There is no point in paying for a DXA scan as a fatass, bodyfat percentage only matters when you're close to your goal. There was a fatty here a couple months ago who didn't lift and had a DXA scan and thought his lean mass was like 100+ kilos because of his bf%, which is like elite level natty (he was like 6'4" iirc, so it's not because of his height). And the bf% measurement has to be repeated as you progress, so DXA is pretty much out of the question, your best bet really is getting calipers.

So after using several different BMI calculators, I am seeing that those that involve measurements of the neck, hips and/or waist are putting me at 22/23% while others are placing me 4-5% higher.

I had great success with /keto/ so I thought, fuck it, I can have carbs, I can control myself and /CICO/.

I understand that keto still works by CICO, but I spend much less time being hungry on keto making it easier to stick to.

I gained back 3 pounds in 3 days. I think I can only stick to 1500 kcal/day while eating keto.

Yeah, that would be pretty difficult. That said, I am addicted to carbs. I quit smoking 2.5 years ago after dozens of failed attempts to quit. It was one of the hardest things I've had to use my willpower to resist. Carbs are right up there with that for me, but carbs are much easier.

Thankfully, I'm overweight, but not obese. 6'2" and 200 is bad, but it could be so much worse. My problem is that I've been in a "diet" for the last 5 years. It's become such a normal part of my life that starting a new diet has no effect, the willpower always runs out.

BUT this time I've lost 9 pounds so far, and that's the best progress I've made in over a year. I have a feeling this time will be the time that I make it.
