I know of a user who got banned from PTP for having a trader in their invite tree. When this user pointed out that they received the invite from the PU forum on WCD and provided evidence of this it was ignored and they were labelled a trader and got a global ban. This all happened in the days when invites to cabal trackers were freely distributed on many PU forums across the private trackersphere. Everyone's favorite cuck had a deciding hand in this case. When it was pointed out that, on top of the evidence provided, it made absolutely no sense for someone in that situation to invite trade for an advantage anyway, the ignorance continued.

I used to think people were just crying and bullshitting when they said stuff like this but after I saw this case my position changed massively and I'm now of the opinion that cabal trackers have a policy of whimsically banning people merely to free up resources.

BTN hasn't been the best for all of those 7 years and has only been the standout in the category for maybe about half of that time.

BTN profited massively from the death and fall from grace of a few other TV trackers over the last few years which has enabled them to position themselves as the top dog with very little competition to spur them on. MTV appears to be making waves now however and it'll be interesting to see how things change in the next year or two.

Anon2 here. I'm on both anon and desu AHD is my goto since the 75% FL makes it almost ratioless. I only use PTP when I can't find something on AHD or it has a superior encode from HDB, which happens but is under 20% of the time.

It's pretty good, has most things you would ever care about, it's got the strength in quality, it only really needs the depth to match BTN now. If I were just getting into MTV now I'd still quietly work towards BTN (You can be there in 6-12 months depending on what trackers you're currently in and if you do a little bit of work towards upper user classes) but you're not missing much.

It's not abusable. It does everything they want out of the yen system. It encourages you to seed irrelevant things for long periods of time.

The only problem with it is that if say, a newer user (using that Neferpitou person as an example) wanted to get to the top of the uploader charts, older users are more or less solidified in their position making 100gb+ of upload worth of yen per day, exponentially outscaling the newer user without actually having to upload a single byte. It's probably a shit example, but that's really the only problem with the system.

You can't ignore the impact of the influx of migrants. If there were still other quality TV trackers there'd be less quality users doing their work at BTN and less basis for BTN to assert such authority over the TV niche.

I'm not saying MTV is perfect, only time will tell what happens, we just have to wait and see.
