2xAAA Cree LED flashlight. Here's a complete disassembly.

There was a weird white residue on the front cone piece when I got it so I probably have cancer now. It puts out a very cool, purple-ish hotspot and is basically all flood (as is every light this cheap, because proper reflectors cost money), with a very light, minor spill. The clip feels cheap but it works so far. Like all cheap Chinese lights it's momentary off, meaning you can click it on and then depress the switch (but not click it) to temporarily turn the light off.

It's daytime so I can't really show off good pics of it in action. It has a WAY cleaner beam than the last 99 cent light I bought.

Bought some knockoff Ray Ban Wayfarers. Unfortunately the listing got taken down like 7 hours ago or something, but the seller sells them on a new website now.
They're not quite 1:1 with real Ray Bans. You'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference, but there is a difference. For one, the inside letters have these weird jpg looking artifiacts hanging around some of the letters. One of they Ray Ban logos on the arms has an extra bit of black plastic on it as well. Other than that, the glasses are 1:1. Would recommend for $20, which is what I paid.

After spending a bit of time with this knock-off Wiimote and beating a few games, I can say that this is pretty shit. The nunchuck is awful. The joystick is one of the worst things I've used. The actual Wiimote is okay. All of the buttons feel like the real thing.
Wii MotionPlus works well too. I played through Skyward Sword with this thing.
It was an okay $8 spent.

For $1.81 US, this charger is unbelievably high quality. Designed by LiteOn for Microsoft Japan. I ripped it apart and examined it closely; it's not a fake. There are only good engineering decisions and only modern parts. I'm seriously not sure how these got into my hands for this price. Maybe they made too many of them and pawned them off to wholesalers? Maybe Microsoft made them for some new device, then canceled the device and had these leftover? I seriously don't know. Elsewhere they sell them for $7-10, and they're honestly worth that price. Brand name, UL listed, 94V-0, and reliable performance for pretty close to cost-of-components.

I bought it here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/microsoft_1621/32640462356.html but that seller always correctly marks his packages with value of contents. Other sellers have identical listings.

But I actually care if the things I plug into outlets are safe. I'm sure many in this thread don't care, so $1.81 will seem too expensive. It's also 1 port, not 2+. It's also 1.2A, not 2.1A+. It doesn't use the apple charging standard, so apple devices might refuse to charge faster than 500mA. But I think it's great value. I bought 1, tore it apart, then bought 5 more.

The case is 2.3mm thick polycarbonate, very substantial, feels solid, and will survive abuse. Case structure is very compactly designed, I can't imagine it being smaller. The outlet blades are well mounted - the case was molded around them with extra plastic to reinforce the area. The bridge rectifier is a modern smd chip, not 4x rectifier diodes like cheap units. The safety capacitor has a Mohm resistor, which is always scrapped in cheap units. The mains filter cap is split into two: one small connected directly to the rectifier, one large that's connected through a fuse. This is smart engineering - if the circuit fails dramatically, the large capacitor will be cut off and the output will cut to 0, but the small capacitor will remain connected which keeps the circuit behaving predictably after failure. The capacitors near the output are solid state polymer caps, so if they fail, they won't blow gunk out the usb port. The isolation slot it's just a slot, they filled it with two walls of plastic. Bad isolation is the most common safety issue on cheap units, but this design is as safe as it gets. And it uses a schottky diode for output rectifying. Each of these design tidbits costs extra money, and cheap units would certainly be scrapped for cheaper parts in a fake or clone. This thing is legit.

I wouldn't compare new thinkpads to macbooks price wise, simply because they are not that far off. Brand new thinkpads cost more than macbooks (quite a lot, too) and, contrary to popular belief here, macbooks are sturdy quite machines. No biggie I just used the guide myself last week. Couple of things were different for me though (I used 64bit Win10 on Virtualbox).
The device names in device manager (Android Composite ADB interface) were completely different, I think mine only said android (with a yellow triangle). But in the end that didn't affect anything, it was just a bit unnerving.
Also when I installed MiFlash it also installed the correct drivers. So when in the guide it said to browse for driver software to install, for me it did nothing as the correct drivers were already installed.
