Depends. I actively run hot and wake up dehydrated at least twice a night. Even in winter. Something something core temperature something something. My doc explained it to me once. I drink 2-4L a night during sleep.

Don't look at the amount you've yet to lose, look at the week. 'I will lose Xlbs this week'. Weigh yourself weekly (I do it Monday mornings), and little by little you'll see the change. And sometime in the future, you'll look at the scale and realise just how far you've come. As you climb the mountain, don't look up and despair at how much farther you need to go, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Before you know it, you'll have made it, and you'll turn around, look back and say 'wow look what I just did'.

The size of your deficit depends mostly on how fat you are. As a general rule I wouldn't go below 1200-1500 calories total a day. the most important thing is how sustainable it is.

I need someone to totally rip me a new one with this.

So I've got some illnesses that are holding me back from losing weight... It's not making it impossible, but it is difficult. Pituitary, not this low metabolism shit. Anyway, I love to cook, but eating is secondary. I have no issue with cutting out calories. My problem is with exercising.

I was exercise-bulimic when I was 13 or 14. For the better part of my day I did hard-cardio. Seven hours minimum. Lost 30 lbs. in less than a month because I never ate my father's shit food, then I hit the plateau line. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep a night? Usually 2 or less, and I was perfectly functioning. Before bed and in the morning I did close to an hour of core exercises, sit ups, push ups, planks... The toning shit. I was obsessed with the number on the scale and weighed myself well over ten times a day. I just kept working out and never stopped until one day I collapsed. It was kind of warm that day, but not overly so, and my meniscus tendon was fucked up (tore it several years prior and it never healed right). All the students were running track except me and two other girls who were sick, and I was standing by the fence before I just fell down. I don't remember anything else that happened that day, although I'm alive and here so it probably wasn't too bad.

Part of me is a little worried that I'm going to fall back into the number obsession and hurt myself. I'm good with food, but I remember how much I pushed myself and how terrible I felt when I jumped on the scale for the 7th time in 24 hours and saw I gained 3 lbs. right after a meal and a lot of water... I know, right?

I can't seem to find the middle ground. I'm either maxed out or completely at zero. If someone could slap me and tell me in the meanest way to get my shit together, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm almost there brehs. Started at 110kg in October, now down to 79kg. Just 2 more kg and I'm set.

I started with 1300kcal per day, now I'm down to 700~900kcal per day. Two meals per day, one at 12pm and another at 5pm. First meal is rice, beans and meat (small portions), and second meal is 50g of oats and 300kcal of various fruits (usually 5 apples).
I do 1 hour of cardio per day, plus a few bodyweight exercises. Your muscle "gains" (if you can call it that) plateau very fast, because you're on a deficit.

The only downside is that some days I'm drowsy as fuck.

I had this when I was at 198 and then at 184. It was a faulty scale. I had to step on it three times for it to register the correct weight, and it was still off by half a pound.
IIRC, those bathroom scales that you see everywhere have a disclaimer telling you to weight yourself in before the visor reads "0.0". If you let it reach that, it will add the scale's own weight to the measurement. But not all of them work like that - on some it's the other way around.

Fucking scales. Also water retention. There was this night where I ate fried ribs (cheat meal), and pissed like a horse. Lost 1.5lbs from that.

If you guys want to lose serious weight quickly, and be super healthy (regular blood pressure, glucose level, etc.), you should do periodic fasting (i.e., every other day), and eat a 1,000 meal every other day (nonfasting days), nothing else.

Sample meal:

>3 cups of broccoli, red cabbage, tomatoes, onions, garlic, serrano pepper (in order of amount) all chopped up
>2 cups protein (chicken breast or some meat, no skin, fat trimmed), chopped
>1.5-2 cups of shredded cheese (whatever your favorite is)
>Cajun seasoning to taste (has salt, tastes good)

Cook the veggies and protein in a pan. Add cheese near finished to melt.

Easy mode. You'd have tons of free time. Or you can just eat a fast food meal every other day instead. The effect will be similar, but maybe less nourishing.

You can do whatever workout you'd like. You'd still lose massive weight and same benefits.

Like if you think "common sense" you'll see 200 grams of rice and think it's nothing to worry about and then you hook up MyFitnessPal and find out that little bit of rice is as many calories as all 4 of your chicken skewers.

Type II Diabetes already has a cure. It's called intermittent fasting.

Diabetes is not a blood sugar disease. High blood sugar is just a symptom of the disease that doctors have treated (wrongly) by prescribing synthetic insulin.

The actual problem of diabetes is insulin resistance, caused by too much glycogen being stored in your liver, causing your body to need to produce more insulin to handle all the refined shit you're shoveling down your gullet. As this cycle continues, you keep producing more insulin, and keep becoming more and more resistance to it.

This is why people who get full blown beetus always have to increase insulin, never go down. Unless....

They do something to address the problem, which is the glycogen stores. This is achieved by intermittent fasting. 1. We decided to trip for contest reasons. I only trip in this thread and only when it's necessary. This was a better alternative than a discord.

2. Just because one thing works for you doesn't mean that's how it is for everyone. My wife and I started to get fit and everyone saw our progress, so people in her family and mine started wanting to get fit. We have started a huge movement in both our families and we've added "friends" on MFP to help encourage other people. 8kgs in 3 months isn't terrible, especially since you're not mega fat. You could go faster, but if you're comfortable at this pace I wouldn't change much. Just keep being consistent about it, and lift if you aren't already.

There is nothing you can "take" to obliterate fat except to take in less calories than you burn. Intermittent fasting helps too.
