I'm setting up a fresh computer - Windows 7 - and need some recommendations for a good, free antivirus/firewall.
I'd been using avast antivirus and comodo firewall until recently. After installing them again, they seem more like bloatware than what I remember.
Do you have any alternative suggestions?
Common Sense

Microsoft's EMET tool, TinyWall to whitelist only the apps you use and common sense.
How about instead of installing a antivirus, you go to a gay bar and get your ass railed like the faggot you are
How can I leverage my skills to make money without having to work a shill 9-5 job where I contemplate suicide every night /g/?
Write a killer app
Wait until some VC notices you
Cash in on it
Invest the money
Live off the interest
Or you could try freelancing.
>>59038832
if you ask to ask you should kill yourself
people who just KNOW are the ones who can break out of it
sorry pal ... you simply dont have what it takes to ever succeed in life
good bye lol
PS: don't even try to watch motivational videos, learn about entrepreneur ship or try to find a mentor who can tell you how to break out of it ... you are failure and you will always be ... no matter how much effort you put into this you won't succeed anyway
order ropes from amazon already lmao
Any /g/ use a playstation 1 as a music player? Most of the music CDs I use work fine, but some (brand new) just can't be playing. As soon as I put the CD in, it start skipping for 5-10 secs and then stop and won't start... Any idea of the problem??
THANKS

/g/ - tech support for audiophile retards

It's probably some shitty DRM on the disc. btw, >2017 >paying for music

I love how this meme got so out of control it actually stuck like the proverbial shit to a wall.
It's like watching applefags attempt to recharge their phone in the microwave because on that info-graphic. only this one is far more pathetic
I have a motherboard with what i think is corrosion in it, it's green and it's not battery acid, it was completely dead. I gave it an isopropyl alcohol bath and it started working again perfectly but only for about three hours, now it powers up but doesn't boot. Is there any point in giving it another bath?
No.
Will not turn on or charge, nothing happens when plugged into a charger.
I got this tablet for free from work but it seems to be totally fucked. I've googled the usual fixes (holding power button for 30 seconds and other shit) but nothing so far has worked. I've had it on charge for 3 hours straight now.
Is there any last ditch method I can try to fix it or should I just throw it in the trash?
>>59037376
We're not your personal tech support, faggot.
Maybe you should've looked ahead and not have bought such a trash device to begin with.
>>59037408
Wow rude.
>Maybe you should've looked ahead and not have bought such a trash device to begin with.
I didn't buy it, I got it for free from work, I'm just trying to salvage a piece of tech, it's in mint condition other than the whole won't turn on thing.
I recently purchased an engineering sample for Intel XEON e5-2696 from the below link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/152436640192?_trksid=p2060353.m...
I run a lot of Virtual Machines so for the price it was advantageous to upgrade from my 4930k, which is a 6 core, to this 12 core XEON. I do, however, like to play games every now and then so not crazy about losing the clock speed since I know games will not see the extra cores, so thinking of overclocking a bit.
I currently have a custom water-cooling system cooling my CPU, VRMs, and chipset with temps never going higher than 35C on the CPU and case temps stay cooler, even at full system load.
I'm confident I won't have any thermal issues as far as the motherboard and CPU goes, but since the CPU has a locked multiplier I'm stuck with base clock overclocking. I know my RAM is rated for higher clock speeds then it is currently running but I also know that sometimes this can effect the video card as well. What advise can one give the process, would I need to water-cool my GPU as well?
Hardware listed below:
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition (Intel x79 chipset)
RAM: 48GB GSKILL Ares 2133 MHZ (4x8GB and 4X4GB)
CPU: Currently Intel Core i7 4930k (being upgraded to XEON E5-2696)
Graphics Adapter: Saphire Vapor X Radeon 7970 GHz 6GB
SSD Sata: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
SSD M.2.: Samsung 960 EVO 250GB (Running via PCI-E 4x adapter) "Motherboard would not boot off this drive so left OS on the above SSD and used this for applications and page file.
HDD: 3X Western Digital Caviar Green 5TB drives
Optical Drive: 20X ASUS DVD Burner
Case: Rosewill Blackhawk Super Tower
Power Supply: Corsair RM1000X 1000 watt
Liquid Cooler: Custom - Water blocks are by by EK and Radiator is a dual 120mm by Alphacool, and pump is by Thermaltake, not sure of model #'s.
Operating System: Windows 10 Professional

Just kill yourself it would be more simple

Asking legitimate question, get retarded answer from faggot thinking he's funny.
>>59037385
if you wanted a real answer you should have made a real post and not bait-tier garbage like this
You're entire PC is overkill except your outdated GPU
That CPU upgrade won't do anything for games and OCing that GPU won't do shit
Just waste more money on getting a new graphics card if you want to play "muh gaymes"
Also a question for /g/: what to do with excess download speeds?
20 Mbps
If I had any to spare, I'd be pulling down max quality YouTube vids all the time. I know lots of people who go for long periods without adequate connections (if any at all) to stream even 144p. There are lots of ways to get at music/TV/movies but there's lots on YouTube which people like to keep up with that isn't really available elsewhere.
>>59036630
I have about 10Mbps. Had no problem downloading 2TB of Japanese Cartoons, so it's fine.
>>59036630
120/10
do you have any?

speaking of expensive legacy. What was the big deal about Matrox G200?
Only have a V5 5500. I do have some interesting sound cards however.
Need to build a 386 to find out of it still works.
Hey /g/ I'm looking for a free VPN anything helps. Thanks.

Why not just send your porn collcetion to NSA directly?
>>59036179

well, he is right tho. Pay or be the product.
Can anyone help with the issue in the attached? No videos play either and the comments don't load on any ign site, I tried chrome and its the same on that as well, I've updated java, flash player, disabled adblock, tried private mode, cleared the cache etc but nothing works. I've the exact same extensions enabled on my surface tablet and it works fine on that. any ideas?? not sure what the torn paper icons mean?
and again
Is RSS a good way to get news? If so what are the best RSS feed programs out there?

You have already demonstrated that you are profoundly retarded so there's nothing more to do here.
Is this /bestphone/?
>>59035305
no, it is /irrelevant/, just like you.
Is that even a phone?
Basically one of my friends opened up a tab on my ipod touch, went on to a pornsite and then pressed the home button, so the next time I opened up safari it would be porn. Hilarious, but I opened it at work on the work network. I didn't navigate to any other site and the page seemed to be already loaded, so will it show up on the work network history? I'm thinking no as loaded sites don't really use bandwidth but I really don't know enough to decide whether this is really bad or not.
It might have run some script.
You're also not fucked in the slightest. No one is even going to notice, much less care about, a single request to a shady porn IP.
is probably loaded in the cache so i wont worry
>installing vlc media player
>not using vlc media player for a year
>using vlc media player again for 10 minutes
>getting youtube video recommendations about vlc media player the other day
how exactly is this supposed to happen?
coincidence? i don't think so.
i didn't even attempt to stream through vlc. all i did was playing a video from my external hard drive.
also tell about your stories.
>install vlc
>video stutters like shit
>audio doesn't work
>uninstall and never use again
so this is the power of free software
