From 106 to 95 in 3 months.

Weight has been shifting constantly from 95 to 97 this week, I think I hit a plateau. Fuck, I don't think I will be able to bullshit my calorie intake with Diet Coke anymore

My period keeps fucking up my progress. I'm craving crappy food and I'm effectively bedridden with cramps. Ibuprofen has done jack shit this time.
Should I admit defeat and eat something high in sugar?

Measure your waist (and your hips/bust if you're a grill). Sometimes you lose inches instead of pounds
>>
>autumn hoodies
wear nice clothes. that is my advice. I used to wear basketball shorts and hoodies. I spent money on nice shoes, start wearing jeans and chinos that fit, OCBDs + other button ups, starting paying attention to how things fit, and how an outfit comes together, color schemes, etc... I combed my hair, trimmed my beard, and started showering daily. Even now as a > 300 lb man, I get women that flirt with me.

You're fat no matter what you wear. People are always going to notice that. Might as well look like you give a fuck.

Skipped the gym today, but I walked for about half the day and climbed a small mountain so I don't feel bad.

But the coolest part was that I swear at the beginning of my adventure my shorts were loose, but by the end they kept sliding down my waist.

Guess I gotta go shopping.

The good news is that the answer is probably take a week to eat a little more.

It's been working for a while, I think I've actually got things figured out.
>nutrient/vitamin bar for lunch and breakfast (200 calories)
>two eggs in between lunch and supper (140 calories)
>600-700 calorie supper, usually make something different every night
>lots of water throughout the day
Breakfast probably should be bigger, but if it works it works I guess.
>>
>>42719018
Eat something comfort-y/crappy, but don't go overboard. As long as it fits into your calorie goals. So if you'd eat a massive king-size bar of chocolate in one sitting, just get one of those snack-sized/normal sized bars for around 200 calories instead. I find that helps.
>>
>>42718904
Ive always had abs tho kek never been fat
>>
>>42719609
Also where I live we have a brand of hot chocolate that only has 35-40 calories per 11g, it REALLY helps me manage cravings. I usually have a cup every night and look forward to it.
>>
>>42719364
>>42719609
Thanks anons, I've managed to quell the cramps with a 200 calorie chocolate bar and a cup of tea. When I'm feeling better I'll get a better quality one to save for next time, hopefully the worst of it is over.
>>
>>42719095
Add up how much you went over tdee those days, divide by how much you go under when you're sticking to your diet. Oh and maybe add 3 days because that just counts the time to catch up after the binge, not the days you lost bingeing.
>>
>>42719549
That is what I'm talking about. I've been fat for a year now and binging is fun.

200lbs and 6ft 1. So not morbidly obese but still much too fat
>>
>>42719754

Mate, that's pretty much in or damn near healthy range, at most only just into 'overweight'. I know this because I'm down to 217 from 240 and just passed into 'overweight' from 'obese'. Feels good man. You're at my first major goalpost.

I'm aiming to stop around 189, as I'll look pretty skinny at that point and be dead-middle of our healthy weight. So just 28 lb to go. It feels weird since I've already lost 23 lb. Just over half way to go.

Am... am I going to make it?
>>
>>42718904
Recently started keto diet combined with intermittent fasting and lost about 20 pounds in the past week and a half, 50 since I started exercising two months ago. I've been jogging and lifting two-three times a week each.

I feel like my heart is beating faster is this normal? Like when I get up to do something or go up stairs my heart will be beating faster than it usually does. Its not really uncomfortable or unbearable but does anyone know what could be causing it?
>>
>>42719687

High-fat diets cause cardiovascular disease, inflammation and endothelial dysfunction; intermittent fasting exacerbates the deleterious effects of high-fat diets.
You may simply be killing off your heart.

It's never a good idea to base your behavior and understanding of the world on a certain set of data simply because it is new and contrarian, or fits your preferred biases, with no regard for its quality or existing scientific context. A more reasonable approach involves synthesizing the totality of the evidence, which, unless you are quite knowledgeable in the subject, you are not equipped to do - such that expert opinion should be consulted.

When a low-quality study contradicts established scientific consensus, this is often because the study is highly flawed and/or biased, rather than revolutionary. The PURE study is a good example of this, with biased researching performing low-quality research and selectively highlighting certain findings for the media while ignoring others (in their data set, high intake of saturated fat and total fat was associated with increased risk of heart attack)
>>
>>42720188
A high-fat diet (even a single high-fat meal) causes cardiovascular dysfunction and decreased cardiac efficiency rather immediately. Cardiac events tend to occur towards nighttime, when concentrations of lipids in the blood are highest, and cluster around holiday seasons and events when intake of fat is highest. While the atherosclerosis and organ damage promoted by high fat diet take decades to develop, acute cardiac symptoms and pathology can still occur in the short-term, especially when risk factors are present (overweight, fatty streaks, diabetes etc.)
>>
>>42719687
depends how fat you are. I was fine at around 200lbs or so and hen I got to be 250+ eating whatever the fuck I wanted (bags of candy and OJ etc)

I ran into issues, the biggest one I broke my back (27) just bending over. But also a few other things as I got older and fatter. Getting on my knees if I dropped something became an ordeal, my bed, sleeping in general became uncomfortable, climbing large public stairs really started to suck. Getting wrist pain from playing video games also became and issue which is caused by fats pressure on something. Just sharing my experience.
>>
>>42720290
I'm only 240 but it seems to start piling on more the bigger I am.
I'll stop at 300.
>>

Gym 3 times a week with work bros, cardio, and all sorts of strength training. We all fat fucks in one way or another. But I think we are finally gonna make it.

I don't want to be fat no more.
>>
>that face when you assumed you were a certain weight and then weighed yourself and it turns out you weigh significantly more

Not that it really changes what I will have to do on a daily basis to get fit again, but that was a bit of a shock.

Hmmm I don't know. I was thinking about doing this for 3 months or so, so I'd stop late november or early december.

Tot the guy arguing its really bad, do you think I'd have severe permanent damage from a couple of months. Also I've been consuming most of my fat through a drink and perhaps it hasn't been as high as it should be, so if I get lower amounts of fat is that preferable?

>>42720573
This is basically where I'm at too, my heaviest was 355 and now I'm 305, regularly exercising and lifting. I'm also 6'4".

I don't know if I want to be 200, I kind of want to burn 80% of the fat then just start bulking on muscle.

If you're eating because you're bored you need a non sedentary hobby besides just working out. Something artistic that keeps your hands moving helps a lot even if you're shit at it. Musical instruments will take years to get good at and keep your hands busy. Painting and sketching also works and you can explore your psyche some. Writing is also good until you get writer's block plus it's a lot of sitting so I wouldn't recommend that much. For more active stuff join a club that does sports. This will be more scheduled but you can get into a routine and maybe make some friends.

About a week ago I was consistently weighing in at 155. Now I'm up to 157, and have been so for like four days. I've been eating a bit more than I should (about 2000/day instead of my usual 1800, against a TDEE of 2400), but certainly haven't eaten 7000 surplus like a gain of 2 lbs would indicate. What gives? I haven't eaten a ton of sodium, and my carb intake has been relatively steady.
>>
>>42720775

How does one go about conquering their inner fatty? I lost 80lbs and hit my goal weight, but I've developed a horrible habit of binge eating. Someone explain TDEE to me. I understand how many calories per day I need for maintenance, which is around 2,770. I'm on a cut and have been counting my calories and I barely scrape 1300 throughout the day. Does this mean I'm on a deficit of 1,400 calories or what? Seems steep as fuck to me
>>
>>42722336
Yes
>>
>>42722378
Well shit that seems a bit aggressive

Went for a good long walk tonight. Used to do it all the time and I really enjoy it. Hopefully I can get back in the habit.

I want to lose some more weight before I start running again. It's pointless when you're too fat imo. When I last quit running I did five runs a week, with maybe two 10k trips. I want to get back to that and I know I will be able to next summer at the latest.
>>
>>42722397
1300 is pretty low in the long run if you're a guy.
>>
What are a couple ab exercises I can do with a medicine ball? I was thinking of throwing some abs in with my cardio days since I don't feel them getting worked while I'm lifting
>>
>>42722397
A large cut isn't bad, what's bad is getting too few calories to get the proper essential amino acids, fats, and nutrition.
Under 1,000 cals makes it very hard, 1300-1500 is just fine to get everything in.

Advice that people who cut hard usually don't get: Pay attention to your nutrition more when cutting hard so you know you get everything. Put some meals in cronometer and see what it tells you. Would recommend biotin if you are male because an unlucky few suffer hairloss as biotin isn't too easy to get in a diet.
>>
>>42722397
I eat ~800cal per day
>>
>>42722424
>>42722442
Oh, okay. My diet is mainly pasta, rice, tuna, chicken breast, steak, haddock, salmon. Need to fully start eating veggies but I do eat carrots, lettuce, onion and cucumber. Also lots of black tea and water, no sugars
>>
>>42722191
I was fat as an assistant plumber because my supervisors always stopped for fast food.
I was fat as a uni student because I was stressed out and depressed because no friends, and the cafeteria was full of garbage.
I was fat as a NEET because I had a car and nothing else to do, on top of depression.
Now that I'm in the air force I'm finally starting to get back to a healthy weight and am no longer addicted to fast food.
>>
>>42722478
Yeah add more cruciferous vegetables like spinach and kale.
Pasta and rice aren't unhealthy but are considered bulking foods for a reason, it's cheap and it isn't filling.
Just be wary of these foods and if you find yourself hungry replace some pasta/rice with more vegetables.

Would recommend fermented foods like tempeh and sauerkraut as well, really filling.
>>
Why do people say it's bad to cut more than 500kcal off your TDEE? I'm probably closer to -1500kcal and feel alright.
>>
>>42721345
Kill her and dispose of the body on the bottom of the club's compost pile. If they're composting correctly then no one will notice the smell and even her skeleton will be mostly bone by next year when they dig up what's left.

>>42721385
Has the type of food you're eating changed in any way? If your sodium intake is significantly higher than water retention might be the culprit.
>>
>>42722191
I was bullied in school for being fucking weird and ugly and that turned into crying when I got home from school, which lead to "food makes me feel better", at least momentarily so I kept just eating which turned into more bullying as I gained weight which led to full out binges.

That and large portions, before secondary/high school I wasn't /fat/ but I was kind of on the slightly chubby end of healthy- the large portions were balanced by the fact that I spent a lot of time running around outside, riding my bike etc, but when I got more anxious about going outside I started gaining more weight because I wasn't moving around as much.

My mum is fat, too. My dad lifts weights and is usually at a pretty healthy weight.
>>
>>42721881
See a therapist. Not trolling, binge eating is a symptom of serious psychological issues that require professional help.

>>42722191
Dad was in the high 200s, former smoker/alcoholic, and would sometimes eat absolute shit diet (I never saw this, but apparently he would sometimes fry up a package of pepperoni and eat it as a sandwich). After he died my mom would let me eat whole packages of Keebler cookies because she couldn't deal with the single mom life.

I am currently 6ft1 at 85 kg and I want to go down to 78-80kg by januari. I've been doing PPL for a few of months and my gains have been good, so it's not like I am 86kg of fat, but I would like to lose a few %. I am unsure what my exact body fat is at right now but I'd estimate slightly more than 20.
Lifts are at 50kg ohp, 70kg bench, 140 diddlies and 100kg squats.
Anyway I've been eating 2k and that was comfortable, but I haven't been losing any weight, I weigh the same but I have definitely increased my muscle mass. Am I screwing myself by lowering my intake to 1700? Will this only result in more muscle loss and the same amount of fat loss as 2000 or should I be alright? I just don't want to lose muscle, but I want to burn fat at a faster pace.
thanks guys

You could use the sandbag as a really big kettle bell. It would probably be more compact and efficient to get weights. If you own the cabin why not see about building a new room for work outs? Sounds like a good life goal and would solve the problem.

That's almost exactly what I've got sitting in a corner of my room. A weight rack and a small bench. Can't do inclines or declines on the bench but it's small and I can push the legs partially underneath the foot of my Queen bed. Just letting you know individual dumbells can get kind of pricey. It's about a dollar a pound once you get over 30 pounds. It really depends on how much you're willing to pay to not go to the gym. For you travel time, fuel cost, and wear and tear on your vehicle needs to be taken into account since it's much harder for you to get to the gym to even think about working out.

Dad walking out as a kid, Grandpa dying slow in hospital when I was about to enter puberty, and my Mum being very ill and slowly gaining weight as I grew up, spiced with severe bullying and shit school attendence because of it, with a side of inheriting some of my mothers sickly genes and having an motorbike accident at eighteen that gave me a bad back and killed a dream career in the process.

I was practically groomed to events into ending up a mmo-obsessed NEET. It took over a decade of what I realise was severe apathy and depression towards life and the world around me to hit 240 lb.

Then I had my 'bad day' (that extended to nearly a year) that snapped me out of my apathy.

I've been working to turn my life around this last couple of years, and losing weight and getting /fit/ is just one of several things I'm focused on.

To add to what I said I don't think it's as simple as "they don't want you to be better when they aren't".
This mentality isn't rare but imo loved ones justify the actions and health of the people they love to help them cope.
Kind of like having a GF gaining 40 pounds that you love, "it's not that bad", "she isn't unhealthy".
They might have coped and found that you in your current state was preferable and now you are leaving that state, it will take a while but after you get /fit/ they will be able to accept it more, all this is more likely if there are a lot of /fat/s in their life.

While we all have multiple reasons as to why we chose to lose weight, what was the defining moment to you? What was the specific moment that made you say "okay, I'm done being fat."

For me it was when an obese co-worker, who I always considered to be fatter than me, said he was "just as big as me." That hit me at my core.
>>
>>42722191
I had a rough high school experience, which caused depression. I turned to food for comfort and then stopped caring about my health.

When i realized that my face looks awful. I want to see myself skinny even if i'm a chinlet.

When I looked at my ultrasound exam results. Didn't look good at all.

I guess I'm fasting tomorrow then

Me. This is my third serious attempt at losing weight; the first two I was a CICO calorie counter and both times failed. I read some books that advocated losing weight by eating better foods instead of calorie counting and I'm down 20 lbs on a diet that's low on grain/starch and heavy on fruit, veg, and beans.
>>
>>42725077
Thanks anon, it wouldn't have felt so bad if it wasn't in a crowded street and having everyone suddenly staring at you feeling like they're laughing, I'm sure some even were. If I didn't find a supportive community or bros I doubt it only would motivate me, probably just make me depressed as fuck. It's these threads and the knowing I'm not alone that is driving me. We're all gonna make it.

I got diagnosed with diabetes. I guess I knew I was at risk, given weight and family history. But last year my blood sugar was fine and this year it was awful.

Now it's fine again, but I'm not going to stop losing weight until I'm actually healthy.

Sometimes I go into FPH and read stories of diabetic fatties who are letting their bodies slowly kill themselves, and it boggles my mind. How is that diagnosis not a wake up call?
>>
>>42724750
I dont count because I've been doing it for so long, I can eyeball it, I still may do it again in the future though
>>
>>42724863
I went shopping one time to get new clothes after I found that my old ones were too tight. A month later, I finally had an excuse to wear the new clothes I had bought (I don't go out much). My new clothes were too tight.
>>
>>42725215
You are T2 I assume, right? It's actually reversible.
>>
>>42725280
Honestly clothes can be the devil or an angel in disguise. I'm lifting while actually trying to eat for muscle and even then I went down an inch on my waist since I started. Feels good man.
>>
>>42725061
I'm surprised that happened to someone else. Reverse the genders and that was what happened to me. It's extra embarrassing when it's the opposite sex.
>>
>>42718904
I got blood work done. At risk for diabetes but still under control. Cholesterol is within normal range.

Doc wants me on lipitor.

I know it's late but I've buckled down. Only water, only meat and veggies.

I keep hearing negatives about lipitor
Advise?
>>
>>42725402
>I'm surprised that happened to someone else.
Lot of assholes out there regardless of gender.
>>
>>42725321
Yeah, T2.
I've dropped 50lbs and gotten my A1C to 4.9, which is in the normal range.

Assuming I stay steady I'll get off medication in October.

But I don't entirely understand the nature of reversing T2. I gather it doesn't actually go away, but perhaps insulin resistance lessens significantly?

My doctor doesn't explain shit and isn't the reason for my success, so if you have any insight let me know. But my diet and exercise are working, so I'm very happy.

>>42725437
>At risk for diabetes

You're so lucky. Last year's check up I was fine, this year I got blindsided with full blown diabetes. I'm reversing it so quickly I have to wonder if that's really what it is. I might ask for a glucose tolerance test once I'm six months off meds, or something.

I would get out of breath walking up the stairs at 13 years old. I was borderline obese.
Something clicked in me and I went "I should really do something about this," so I played DDR and lost a ton of weight. Wound up getting damn good at it too.
Ever since then I've vowed to never let myself get to that point ever again. I don't even drink soda anymore.
>>
>>42722191
Bad genes (every woman in family is overweight) plus a busy single mum who would let us feed ourselves and didn't teach us healthy eating.

Started weed, lost 100lbs.

Started antidepressants and antipsychotics and gained it all back...

Fuck...

A couple of days after my donut fiasco and I'm reasonable confident that the damage was minimal

Decent genes and being an active youngun meant that me and my siblings stayed thin pretty easy

We basically were allowed to eat whatever we wanted in whatever quantity, and I was the biggest eater of all

Unfortunately that only intensified after my mother passed and I tended to eat my feelings away

Still, kept pretty okay up until the end of high school what with sports and such. But aside from those things, I've always been kind of a lazy shit, and in retrospect gaining access to the internet is probably the one thing to happen that has fucked me the hardest

After I went off to college, that's when things went to shit. Food choices were plentiful and at my sole discretion, I got homesick and depressed and ate, and I didn't have the familia to coax me into staying active

And here, some years later, that became the new norm

Wasn't until my doctor raised some red flags about my weight gain last year that I gave any thought to the possibility of making a change, and it took until April of this year before I actually starting to fix my self

Surprisingly, instead of what frequently would happen, where I'd go for a few days, maybe even a week or two, then something would come up and I'd lapse (same with eating less and better), I found myself actually forming a steady routine

Then I found these threads and I've been working with ya'll ever since

If you think you'd use it a lot in place of pasta. You can spiralize a good bit of fruits, veggies and squashes.

When I make homemade spaghetti sauce and use zucchini in place of noodles, I really can't taste a difference besides it tasting fresher and not feeling like a fat pig afterwards.

Go until you are at a weight you are happy with. I'm 5'4 and I'm shooting for 130/140ish, but I'll go lower if I have to to get rid of the gut and moobs.

Remember: loose skin is often just excess fat clinging to skin, and belly fat and chest fat often only disappear at 15% body fat or lower. Depending on your goals, you may not be happy with your appearance even at a normal BMI for your height.

Also, stop avatarfagging sports Pepe dude.
