I've been doing IF for a while and like it, but I haven't found what he says about being able to eat more calories to be true. My TDEE seems to still be the same, it's just easier to meet my goals if I don't eat for half the day.

I need some help /fat/. I have 2 calorie tracking apps and they both say i need 3200 calories a day to lose weight. For the past month I've been eating 2000 a day while doing cardio every day and weight lifting 3x a week 5x5. Weight loss has stopped for the past 3 weeks and people are telling me it's because I'm in starvation mode so my body isn't losing weight while I ready on fit everyone says cals in vs cals out and you will lose weight. Is this just a meme? Do I need to eat a lot more to lose weight and hit that 3200 cal a day? Thx for reading this noob asses question.

I put my weight and picked the least active mode on both apps and both say to lose 2 lbs a week I have to eat 3200 calories. You are probably calculating calories wrong or you eat calories that you aren't tracking. Get a scale and weigh your food, a serving size is usually less than the whole bag.

Basically BMR is what your body uses in a coma. Calculate your TDEE and eat at a deficit but you shouldn't be going below BMR.

Also I keep getting a weird tightness below the right side of my collarbone when I increase the intensity on the treadmill (~160 BPM). I was freaking out and thought it was my heart but I remembered that it's on the other side. Any idea what's causing this? I think a two pounds a week is a pretty reasonable rate when you are heavy. You might be able to do a tad more, but when you are super fat you don't want to end up with lose skin or burn out. Remember this is a marathon, not a sprint.

I'd consider doing intermittent fasting. You can do keto, but it's harder to do (special diet versus just not eating). The not eating sounds harder than it is after you get used to it. I'd say doing 23:1 is ideal when you have a lot to lose.

To add onto this, losing weight quicker than that will result in loose skin. I mean, losing it slowly there's a risk, but if you drink enough water and build muscle as you lose fat, you shouldn't have much of a problem.

Plus it can be bad for your internal organs like your heart to lose too quickly. Look at the contestants of The Biggest Loser. Each "week "on the show was actually three weeks of working out and they still lost between 2 and 10 pounds, by over-working out.
Because of this, a lot of them gain back at least 10 pounds after leaving the show (Which the show warns them about).

It's not going to work losing it that quickly.

The less soda and shit you drink the easier it gets. Trust me. I used to "reward" myself with a diet soda (Cherry Pepsi or something) and I'd notice BAD cravings for more the next day. Not sure if it was the psychological aspect of rewarding myself or the soda itself but shit sucks either way.

Lost 22lbs over two months and then not a single pound for three weeks. Ive been improving on my lifts but I really doubt im gaining muscle as fast as Im losing bodyfat. = 12,89 for everything

I've stayed on track for a month and a half before and I can't remember why I declined. I've stopped cleaning around the house. I've stopped again, I've stopped everything again except going to work and dying.

I fucking hate this. I want to be alive again. I want to be moving forward again. Why the fuck do I always do this. Why the fuck do I feel content just wasting my life away not doing anything. Its not even about weight loss anymore its about not accomplishing goals and not making myself better. unless you are 5 feet tall there is no reason to eat 1000 calories a day. Find your TDEE and eat -500 of that and recalculate every 5-10 pounds. Don't try to cheat the system by rushing your weight loss. You have to come to terms with the fact that this is a very long process and if you rush it you will just gain it back from not learning good habits

Also your first month will be almost entirely water weight.

6'2" 255lb fatty guy here.

I don't like the gym that is near me because is fucking gross, I even tried going at 7am (when they open) and everything was soaking wet.

How do you guys compensate after you eat/drink too much?

I'm trying to cut 500, lifting 4-5 days a week. Last night I was hanging out with some friends and ate some pizza, drank some beers, easily went over my 2000 for the day.

Should I run AND lift? Eat less today? Eat less across the whole week?

I went from 230lbs to 200 over 2016. But, despite a consistent diet and exercise, I was losing like 5-10lbs one month, then stalling or gaining a couple for the next. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to work out what I'm doing wrong vs what works?

My calorie intake never changed, I rarely skipped exercise, I got into a consistent sleeping pattern over the year, I dropped all sugar and processed food over time... what more can I do?

I don't think it has anything to do with your heart rate. It's could just be a muscle tensing up. When I go hard at the gym, my jaw muscles get really tight to the point where it can be difficult to open my mouth. See if massaging the area helps. It could also have to do with the fact that running is more stressful on the body than the olyptical. I'd recommend limiting your running more, replacing it with another cardio exercise.

I kept at 1000 a day for a couple months and was losing a half pound a week. When I complained to /fit I was told not to go that low and to stay at like 1500, and it was less consistent but I did lose a little more, but still slow as shit.

Well, I haven't been asked out directly but I use online dating sites and have met a good guy on there. I just notice men looking at me more, before I hardly gotta glance. People also talk to you more and just in general pay more attention ti you. It's nice.
