I haven't the read the sticky in a while, but what I can tell from what I've read here is lifting isn't essential but is good for burning calories and will help prevent you being a skinnyfat at the end.

To lose weight you need only be under your TDEE, this can be achieved by eating less and exercising.
Cardio will very slightly help metabolism but that's it, though it's great for you heart so do it.
Weight lifting will keep more muscle on your bones and make you look good.
Remember diet if you want to be thinner, diet and exercise if you want to look good and have an easier time keeping off the fat (more muscles=more calories).

No this isn't convention, convention is to always lift.
Lifting is low impact and doesn't hurt your joints, there's no reason a fatty shouldn't be lifting while losing weight, it will only make the fat loss more drastic and allow them to fill up volume under the skin so saggy skin won't be as bad.

Diet only if you want, it will work but you will regret it when you look like shit, trust me.
Get in the routine of taking care of your body now anon.

Tryhards always want you to eat healthy to be healthy, but YOU DONT HAVE TO EAT HEALTHY. You dont have to eat home cooked meals, or buy oats and broccoli in a grocery store. That shit will only help you live longer at the expense of enjoying life.

You can eat like shit and lose weight. I'm losing weight eating at pizza places. One slice of pizza is at most 5-7 hundred calories, usually less. I go to work and have a fish taco and walk home grabbing a dank ass shit-burger from 7-11. Just dont buy two pizza slices like a fatass or get a fucking soda with it like a dumbass. Small meals, not 'value meals.'

Also, lift weights ya cheap fuck. It's more fun than cardio.

I'm eating less than 10k weekly and went from not one pull up to 2 full pull ups in one month.

To lose weight just eat under your calories, carbs don't matter for that. However you got to get a lot of protein to build muscle & carbs are much less important; I eat about 1g per lb lean body mass & when I eat enough protein and less carbs I always feel so much better, have more energy & feel more full.

I eat 2 eggs a day and I'm fine. As long as you don't go crazy with it I think it's fine

I usually lift 3x a week; mwf and do cardio on off days. Keeps me on track better

Idk, I do it just because it takes like 30 seconds and I like to see how I'm doing. I try to keep everything ceteris paribus (I eat roughly the same thing every day, weigh myself at the same time, etc.), and I understand there's still gonna be fluctuations, I just hope to minimize them. I guess it might be healthier to weigh myself weekly, but I like to see them numbers go down.

I'm getting vertical sleeve in about a month, I can't wait /bros/

I can go without food fine, but as soon as I have a few bites of anything... some hormone activates and I can't stop feeling hungry, like primal level hunger. I've been able to maintain a month but the hunger eventually breaks me.

It takes about 8 hours for the hunger to stop after it starts, doc suspects since my stomach is so large the stomach is creating the hormones when it starts taking in food.

I'm trying to motivate myself to get back on track again but I have maintain a liquid diet at least 10 days before till the surgery date which hasn't been set yet. I just don't want to break in the middle of keeping to it.

Been drinking it on and off for about 6-7 months I think. I don't drink too hot drinks, I think. I have a rather low sense of pain in my mouth so usually I get my coffee to be lukewarm and chug it.
Anyhow, yes, I have problems swallowing stuff, and it does feel like there's something stuck there. Occasionally, I can cough up a hard piece of snotlike structure and spit it out. But my doctor thinks it's just anxiety causing it due to a long in and out of therapy and long term issues that's getting worse. Also had ultrasound done which showed no issues in whatever organ is in the throat.
I do intend to see a doctor about my throat very soon, since I have gotten a lump above my adams apple, and if I push on the organ, it does feel better when it's off balance (that I push it a few mm to either side and hold it).

The swallowing part feels more that it's tight and if I drink something it goes smoothly, but I can't swallow pills, not even gelatin ones without water since it feels as if they are just stuck somewhere back in my throat too deep to take out, but not deep enough to enter my stomach.

Not gonna work. Your bare minimum calories for the day should include that protein intake.

My inexact numbers were ~160lbs of lean body mass, so I shoot for 160g of protein a day. If you manage that efficiently, you can do it within 1500 calories, but you also need some other nutrients in a day so that you don't shit yourself.

If it's a significant amount it may be loose skin, and if you're not producing significant amounts of collagen that will never heal.

If it's just a small bit of extra skin, then start building your core muscles like mad, if it's a gunt flap, then surgery.

It's mostly the tight throat and fear of throwing up - anxiety in general. The organ itself works fine I suppose. It's the lump and a fear of having something that causes me to visit the doctor. I don't keep track, but I'd estimate I'm drinking between 1 or 2 gallons of water a day. I had to get up 2x last night to piss, and then again immediately in the morning when my alarm went off.

Small snacks are just giving you blood sugar spikes that will make you more and more hungry and less likely to burn off fat (you'll burn ingested carbs first).
Carbs aren't literally hitler but intermittent fasting is great because you are far more balanced and just have on spike during the day.
Metabolism won't slow down anon, that isn't a thing with IF (which is well researched) and actually if you wake up fasted you produce HGH for a few hours and will actually burn more fat if you do cardio, so lifting and cardio gains in the morning eating at night.

Carbs are not filling, if you have trouble staying satiated on your diet cut out carbs and fill it with fat, protein, or fiber.
Eat bread if you love it but there are far more filling things out there for less calories with more nutrients.

To get healthy you need to exercise.

You are fat ,so you aren't healthy. HAES is bullshit. Losing weight is great, but you should also be using this time to get in shape.

I burn 2000+ calories a day working out. My body burns 2100 naturally per day. So total I'm burning 4100+ calories a day. I'm only eating around 1000 or so. Meaning that every day I'm losing a bit less than a pound.

My stomach is starting to feel very loose, the fat there is now mushy and squishy (actually kind of odd to feel it). I'm getting a hell of a lot stronger as time goes on, meaning I can work out harder and burn even more.

Your parents probably gave you snacks when you were crying, they fed you when you were happy, sad, anxious, etc.
Food is used as a drug for a lot of people, you associate it with every feeling, even boredom.
Break those habits, gain new associations, listen to music when you're sad, chew gum when your anxious, etc.

Your body has a natural regulation system for calories in, calories out. You eat when you're hungry until you're full, then you stop. As long as you're working out every day, your body won't be in "winter mode", meaning it will be trying to keep you slim and active.

This is a natural feedback loop in your brain. But this loop is short circuited by sugar. Your body ALWAYS wants sugar, whether you're hungry or not. Once you start eating it, you only want more of it.

The secret to maintaining a healthy low-effort diet is simply to cut out all artificial sugars.

Talking about psychological reasons to eat food m8, most people won't become obese just because of sugar.
Sugar does cause insulin spikes which make people hungrier than they should be.
Relying on fullness will not work for the vast majority of people, the body doesn't know exactly when maintenance happens.
That is not backed up by science and if we look at how animals evolve they eat more than they need because tomorrow they might not have food.
Evolutionary biology (which isn't always spot on) doesn't happen because the universe wants you to be healthy or live long, it wants you to get through puberty and fuck.
We are humans and should look past that, we want to live long and be healthy doing it.

Also look at some studies about nitrates.

Will add that the beauty of CICO is that if you eat less than your TDEE you will lose weight, and if the TDEE is off just eat less.
This doesn't mean however that there aren't many factors on how you lose the weight (fat or muscle? what type of fat?) and the exact amounts of weight.
Almost everyone's weight loss slows down, and don't go spouting "muh physics" because you are not a simple engine.
Leptin, test, cortisol, estrogen, many things affect weight loss rates and it's out of the ordinary to have an exact linear relationship between CICO and weightloss over a period of time because hormones change.
