Went over 100g of carbs the last 2 days lads. Feels terrible, but I'll work hard in the gym tomorrow.

>>
>>42500229
Yeah I definitely did, that I made sure of. I just hate going over 100g of carbs.
>>
>>42500229
Not that anon but I ate some carbs on a low carb diet, stayed under my caloric limit, but my weight shot up from 226 to 232 the next day. Is it water weight?
>>
>>42499542
Had a chicken wing and some lentil chips yesterday even though it brought me over my daily calories(also pretty sure the wing had dairy and maybe gluten, two things I'm trying to cut out completely). Ate less today to make up for it, but I wish it hadn't happened to begin with.
>>
>>42500233
fair enough m8, i get that feeling. just try not to keep beating yourself over it. mental gains are as important as physical gains.

using it as motivation to go to the gym is very good tho, but dont overdo it. dont run/ lift through body pain or anything. exercise caution lad.

>>42500234
>is it water weight
i think its just temporary weight gain, nothing permanent. stick to your low carb diet and everything will go back to normal soon enough. no need to panic.
>>
>>42500260
>but dont overdo it. dont run/ lift through body pain or anything
I'm not. I took today as a rest day anyways, I'm feeling good and ready to go back.
>>
>>42499780

>>
>>42500260
What is temporary weight gain?
>>
>>42500262
good stuff. seems like you know what you're doing. keep going and you'll make it.
>>
>>42500267
im no expert but my understanding is that consuming a relatively big amount of simple carbs and/or sodium cause your body to hold excess water. this in turn leads to excess weight on the scale. it isn't actual weight gain because it isn't actual adipose tissue.

perhaps someone else could link to research that proves this. my anecdotal experience (for what its worth) is that my weight always seems to shoot up for a few days when i go overboard on simple carbs (cake, beer, pizza) and salty foods. goes back to normal after sticking to the diet.
>>
>>42500312
I have that exact experience with carbs and sodium. If I have a cheat day, the scale will say I somehow gained 5 pounds.

Only if you run. Walking is always easy, but you can decide how hard you want to go when on a bike.

Sure, peddle like fuck on a bike and burn a shit load of calories then burn out. Or walk at a slower pace where you take much longer to tire out and you will use your energy better which will burn more calories. Not only does it require more energy to move the same distance but you also don't get to be a lazy cunt and ride down hills for a break. Up and down is both done manually.

I kept getting stuck on C25K weeks 3 to 4 so I decided to give it a break and try something low impact like the elliptical. It has an interval setting on ours so it will increase and decrease resistance for set time periods. I would try to maintain the same RPM no matter what the resistance. It was knackering at first but I ended up regularly doing it for 25mins with the base resistance set at 5 (not sure what resistance it would go to at the peak moments).

I found when I went back to C25K, it was so much easier. Elliptical really helped with my endurance, I would recommend sticking with it.

I'm going to the gym today so I'll take a picture of the display. I can probably work out what minutes and resistance it's using from that for the programme. I'm going to guess if you've bought an elliptical it's not a high tech one so you'll need to be changing the resistance yourself?

I've tried looking for an online picture of it but I'm just getting other peoples plan interval programmes - I can see if any of these match up.
>>
>>42501329
It's a little on the cheap side but I put it together so it's stable. And yeah, never messed with resistance. Could be I've just had it set wrong to start.

Whenever I tell people what gym I go to they say, "Oh - the posh gym!". It's quite expensive but the facilities are great and I go 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day. I have corporate discount which brings it down from £45/m to £38/m. Its the Nuffield chain in the UK.

It has a pool, jacuzzis, saunas. All classes are included in the monthly fee so I go to some Les Mills classes, yoga and boxing. Huge cardio section and huge weightlifting section. They recently brought in some new treadmills which are powered by you running on them (see pic attached). They cost £9k each.

I used to get mad anxiety and a tight chest as I walked there, I don't anymore. Its part of my routine and I look forward to going each day.

Hey fatties. 236lb nov 2016 -192lb march 2017. Hitting gym past 11 weeks starting at 192lb... Went up to 198lb cruising 195lb right now, but adding more cardio so expect to drop 0.5lb a week while gaining muscle.

I was a 38in jean. Made it to a 36 inch jean in January. Just got a pair of £90 jeans for £17, bnwt, on ebay, 34' waist. They're too big. These motherfuckers better shrink. I'm sure they run a little large but still.

Friendly remind you can make it. I'm not there yet but I no longer check your threads, but between nov16-nov17 I plan to have dropped 50lb, 70lb fat + 20lb-30 gain in muscle.

I was eating 1500 calories no exercise, and to break to 205-199lb plateau I had to eat 1200kcal strictly for weeks. Once you start exercising regularly you can eat again but you have to break the habit first.

The thought of eating takeaway or even lower end restaurant sickens me now. I ate friend chicken on the weekend, first time in 6 weeks that has not been 'good food' I made myself and all I could think after was that I would have preferred a bowl of oats with a few teaspoons of sugar.

Anyway, which one of you just sold me a pair of gifted jeans they couldn't fit into?

I'm not gonna make it.

That's strange considering that there has to be atleast some degree of physical attraction.

I used to be a size 20/22 (whale size) about eight years ago, lost it all- got down to a size 8/10 (pick related- me at around a size 10 back then)- and then got into medschool. Three years of sitting on my ass in lectures (plus working my backside off every hour studying) and I'm back up 20kg. I've been working at it properly this summer, and I'm down 5kg since the beginning of the summer but...

It kills me that I can't run anymore- I went from running marathons to having a panic attack about wanting to run a 5k outdoors just encase I can't do it anymore (currently only running on the treadmill). The only thing that's saved me is swimming- I swim six days a week early in the morning before placement. I've actually managed to succeed at teaching myself something that resembles a front crawl and can successfully swim for 45 minutes now doing a mixture of breast stroke/front crawl (mostly the latter now).

It just bloody sucks knowing my skinny jeans are in my cupboard. Any tips to get back outside running again chaps? Think I've just about got my diet under control now.

I know it's a load of excuses- but lectures and the stress of getting through med school has killed off any confidence I had.

>>42501478

Have you looked at your local councils offers? I'm a student and when I signed up to our local gym they had a students rate (£25 a month), and then another rate for people on JSA (it's called a recreation card- basically every session you do is £1.20 instead of the usual fee)- might be worth looking into if you do want to swim!

I've been a yoyo dieter most of my life. Lost about 3 stone when I was 19 - got cancer the next year, depression kicked in and put the weight back on.

Years later, dropped 4 stone - got into a long term relationship that went to shit and put it back on again plus interest.

This time, I've come to the conclusion that maintaining the lifestyle of exercising and healthy eating FOREVER is the only way to do it. Sure, you can have a treat day every so often, but it's all about balance. I've lost nearly 90lbs in the last year and have realised that forgetting the weight loss, the actual lifting and cardio makes me feel better, more human - so I need to keep it up till the day I die. Which is fine by me.

>tldr - motivation is knowing that the second I stop trying, it will all go to shit and I'll feel depressed and anxious again. Fuck that.
>>
>>42501862
Yeah I don't understand why people think they should put no effort into their appearance, 90% of people are average looking but they use make up, get a hair cut that complements their head/face, wear good looking clothes, and care about their body, it's really all that matters

For fucks sake, guys. I kinda fucked up last night. I was supposed to be fasting for the weekend, and I was doing fine. All of a sudden I found myself eating around 400-700 calories worth of food and drinking soda. The worst part is, I wasn't even hungry. I just did it for no reason. I know it wasn't really that bad, but how the fuck do you guys cope with fucking up on your goals?
>>
>>42503244
Cut your losses. When you wake up the next day, make better choices. Guilt just leads to eating.
>>
>>42503060

Why not just extend your jogging time into say... A run? Start with C25K and go from there- even just running say 5k three-four times a week will burn quite a few calories dependent on what weight you are at.

Even when I was in marathon training mode my longest run of the week was 20 miles, with a few 3-6 mile runs dotted in during the week. 20 miles a day would have killed me at my fittest after a week, I wouldn't advise it.

>>42503244

Put on my big girl/boy pants, accept I fucked up and move on. I find there's no point beating myself up/starving myself/dwelling on it- just try and avoid the situation next time.

You didn't exactly eat a massive amount, 1k calories at most by the sounds of things.
>>
>>42503272

It'll burn calories and make you fitter if that's what you're after- but I'd still stick to my original advice of working through C25K. Running will burn you more calories, and as you're doing intermittent jogging anyway you might as well slowly build that up to a 30 minute run. You could even do it alongside the walking if you like on 'rest' days (so spend three days C25k and then 2 days 4 mile walk).

I'd be tempted to see how you get on- going from doing absolutely nothing to walking 4 miles a day might be a bit of a stretch dependent on your base fitness. Best of luck anon!
>>
>>42503333
Thanks for the chart. I'm no couch potato but I'm used to heavy lifting than long walks and such. My main goal is to go from my 235 or so to 190. And to get to the point that I can run two miles in at least 15 minutes, at the very slowest.
>>
Today marks my 1 month anniversary of my journey to no longer be a fat fuck.

I'm 6'1, 19 years old

July 14th I weighed 309 lbs, and was super lazy, never left the house, ate like a pig and ate the worst shit, etc.

Today, August 14th I weigh 288 lbs, and I'm eating a lot healthier, have only drank water for the month (other than like a Dr. pepper twice), and I've been trying to get out a lot more. I feel like I'm making okay progress and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. Cutting all of the bad stuff out of my life honestly hasn't even been that hard, the only hard thing was actually getting myself to start. But I did, and it'll probably be the best decision I'll make in my life.

Good luck all you other /fat/ties, you can do it.
>>
I think I'm done with this place
went to see my gp (under duress) and he told me to stop losing weight
I'll probably be back in 6 months when I'm fat again because I'm a failure of a human and I cannot just be fucking normal about anything
now I've made myself upset
good luck every body
>>
>>42503368

I've always been told with running that you get the distance first- then the speed. So, if you want to aim to run a fast 2 miles, then ideally you likely want to be running double that. There's no point trying to work on speed when you don't have the endurance to run for the full mileage. Think of it this way - you want to run a fast 2 miles- but currently, it takes all your effort just to run 2 miles- however, if you could run say 4 miles - then you can use the extra effort you'd normally use for the 4 miles to run the 2 miles faster. Hopefully, that makes sense!

So, I'd be really tempted to make your way up to say the 10k mark (start with C25k- then go from there adding in extra time/distance etc until you hit 10k), and then start adding in some speed training sessions.
>>
>>42503429

I just take it by weeks, if Im seeing progress even if its only say a pound and a half some weeks I know im still moving in the right directions, I havent had the problem but I know a lot of fatties want to lose weight fast but you have to understand that you didnt get as big as you are in 4 months so you're not going ot lose 1/3 of your body weight in that time either, you just have to keep focused.

For reference I was 212 at the start of the year, by april I was around 190, I stopped at that time to see if I could maintain as to make sure I didnt lose my weight too fast and to see if the diet was actual change in my lifestyle, I started again around late july and am now 182 and know that I still have a good 35 to go til Im where I can start feeling ''healthy'' but Im sure ill get there eventually.

Also oats aren't the best cutting food, works for some but it's better to get carbs from green vegetables as they have hardly any calories.

Today my breakfast was:
cup of broccoli
85 g collard greens/kale
2 slices of thick bacon
150 g sauerkraut

140 calories from bacon, 25 calories from greens, less than 40 cals from broccoli, and like 40 cals from sauerkraut.
That's a lot sauerkraut, learn to eat foods with few calories.

Set a couple alarms (use your phone as one too) and place one across the room.
After waking you will have to get up and walk to the other one.
Maybe have a caffeine pill by your bedside, take it in the morning.

r8 my dinner:
1/4th red onion
1/4th red pepper
1 small carrot
1 boat of garlic
100g or so of bacon
1 dl uncooked whole wheat pasta
some soft cheese where 80% of it is based on goat milk, and 20% on cow cream,
1 tbsp butter

Was pretty tasty desu, just waiting for my stomach to turn since it's a new type of bacon, the cheese was untried too, and my body don't like new stuff.
Hopefully the probiotic milk I had with it helps.

Gonna head to the gym in 30 minutes or so, hopefully it will be fruitful. For post-workout I was gonna have skyr with added protein.

I drink a lot of dairy it seems..

GP does not equal an actual nutritionist.
GPs will tell everyone to stop doing what they are doing if they are under duress due to not wanting to get sued, they will tell you to stop lifting if you say you are sore.
Go to someone who actually knows what they are talking about, that doctor only took 1, at max 2 classes on nutrition in his life.

Also what problems were you experiencing?
>>
>>42503640
Count calories or die, you have no idea how many calories you eat.
It's been proven time and time again that people with eating disorders (both fatties and anorexics) have no idea what calories they eat, even when they try to help their diet they are no way near what they are supposed to eat.
Keep only drinking water, tea, and maybe coffee, caffeine helps with hunger.
When hungry just drink 2 L of water and gorge on green vegetables that aren't peas.

Stetching is a meme. At best it does nothing but build pain tolerance and at worst it makes your muscles less ready to deal with injury. Warm up by doing light weight sets of the same exercise.

just a thought.
that guy who dun got that surgery for being fat is going to die of malnutrition
or at least suffer ill health from malnutrition
my theory is based on his candid talking of the subject
he says that he doesn't want to eat junk food any more, but he's also struggling to eat healthy foods too
I believe this is because if he had the choice of pizza or an apple, he'd choose pizza
if he had the choice of an apple or nothing, he'd choose nothing

Left was taken the day after Halloween 2016. I weighed 360lbs, took the pic after my first time on a stationary bike I got from mom. On the right is today, weigh 220, just got down weight lifting. I'm 6 foot even for the record. Did it with IF and eating clean. Still have days I binge eat but I keep them to less than once a month. Do cardio and weightlifting alternating days with 1 day of rest per week. Trying to get down to 180 and just see how much muscle I can pack on. I still got a ways to go but i'm gonna make it, we all are gonna make it.

A part of me wants to give up.
Years of sedentary lifestyle and shitty diet has not only made me fat, but has twisted my body, made my joints stiff, and just the normal form for exercizes is next to impossible.

When I stand straight, my right foot is twisted somewhat, so for deadlifting, I get a weird angle, like I'm holding back rotation outwards and get this bizarre pull.
Nor am I able to pull back or lock my shoulderblades, there is nothing to lock.

For squats, I can't keep my back straight, I can't go deep enough, I can't bend enough at the thigh. And the twist makes it feels like I'm doing the start of a sprinting competition, pushing by an angle, but since it's somewhat twisted it goes straight upwards.
I can't get a grip on the bar due to shoulders being stiff and rounded, my shoulders seem angled when I'm holding it straight. Or what I consider to be straight. I look in the mirror, and it seems like my body is turned, but I look straight down, everything looks fine when it comes to the 30% feet.

A part of me wants to give up. Just the most basic of basic movement is hard for me.

Ordered a healthy steak and veggie dish last night. They suggested I sub for a different cut of steak since the first was sold out.

Instead of veggies ,it was served on a bed of fries. I'll be walking an extra few hours as penance.

Its hard to fathom that six months ago this would have been a win, but of curse back then I wouldn't have considered the healthier dish anyway.
