So I have a GTX 1070 I just got today (My first pascal GPU) and I noticed that it has a GPU boost of around 2000 on the core clock but sometimes it'll downclock itself to around 1978 or sometimes even 1888. Why is that when the GPU temp is around 65? Is this some kind of feature I don't know about where it won't boost to max if It feels it doesn't need to?
It's a Strix OC by the way if that helps, I just don't understand this.
>>59173310
same happens with AMD cards, to keep them cooler and power efficient they will throttle down a bit when the full power isnt needed, try playing a GPU intensive game and check if it uses the full capacity
>>59173359
It even happens in Heaven Benchmark as well on extreme at Ultrawide 1080p (2560x1080) is that also normal?
>>59173310
it's a boost feature you faggot, it doesn't run at 2k all the time
Suggest a project I can do in Python or Ruby. Bonus points if it isn't web software, as I don't want to host it.

Create a file navigator using a GUI framework such as GTK+ or Qt.
I'm actually fine with my graphical one. Hm, on the other side I guess I could experiment with TUIs to have an improvement over cd.

I need to make about $1,000 extra in 2 months. Which programming language/technology will get me there fastest?
BJ+
It's a hands-on scripting language that goes way back. Old but gold.
>>59173087
>BJ+
yes BJ4$.
it's actually the oldest programming language in existence and the clients are usually easy.
>>59174976
BJ+ is actually really simple, since every function has the same return value

Anyone else with this issue?
It refuses to stay on.
Common Sense 2018 PreAlpha doesn't have this problem.

Still using common Sense 2009 and no virus.
Feels good
My landlord finally upgraded his internet because his kid just got old enough for online gaming. However, I don't really see a difference because I live 2 floors below them and their router is on the 3rd floor.
I can convince him to set up power line adapters but not really sure how they work across multiple family homes. Like his floor is always losing poor because his kid uses the microwave when his mum is vacuuming all the time but it doesn't affect my power.
Will it work /g/? Do questions relating to electricity count as tech questions?

just run a Ethernet cable out the window

Which one to get? I'm looking at the 55" sizes. The new LG 55B7 will probably be 2000€, right?
How about the Sony A1? Will it be in 55" and for how much?
No?

I don't think they're getting the general idea.

LG got the idea with their sub 4mm wallpaper oled.

I want a new monitor, ideally 1440p, but I don't want to spend lots of money. Are the Korean ones on eBay any good?
Define "lots of money". Why not get a Dell for ~300 bucks and enjoy top quality, and warranty?
>>59171211
Depends on how many dead pixels you might get, but if you're lucky enough then they might be a good bang for buck purchase.

Why don't people like JS? Using like 3 different transpilers and some external libraries it's basically Lisp.
>>59170815
when I use scala.js I'm not writing js, I'm writing scala that transpiles to js. If you're transpiling to js then you're not writing js, it's not hard dude..
>>59170815
>Using like 3 different transpilers and some external libraries
That's pretty much the reason.
As a programmer I don't like it for reasons like pic related
as a user I don't like it because for most websites the content I'm there for is static (text or images) and the only things JS is used for are pointless (comments sections, fancy animations) or actively malicious (advertising and tracking)
