feeling full is not in direct correlation with taking in calories
thus, by eating high volume low calorie food products like bean sprouts, carrots, brussel sprouts...
Point is: eat a lot of veggies/broth to feel full whilst maintaining nutritional intake.

Intermittent fasting. Basically, the longer you dont eat the less hungry you get. Its hardest during the first 24 hours but after that food wont be in your thoughts at all. Its the main way i did it. If you want to understand it properly watch this

i'm in a predicament. i've been lifting to gain a more aesthetic overall shape to my body, (came from pear shape and 170 to 145 and slight v shape) and i want to slim down and get something like evangelion proportions. only thing i don't want to get smaller is my shoulder muscles and my back a little because they are hard to develop again without bulking. any tips to keeping shoulder and back mass while losing everything else? pic not related

whew, just did my weekly weigh-in and I'm at 158 now. my journey started December 1st last year at 215. I've come a long, long way. My original goal was 150 but I think 130 will end up being thinspo perfection for my body's proportions, though we'll see. between these threads and fph on /fit/, I've had all the encouragement I need to keep it up. you can make it!
So I've recently had a period where I've went from 300+ lbs to 165, and I already feel alot better about myself. Thing is, I wanna shrink down to 140, but I keep fucking up. Earlier this week I was at 159lbs, but after a few days I shot up to 166. I draw up meal plans and everything, but I'm struggling anyway. Today I was on my way to eating under 500 calories, but then I sperged out and ate a bunch if halo top ice cream (280 calories a pint, I ate half), gummy worms (430 calories per pack), and a large chunk of salmon. This, along with what I ate beforehand puts me well into the 1000s!
How do I stop sabotaging myself when everything is going fine?
Just treat yourself more. I often throw junk food into MFP, if you never eat it you only want it more.
I'm on my feet a lot, and burn a lot of calories throughout the day. If today was kinda rough, and I have room for it, fuck yeah I'll grab milkshake or some poutine. Just don't make a habit of it and make sure you aren't going over your goals with it.
Obviously on fast days avoid that trash. Fast days all I do is take a multi, drink water, and sip on a mug of soylent throughout the day.
You're definitely right.. I used to have a lot more willpower, but now that I don't consider myself fat I find it hard to use my body as motivation like I used to. I mean I'm still not too happy with it, but it's nowhere near the driving force it used to be. Is there anything you use as personal motivation?
Hard to say, I'm 144 and 6'3 but I started from 200lbs not 300. Overeating wasn't really an issue for me.
I would say don't do shit like grab an entire bag of chips or a tub of ice cream and say "I will just have some of it"
I have a healthy diet and I run every day. I don't starve myself. I live alone and buy my own food, so I don't have the same problems you do with parents buying food. I used to have strong cravings for candy and junk food, but I would force myself to not buy it. After awhile the cravings went away.

I think the point of diet+exercise is to speed up your metabolic rate. Since you're constantly using energy to exercise your body will need something to burn, but rather than eating high fat foods, you eat lean and nutritous foods so you can burn the stored fat, but not exhaust yourself.
no. your body will require less calories to maintain your weight as you lose it, though the difference is insignificant.
exercise creates pretty specific results for your body, and neither of them have as much of an impact on weight loss as cutting calorie intake does. aerobic exercise strengthens your circulatory and respitory systems. anaerobic exercise builds muscle tissue. they have their benefits, but if you're simply trying to lose weight neither are really gonna do anything for you.

If you take some and dont feel anything - dont take more. Dosage is extremely important.
Take cold showers and drink ice water if you feel bad.

i put on 15-20 lbs over the past year and usually my efforts to lose weight semi quickly work but for some reason i can't lose weight no matter what i do
i usually work out consistently for a week with small meals (500 cal daily) and hydroxycut and when i weigh myself and see only a pound of progress that jumps back up the next day i give up and eat like shit for a couple days and then get back on it
my efforts are fruitless and i feel like absolute shit because i went from being underweight to healthy weight. last year when i tried to lose weight the same way i could shred 10lbs in only a couple weeks now for some reason it's at a fucking standstill and i don't know what to do at this point.
people keep commenting on the weight gain like "oh you look good now" and it makes me feel so bad. i can fit into my shirts just fine but i had to buy all new pants and i want more than anything to be able to fit into the size 00 pants perfectly again. right now i'm at like a size 2 i think ugh

You need a calorie diary. Be honest and write down everything you eat every day, even when you slip up.
I know it helps some people with weight loss and is supposed to be an appetite suppressant, but coffee always ends up making me hungry. The teeth staining isn't too great either.
Weight loss pills are always snake oil. You don't need pills to lose weight.
People bring up BMI all the time in these threads, but body frame and height are slightly more accurate metrics for determining your ideal body weight.

I'm a 5'11" guy with a small frame, so my ideal weight is 146-157lbs. I'm not thinspo, but I am pretty damn thin by normal American standards.
You can either go below the suggested ideal range in order to become thinspo, or you can work out while staying in the ideal weight range in order to become ottermode.
I'll also add that I found it easier to keep track of calorie intake using a handwritten journal instead of a website tracker. If you keep a physical diary, you don't have to depend on a single website to have accurate information on random foods.
Is it possible that my medication just fucked everything up? My eating patterns and all have been stable for over a year and now all of a sudden I gained several kilos, and the medication itself is not even making me feel better at this point.

Start lifting. Also muscle weighs more than fat. Numbers aren't important except BMI and your fat content.
Also, eat for energy, not weight-loss. And quit the hydroxycut, it's literally speed and is fucking you up.

Those of you who take vitamins, do you take it everyday for as long as you're on the "less than x amount of calories" diet? My doctor said I cannot (or should not) take pic related tablets for more than 3 months. Currently I'm eating around 800-1000 calories a day.

Whenever i'm fasting i have no problems, and if i switch to eating small/low cal breakfast, lunch dinner- i'm good too. But whenever i try skipping a meal i get these torturous headaches.

iktf. I went from 260 to 180 and I still have disgusting "love handles" that look like shit when I wear literally anything on my waist. Also losing 80lb made my gyno much more visible.

Does undereating make you lose less weight? I usually eat about 600 calories a day, sometimes up to 1000. I've lost very little and it's already been two weeks. Should I eat more? Exercise more? Stop worrying and be patient?

When i watch porn i always avoid the skinny girls and go for slightly thiccer ones.

I'm born kind of thin. I had special feet as an infant that were put into cast. My feet keep my calves skinny, which means I'd look absurd overweight. My arms are also unusually long (6' wingspan, but 5'8" tall). I don't go the gym. My work has a lot of physical components and I began cycling some commutes. I don't know my exact weight by I can tell you it's around 140-150
Just saying weight is not important. Diet is, followed by excerisize. Some people are bloated, some people are dense as fuck. My bones still tighten because my body can't get fat (I'm 29).
Oh and waist line. I wouldn't even want to look below size 30 because there's no selection in a lot of places, but I could wear a 28 in some cases. I've tried to upgrade to 32's but they fall to my feet, and my 30's need to be belted, always.
Cigarette smoking is one of the easiest habits to staying thin.

I don't even like to eat unless I'm in the mood for something in particular.
Also, beer drinking. As an alcoholic miller lite helped me count my calories for the day, because I wouldn't eat anything but beer.

Add some tomato, cucumber, shredded carrot and chopped onion . Make your own dressing (lite balsamic (less sodium) with virgin olive oil.
Suffice to say, you can't shock your body. Go nice and slow, life is for the long haul.
Sodium is not the best thing, but some freshly chopped chilis will put you in a whole other mood.
Sodium makes you bloat, makes you crave water, and can cause drastic inflammation.

On a serious note, I'm your weight and an inch shorter, and I have almost no bodyfat. You can cut your fat down if you want to, but you better make up for the lost weight with muscle. 135lb at 6'3" will have people thinking you're literally, diagnosably, anorexic. Which if you want to be that weight maybe you are.

why do you guys want this? I was 6'1 175 lbs but I broke my toe off and couldnt lift for over 2 months so far, and no im 160 lbs. I look significantly worse than I did before even though my bf% is lower - probably around 10% rn
How crazy? I used to get them all the time as well as in the hours leading up to my period (PMDD) until I started taking Wellbutrin. I still get them but they're very rare. I also had to stop drinking alcohol because it was mixing weird with my meds and giving me mood swings too.
Last time I had a bad one I completely embarrassed myself and had to spend a few hours in the ER. I also yelled at a poor resident, I feel so bad.

It's hard to keep wearing properly fitted bras when losing weight for obvious reasons, so maybe invest in a bralette instead.

It sounds like an exaggeration, but when you get that clinically underweight, there are unavoidable consequences. Happiness is a hormonal, bodily feeling. Mental alertness requires energy, and energy comes from calories (a calorie is literally a unit of energy). Confidence is another hormonal emotion, which stems from your minds assumption that it will live a long prosperous life, not something your brain assumes when it has starvation levels of bodyfat.
All for some convoluted idea of what you should look like that you got from spending an undoubtedly excessive amount of time on an image board primarily frequented by social outcasts.
How many hours does caffeine work as an appetite suppressant before you have to take another dose? I have a habit of taking a caffeine pill in the morning and then forgetting to take another once it wears off and eating later. :/
