I just noticed another thing about the Creelight I got in the last thread. There are two little dark marks on the edge of the hotspot, at 12:00 and 9:00. The 12:00 one you can't see due to potato camera (Sony MVC-FD75) but the 9:00 obstruction is there. Also you can faintly make out the thing I was talking about in the last thread, in the lower-left portion of the center of the hotspot.

Pretty typical $0.99 flashlight quality desu.

AGC is like turning up the volume on your TV when a TV is quiet until you can hear something. The source is still quiet and you're just getting a crackly overblown representation of the sound. That's not phantom power, that's turning the volume up on something quiet.

Try and find proof of your test and see it was taken down because it was misinformed.

You had me fooled until I looked into the Somake and saw not only does it engage AGC, it has a second internal AGC. So the Somake is boosting the gain TWICE. The mic is still underpowered and that's why all sound captured from it is flat and lacks details. It's boosting a quiet mic up to insane levels. That's why if you push the gain up it turns into a distorted mess and you know that.

Think about what you're claiming for a second, that a tiny usb sound card can power a condenser mic that relies on conduction. You're insane.

My main problem is that to test the Somake I compared like for like, 70% gain on 48v phantom power and 70% gain Somake. When I noticed the double gain boost trick by the Somake it invalidated all those tests because I have no idea what volume the Somake is putting out. 140%? 250%? How is that a fair comparison?

I've been following it closely. The 3s has better benchmarks due to the better processor (slightly). It also is based on android 6.0 and has faster emmc (32gb version) and higher cat LTE modem. Probably worth paying a bit extra for but do keep in mind the 3s is REALLY marked up at the moment due to it being so new.
