I'm doing ok. Day 5 of my 2 week fast. Going good. Been drinking ~3 gallons of water/day, smoking 8-10 cigarettes, and on an EC stack to keep my energy up while my apitite down. Shits hard man. Was doing well until Sunday. Had McDonald's and beer while playing cards with some friends.

Yesterday was hungover, so binged on comfort food and laid in bed all day. Skipped the gym.

I woke up late today, skipped breakfast, had an 800 calorie sandwich for lunch, actually got my shit together and took care of a bunch of errands, then ate a fuck load of sushi rolls with the girlfriend.

Decided the only way Id be able to sleep tonight is if I went to the gym.

Did my SS with arm accessories. Deadlifts still leave me with an extremely tight lower back, but the feeling dissapates after just a few minutes, so im unsure if it's a bad thing.

Workout was great, but my stomach is still full of fucking rice, and I cant look at myself in the mirror.

Had social obligations today. Drank thee corona lights and one Michelob Ultra. Ate a grilled barbecue chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon on it and fries on the side. Knew it was coming so I fasted all day except for one scoop of protein powder with water and lots of black coffee. No way to accurately count the food's calories because i was out to eat, but still weighed in at 162 pounds when I got home. Should wake up at or under 160 tomorrow morning. Every time i'm close to making it i'm hit with a set back. it's like divine intervention is preventing me from making it. this is the 4th time something like this has happened.

I'm slowly changing my diet and eating habits.
Walking around town in the early morning and only having between 800-1200 cals a day.
Trying to not have cheat days and haven't had anything fast food in 2 weeks.
It's hard, but seeing the weight drop is motivation to stay the path.

Can't afford to hit the gym at the moment, but trying to up my walk. Doing 3.5 miles in about an hour.

I'm overweight and I want to start losing it, but the one that has concerned me is stretch marks. I have stretch marks on my belly, around my armpits, and shoulders and I want to be attractive but the thought of having permanent ugly scars on my skin is discouraging. People will respect the person you become they will see you as someone who worked hard to obtain the body youve always wanted and the skin and stretch marks will be a reminder to you of the body you decided to leave behind effectively keeping you from falling into your old habits. Theres an amazing channel on YT called ObeseToBeast, he makes videos about dealing with extreme weight loss and loose skin. Hes incredibly motivating I recommend you look at some of his videos.

I've had these pictures for a while, but have been super lazy in editing them since I really fucked up. I let a cheat day turn into a cheat week which lasted another week and I had to relose weight. At least I'm no longer considered obese bmi right? Another thing that gets to me is I can barely tell that I've lost weight when I wear clothes and if it weren't for me taking these pictures I probably wouldn't even tell the difference. Currently I've lost over 45 Lbs / 20 kg and I still feel the same only slightly less fat. Alright, fair enough. Circumstances are that I had to go to a social gathering to maintain social mass. There was no one forcing me to drink or eat, but, for me and my peers, drinks and dinner is usually a thing where you go a few rounds together, eat, and then leave. Had I not done this I could potentially have shattered my carefully constructed façade of being a normal functioning adult male and exposed myself as the broken fucked up 4chan posting weirdo that I really am inside. From 230lbs you should have lost 20 pounds in 4 months eating 1800 calories/day. You were pretty close (80% of expected weight loss)

From 214lbs you should have lost 40 pounds in 6 months eating 1500 calories/day. You were way off (25% of expected weight loss)

From 204lbs you should have lost 35 pounds in 4 months eating 1200 calories/day. You were way off again (11% of expected weight loss)

From 200lbs you should have lost 60 pounds in 6 months eating 1000 calories/day. You weren't even in the same ballpark (3% of expected weight loss)

If you were actually eating those calorie amounts and adjusting for TDEE changes as you lost weight, you would be at 100lbs right now.

God I know what you mean. I'm French and used to eat 2 baguettes a day with cheese. Hardest part of my cut.
Don't buy them, at least if you have cravings, you'll eat other stuff, preferably shit like carrot or lettuce instead of pasta.

Not having anything to snack on is a real relief tho. No risk of binge eating a week of progress

Some tips for my brother.
Satiety is fulfilled with protein, fat, fiber, volume, and carbs.
In that order, carbs hardly do shit to keep you full.
Volume only works for a shorter amount of time, but drinking lots of water and eating foods with high volume and few calories (think cruciferous vegetables, broccoli, spinach, kale, etc) will keep you full for very little and has fiber which lasts a while.
Focus on getting plenty of fiber, protein, and volume each meal to stay full.

Some suggestions...

I don't do daily tracking anymore since I mostly got the hang of it. Here's a recent day I did to check my macros though. Its pretty typical, as I mostly stick to portioned stuff so I can track it properly. I do the salad lunch maybe 3-4 work days a week, otherwise I go with coworkers and its probably 4-500 calories more. So I average a bit higher.

I've tried doing 2 or 3 day water fasts over the weekends recently too, not sure if that's a good idea though. I haven't lost anything from it and I feel like shit.

Hey guys, just came back from my official first workout...okay that's bullshit. It's just a cycle.
I'm not morbidly obese right now--just lost 50 pounds from being a starving student and, at 170, am finally getting into exercising. Some of the results, however, seem kind of odd.

It should be pretty clear to you by your own numbers that you are eating near maintenance calories if you aren't losing weight.

~2125 calories instead of 1500 calories (214lbs->204lbs, should have been 176lbs)
~2175 calories instead of 1200 calories (204lbs->200lbs, should have been 170lbs)
~2225 calories instead of 1000 calories (200lbs->198lbs, should have been 143lbs)

Again, that's using the lowest activity level. If you actually were working out as much as you say, you were actually eating much more.

So i've been doing keto for a while. Lost 55 lbs this summer, 230 to 175. Last week I got sick with a stomach virus, and this week has been a combination of birthdays, practice presentations, and orientation so the free junk food (I won't pass up free food if it means saving money) has been plentiful this week. After Friday it should be back to normal, however, and things are looking up for me.

Already I've been solving more bouldering problems and getting farther up the various climbing routes at the climbing wall. My back and shoulders are probably my strongest parts but carrying 240lbs (6'2) up a wall gets tiring real fast. I want to focus more on climbing than lifting, so I think I'll be switching to lifting twice, climbing three times once the semester starts. As a TA my schedule will be totally open so I have no excuse not to eat well and get my hours in at the gym.

Thanks, I'll try that this evening. When I started changing my diet, I looked into cottage cheese and couldn't believe how good its macros are/were. I knew I wanted to be eating more of it but I hated it at first. I forced myself to eat it every single meal until I liked it because I was determined to enjoy it. Yeah it's pretty fucking great. I used to (and still do) add it to almost every meal as just a lump that I ate with the meal but not really incorporating it into dishes. Goes great with lots of things since the flavour is so light you won't even notice it.

On day 6 of my two week fast. Currently 125, @ 5' 6", only ten more pounds from being underweight :) hopefully this fast gets me there. Been drinking ~3 gallons of water a day, smoking 8-9 cigarettes, and am on a hardcore ECA stack to help increase my energy and decrease my appetite. Hopefully I will be able to look in the mirror and not think of suicide after this :) wish me luck lads. We are all going to make it

Muscles burn calories passively--they essentially raise your TDEE by existing.

Cardio will help you slim down faster, but it is not necessary. "Abs are made in the kitchen" is not a meme, your cut matters more than cardio. If you don't have the time, will, or access to safe cardio (like swimming because you're a hamplanet and don't want to hurt your joints), abstaining isn't going to kill your progress.

I'm not anyone who's been responding to you, but I'm going to be honest with you. Those stretch marks are going to seem eternal, but they are slowly changing. They will never disappear. I lost 80lbs since December and did it way too fast. My obliques have multiple pearly white scars from stretch marks and my groin has beef red ones. I am in the best and strongest shape of my life. I still have a shredded stomach, disgusting groin, and an overhang on my lower abs that looks abnormal (chunky, riddled with scars because of stretch marks). I am never going to take my shirt off at the beach despite my gains and friends asking me to. I can tell you about the options I've thought about and explored if you'd like anon.
