will be able to help you, I promise.

Lmao, I just said I'm positive I will never need that much space on my phone. Sure, I understand why some people do need it, not saying that.

Because companies here are interested in people getting family plans.

Boost Mobile for example will only charge you $95/month or $19/person in a family plan which covers 5 users with 2GB of high speed data then unlimited data at 2G speeds. This goes up to $220/month or $44/person in a family plan which covers 5 users with unlimited high speed data and 8GB of free hotspot data.

It's a carrier locked phone, only works with Boost which uses Sprint networks. Not really a bad thing depending where you live. Boost subsidizes the hell out of phones like this to hurt metro piss's feelings.

Bullshit. No company offers truly unlimited data and they all throttle.

I have boost and can confirm they don't throttle like ever. A lot of anons have posted using over 200GB of data a month with Boost. I have to work most of the time so I don't get a chance to download the latest moeblob cartoons.

But apparently the Amazon one can be rooted.

Is it just google shilling their own expensive cables, or i shouldnt buy a chink cable? (I need to import 1)

Anyone advise me on what the cheapest option for me here is?

I have a Sony Xperia Z2, which is a great phone but also a fragile piece of shit. I've had it for 18 months and the screen has cracked and needed repair 6 times. On 3 of those occasions I dropped it so fair enough, but 3 other times it happened more or less by itself - last time it was just in my pocket, took it out, and it was cracked - even though I keep it in a protective case. I don't have insurance (yes I know that was dumb, in retrospect) so I've had to pay to fix it each time. After lots of complaining I got my carrier (EE) to offer me a free early upgrade - but all their options for similar spec phones are 2-3 times the price of what I currently pay (which isn't really an option, I'm looking to go £25p/m max).

So basically what I'm asking is there any way that I can get a similar phone to the Z2 for a similar price as what I pay currently (£19.99p/m) ? The phone is great, I just want something that won't break every couple of months. I'd actually prefer to have pay-as-you-go, so anyone know any affordable handsets (e.g. ~£150) with similar spec? Failing that, any way I can get the phone repaired for free or for low cost, seeing as it wasn't my fault it cracked? Sorry for the essay, I'm just poor and this fucking phone is making me even poorer.
>>
>>55576089
Forgot to say, I'd like it to be Android compatible if possible - there's lots of apps that I like to use which are only found in AppStore or Play Store, and I don't want to get an Apple phone.

>wall of text

>>55576089
The Z2 doesn't even have gorilla glass, just a generic chink "scratch resistant" glass. It's a design flaw.
Have a look on uswitch to find good deals. Though there really aren't any good phones for £150, you might find a decent upgrade deal.

>tfw i have tmobile and i currently pay $3/week for 60MB/week of data

>>
>>55576089

I am not sure where the z2 is placed, but i had a Xperia SP, and damn, that shit was great. An excelent phone, great battery too a LOT of punishment without any major damage, besides some chipped plastic on the corners.
>>
>>55576162
It's a nightmare, it would only need that very slight design change to make it a really great phone. I saw it survive drop tests on YouTube, but I have no idea how. I dropped it from only about 1.5 feet onto my bathroom floor and the whole thing cracked, even though it was in a protective plastic case. The whole touchscreen stops working even with a small crack too.
