How long has this been going on? Your weight fluctuates so if you lose a certain amount over a course of a few days it won't always last. It could also be water weight so make sure you're drinking plenty of water and try to keep the sodium low.

Chances are you will drop back down after a few days. But like others said, make sure you're getting an accurate reading of your calories. Although if your estimate is that low then it would be pretty hard to be over eating unless you're a fucking manlet.

Had a good way, this new diet of weetabix protein for breakfast with coconut milk and no calorie sweetener, then a big vegetable/vegetarian meal later is working well. I have plateau'd a little but I think it was mostly water weight, got down to 207 again after being at 210 yesterday.

Besides weetabix protein I had 4 quorn frankfurters on some mustard and ketchup, with red cabbage/onion, did so much of it that I gave half to my dad. I think that was probably 500 calories at most, then my snack and other shit was probably 250, so overall definitely had a low day. What's nice is all the protein and big vegetable meals makes me not nearly as hungry. I definitely had fallen off the wagon for a good while though, and basically got into the mindset of waiting for the next cheat meal, which had gotten to be almost weekly.

One terrible meme I had was went to Frank and Benny's and ordered a "small spaghetti" meal that turned out to be like a kg of spaghetti so probably 1000 calories that fucked me for days.

Anyone here use protein powder? Been considering it, maybe in place of protein bars, but IDK if that's a good idea on a diet for the calories or whatever. In the UK if that makes a difference too, and I'm vegetarian.

Over the span of now almost a month I've just sat here mostly thinking about my next meal, logging into Twitch and surfing the internet without accomplishing anything. Playing a fucking video game is an accomplishment at the moment.

I wish this translated to losing more weight as that's a huge focus now but I'm to the point 2-3lbs a week is all that's possible. I miss when I was a 300lb fatty and could lose 5lbs a week easy, was so satisfying to get on the scales nearly every day. Still, proud of myself getting down to almost 200lbs now only since last summer.

I know eating say, 800 calories (well below the safe range of 1200) is meant to be fine if you then eat like 1500 calories, but does it really pan out like that? Does the body just fuck up your calorie burning and burn way less as a result, absorb the food and enter a lockdown if you go well below 1200? What if you do like 1000 then 1500 the next day? It doesn't seem logical for the body to just robotically treat these numbers in a vacuum, but IDK, anyone have any idea? Cardio isn't a meme but it shouldn't be all that you do. Cardio makes you look the same shape but smaller, weights change your body's shape. Cardio makes you lose fat as well as muscle, so if you add in weights you won't lose as much muscle while also changing your body's shape instead of just making your gut smaller. Just do a bit of both, preferably more weights than cardio. But cardio's still an important factor, especially in the early stages of weight loss.

I'm a vegetarian in the UK and I use MyProtein's diet whey protein. It's cheap and they have sales often. 21g protein and 95 calories for the women's one, idk about the normal one. Definitely helps me meet my macros and tastes really nice imo.

The best advice I can give to any young person is to be a selfish piece of shit. Many are mindcontrolled with obligation and guilt and never reach their place in life. If you were to ask your mom what she would have wanted when she just gave birth to you, she would want you to achieve your dreams at any cost. I'm not saying abandon your mom, but you should never feel you HAVE to sacrifice everything to take care of her.

I know its hard because I had similar issues when I was young and it was single handidly the worst mistake of my life. Starting mile - 24 min
Now hitting - 19 min mile, 5mile takes about 1hr 20m, mountain side walking so path is a bit more difficult.
Average calorie burn (per walk) - 800 - 1000
Average calorie burn (existing) - 1500 - 1800 (roughly)
Average calorie intake v burn (daily) - -900cal

Current weight - 18st 4lb (257.6lbs)

No lifting just calorie counting and 5 mile walks it's taken 2 weeks to hit this weight so far one 3 meals a day.

What other excercise should I add (that can be done at home) without a lot of gym equipment that will help me burn faster?

Evidently entered ketosis as I abruptly lost 3.4 lbs in a night, despite drinking some michelob ultras at a friend's.

Still hungry but the body is adjusting for it now so its less annoying, I didn't have to slug 3L of water to keep my head off of it.

Well first and foremost you should keep up that exercise but don't count it towards your calorie goal. Meaning that if you burn 200 kcal you don't get to add it back.

At your height and weight I think if you cut down to eating at 2000 kcal a day you would see some significant loss in a short amount of time but that will be hard.

Also don't hold your parents responsible for your choices, we are who we choose to be. Tell her that you want to make a change and if she wants to join you, you'd be happy to help her.

Long and the short of it, keep exercising daily but focus on your diet.

Calculate all your shit using the OP and follow it to a T. Its alright to cheat too, so don't flagellate yourself. Just keep getting back on the horse. Its a long road ahead of you.

I think 2000 kcal a day would be good for you. Make sure not to go too low like that because it will make you fall to cravings sooner or later. Even if its difficult to get it all, try and get close to 2000. A little under is fine.

Also make sure you pick-up a lifting routine. Starting Strength or Stronglifts if you can get a gym membership or have that availability. It'll be novice gains and you'll struggle but it'll make the loose skin and issues like that a lot more manageable.

I did SL during my 120 lb cut and I'm looking juicy with only minimal loose skin.

6'2" started at 300, down to 185~ right now. Since switched to PPL, really worth it.

I want to try ketosis, although years ago, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for being a fatass when I was rushed to the emergency room- I had acidic ketoacidosis, and I almost died.

Maybe I haven't done enough research or I don't fully understand it, but I fear that undergoing ketosis may just end up putting myself back to the hospital.

Granted, high blood sugar isn't a problem for me anymore- ever since I began eating better and exercising, my blood sugar levels have been stabled all around the clock. Still, I don't know..

My advice would be to look up the mechanics of the kettlebell swing and the turkish get up, the basic programs I've seen recommended are built around those exercises, and other exercises, like the clean, press, windmill, snatch, all involve a lot of similar movements. So the major difference between ketoacidosis from diabetes and ketosis is the hyperglycemia involved in the diabetes. When you have diabetes the cell of your body can not absorb glucose causing your blood sugar levels to be very high. High glucose in the blood is dangerous because it pulls absorbs the fluids from surrounding tissue. Your body has the excrete the glucose causing frequent urination and dehydration. Your overworking kidney's are not able to compensate for the pH change in your blood and you fall into acidosis.

In ketosis you have functioning kidney's and any acid build up is easily removed. Keto diets help diabetics because it avoids the sugars that normally build up in their blood.

That all said, I do not like the keto diet. I can not make it work for me. If it works for you more power to you. If you are just starting out do not be afraid to try and see what works for you. All diets work, but they don't make everyone feel the same and I didn't like the feel of ketosis.

Tried to start IF again. Today was day 2, but also Monday at work. I got hungry and my entire mood took a massive nosedive so I went into the breakroom, bought a small bag of flaming hot Cheetos and peanut M&M's and ate them.

It's a meme by big food companies. In nature humans would have days where the foraging and hunting did not go well and some days where there was a plentiful amount of food. Humans evolved to have adaptive metabolisms. 1000 and 1500 is definitely not bad. 500 and 2000 is a little crazier but even that shouldn't fuck anything up.

My honest opinion is that if you're >20%bf then protein doesn't matter. Just get down to your low body fat level or wherever you want to be and then start a real clean bulk with high protein. You want a diet to adhere to not a diet where you'll fall off after two weeks. You won't lose as much muscle as you anticipate as long as you lift. Even if you do lose muscle you'll gain it back quickly at low bf%

It's a 30 minute to hour walk up a lot of hills and climbing down it to get down the fields. I also went walking a lot in the neighborhood since there was a lot of hills to run up and exercise. When I came back, I had fallen back to my old habits of eating fast food and stopped working out and gained my weight back slowly in two years. 4kg down. Not really noticed any change. Though I'm having to use a different notch on my belt and my pants are a little loose.

I don't count calories. I don't really exercise beyond walking down a path near my house and back until I'm sweaty. I don't diet or any sort. Because when I try to I screw up, and go crazy after with binging.

Really, I'm just trying to wean myself off of fast food. And even that's difficult, because I work at a place where there's these Chik-Fil-A sandwiches constantly available, and I have to get up at 4am to go so I always forget to pack a lunch. Or I forget to eat breakfast. And if I eat breakfast it's gotta be whataburger drive-thru or a bowl of cereal. When I have parents over, I can at least get eggs and sausage, but I don't have the time to get up and cook those in the middle of showering, shaving, getting my uniform ready, and getting to work. I never get enough sleep, and I'm always too hungry and too tired. So I'm just getting fatter and fatter because I eat terrible food, and wake up with not enough sleep leading me to eat worse food.

I can't even sort my own shit out enough to not need fast food to make it through the day.

It's processed beef strips. I prefer eating the bulk of my daily calories during breakfast so I have energy before lifting and going to work (that's why I had to eat rice) then by lunch break probably just one banana and a bowl of oats.

Is it okay to skip dinner multiple times though? I usually end up skipping it because I go to sleep immediately when I get home.

I don't know if it's healthy long term, as in if you get to maintaining, and have trouble eating dinner, you might undereat and lose weight, also the habit might be not beneficiary if or when you start lifting and bulking for muscle mass, and actually need to eat much more. My mother is really sick as a result of being obese, and it's like getting first hand graphic evidence of what happens if you don't look out after yourself.
