Either your resolve is trash, or you're just trying to lose weight in order to fit in. Either way get a grip.

Tell her to use cocoa butter for stretch marks. When I had rapid weight gain I had awful stretch marks on my thighs. But when I lost the weight and continued applying cocoa butter, they practically vanished.

As for loose skin..that does suck :/ I think the only thing I can suggest is surgery. But if you really love her I'm sure you can look past that.

>parents should go to jail for making their children fat

well maybe the loose skin will go away because she wasnt obese, just ~50-60 lbs overweight

sounds weird but does the cocoa butter just work on white skin? she's pretty dark (afro american)
>>
>>12210083
>50-60 lbs overweight

yikes! Glad she's taking the initiative and trying to lose. Just keep cheering her on, she'll make it.

As for the cocoa butter..it worked perfect for me. I am a light skinned black girl, but my mother is dark skinned and it worked for her. No harm in giving it a try.

how do i politely decline the mountains of trash my family will be eating exclusively this superbowl sunday
>>
>>12210195
Say you're on a diet, say you already ate, simply hold up you hand and shake your head. Or just recognize that some days are for 'feasting' and have a nibble. It's not gonna hurt you.
>>
>>12210217
i do actually plan to have a wing or two. but like all they eat on suberbowl sunday is chili dip and chili dogs and chili fries. mostly chili-based things. and wings. thanks anon
>>
>>12210217
>>12210247
or recognise that the idea of having to eat because its some particular day is arbitrary as fuck, and nobody has to eat anything on any particular day if they don't want to.
>>
>>12210257
That was implied, anon.
>>
>>12210261
I got that, but felt it might also be useful to articulate the other side of the coin for the anon asking.
>>
>>12210195
Eat slowly so whenever people look they always see you having something.
>>
>>12210195
Okay here's what you do anon:

print off masks of your face. when your family are sleeping the morning of superbowl sunday, slip the masks over each of their faces without waking them up. put a mirror in the place you normally sit in your living room (or whatever room you're watching the game in). Then whenever your family look to where you normally are they'll see you eating and feel content.

Meanwhile hide in your room and shitpost on 4chan.

A lot of what people call loose skin is just leftover fat that's kinda spread out
So if she keeps loosing it'll probably go away

Though I know I'm lacking nutrition to some extent, I've hardly eaten in the past few weeks (due to reasons other than 'dieting') and what I have eaten is relatively lean and light (chicken, fruits, veggies, etc), and I'm still around the same weight, why would this be?
A lot of my weight is probably fat, but none of it has gone down though my calories have gone down a lot and my activity has gone up.

I know proper diet and exercise is a the way to slim down, and i'd like to slim down a bit, (i'm average, but have a decent figure when slim) and i know this isn't the way, i'm just more curious as to why it's like this.

I'm 5'10' and weight around 155lbs (177.8cm, 70kg), so not a lot of fat, but still.

this is my first time posting in a thinspo thread but i have been lurking since about june of 2016, which is when i began to focus on losing weight.
i was put on SSRIs at age 7, no physical issues; however, upon beginning a medication i'd never taken before, mirtazapine, at age 11 or so, i began to eat a lot more due to the fact that it affects dopamine production and dopamine reception. i'd been underweight my entire life, even when eating candy and junk food all the time. when i started mirtazapine, i remained underweight until 3 years into taking the medication. i was eating a ton. i'm 5'4, and i was eating at least 2,000 calories a day. the highest my weight ever got was 122. being underweight my entire life, this disturbed me greatly. i decided to completely change my diet.
i started eating healthier and focusing on attaining nutrients as opposed to eating 4 slices of leftover pizza for breakfast, three debbie cakes and half a bag of chips for lunch, 3 hot pockets for dinner, and 3 slices of cake for dessert. my previous eating habits were so bad. even outside the weight gain, it was bad. i've never been overweight, only average at maximum.
in may of 2016, i began to eat healthily with the occasional sweet. i lost 5lbs the first week of eating 1200 calories a day. i lost 20lbs in a month.
currently, i am 5'4 and my weight fluctuates from 100lbs to 105lbs. it's fluctuated between these two weights since about mid-july and i can't seem to lose much more weight because i think to myself "eh, a day of eating 1500 calories can't hurt."
my goal weight is 95 lbs.... my question is: how do i become motivated to lose more weight like i did at the beginning of my journey towards /thin/?
>>
>>12211343

also--
good to eat:
- oatmeal with cinnamon or cinnamon sugar + fresh blueberries added in. i like to mash the blueberries up and mix them around in the oatmeal until it turns purple, but it's also fun to eat it with whole blueberries. about 100 calories for a cup of oatmeal.
- smoothies! smoothie recipes are always versatile and there aren't any universal rules to follow, but here's what i often throw into a blender: 1 cup of crushed ice, 20 blueberries, 5 blackberries, sometimes half of a banana, a couple of spoonfuls of greek yogurt, a strawberry or two, and a cup or so of almond milk. ends up being about 150-180 calories, but clif bars (favorite: chocolate chip clif bars) are about 200 calories.
- protein bars. they usually range from 80-190 calories. cereal bars and fruit bars (think fig newton type stuff) can be good and satisfying to the sweet tooth but are high in calories and not very filling, often leaving you wanting to eat more. aim for protein bars with nuts like almonds. i like protein bars with chocolate in them or on the bottom. special k makes 150 calorie protein bars that have fruit and dark chocolate, very yummy and filling.
- dark chocolate! aim for 70%-80% cacao, or 90% if you like the bitterness. low-calorie, rich in antioxidants, fun to gnaw on. a piece the size of the index and middle fingers is about 150 calories, but it depends on the brand and percentage of cacao
- spinach! i like putting a cup of spinach on the side of my plate with almost everything, especially plain pasta or meat-substitutes. put salt and pepper on it, or eat it plain! extremely low in calories, extremely high in nutrients.
- fruit in general is great. i like eating an apple and maybe munching on a handful of dry cereal like cheerios. bananas are good and filling. costco has a huge box of small containers of grapefruit slices. they also have pre-packaged and portioned apple slices (~50 calories worth of apple slices in each package in the bag)
>>
>>12211262
They could be on a cutting diet, but I doubt it. How many people here actually exercise on top of watching their caloric intake?
>>
>>12211392
I really want to be one of those people that enjoys exercise, but I really don't get that rush that everyone else seems to get. I went to the gym for a few months and really put in the effort, but after each session I just felt miserable instead of proud and happy high. I lose anyway when I sit on my ass all day, so like, why put in the effort for the same results? Don't get me wrong though, I still move around but very simple things like climbing stairs instead of escalators, and at least 8,000-10,000 steps a day.
>>
>>12211363
oatmeal just like rice, bread or potatoe made me so fat while thinking I was eating ok and staying away from fats, sugars and alco. Doesn't work for everyone.
>>
>>12211411
I love to exercise however it does not help me to lose + my legs get muscular. What helps is eating very little. When doing this I could be sitting on my ass all day and still losing.

Starting a 500 calorie diet today. I'll be doing it for two months just to kick start my weight loss. Hoping to lose twenty pounds on this plan (alongside exercise four days a week). Then afterwards, once I reach my goal, lose ten more pounds a more healthy way (eating up to 1200 with exercise). I've made a list of safe foods I can consume on this diet but would like to know if there's any more. Also...how long should my eating window be? My schedule is pretty erratic cause of school, but I am willing to eat anywhere if I have to. Is eating once at 12 then again at 5 acceptable? Sorry for the bombardment of questions! I'm excited to start this and am always looking for tips :)

Oh and my stats: large frame. 5'2 136 lbs

That's probably not a very good idea, you should stick to a higher deficit. You'll lose weight more slowly, but at 500 calories a day you're probably going to binge, particularly if you aren't used to restricting.

I know it seems like it'll take too long if you go slowly but it'll take a lot longer if you restrict very low and then undo it with binging.

Thanks for the advice anon! I've actually stuck to a deficit this low for three weeks and lost ten pounds! I did end up eating my maintenance after a while and I hit the pleateau I'm at now :( I'm aware of the risks. I'm gonna incorporate two "cheat days" in my diet just to see if they would work out. On Friday I'll eat up to 900 and on Saturday I'll eat up to 1200 just for my own sanity. My goal is not only to lose, but to be disciplined enough to follow a diet for more than a few weeks. It might sound kinda stupid, but if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. And I'll try eating a higher deficit instead.
>>
>>12212151
Keeping up with school and exercising 4 times a week on a 500cal diet doesnt sound unrealistic to you?
If I was doing something like that, I would feel like shit all day. Maybe you should try IF and then eat around 800-900 instead.

>>
>>12212198
Perhaps you're right anon. When I ate 500, it was during break. And I shouldn't jeopardize my schoolwork. I'll eat around 600-700 during the school week and up my intake over the weekend.
>>
>>12212254
what the fuck
>>
>>12212299
I felt super fatigued and tired in school for the same reason. I wasnt dieting, but couldnt be bothered to pack lunch and food was expensive. It definitely impacted my performance negatively but I didnt care too much.

Maybe you could get away with just eating extra on exercise days. I run 6 miles 3-4 times a week and drinking a fruit smoothie an hour before each run makes it so much easier. Its a shitty feeling not being able to run because youre fatigued and not because your muscles are reaching their limits.

How do I know if I should be eating more food? Been eating 600 calories for a while and recently "binged" on some girl scout cookies that I bought for someone else that they refused and I'm not sure if it was just because they were there and I knew they would be until I ended up eating them anyway or I should be eating more food. Low carb/high fat. What are some signs that I should up my intake?
>>
>>12212173
Is bullshit. If you take two people eating the same calories and protein, the one eating more fat vs carb will lose the most weight and retain the most muscle. http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/83/6/1442.full

eh, i'm 5'3" and started at almost exactly that weight, and for me it was a lot easier to jump right in (though i was usually eating between 500-800). trying to cut just a few hundred calories a day just lead to bigger and bigger slip-ups. and even when i had to stop restricting heavily for a few days, 1200-1500 felt like a ton, and i at least didn't gain anything.

either way, i wish you luck anon, just keep at it!

Same situation kinda, always used to be underweight. Been on Mirtazapine for a year now, after a few months my weight started to creep up and I constantly wanting calories. After chrismas I was over 10st for the first time in my life and I realised something needed to change. Lost half a stone since then with just eating less, often only a reasonably large evening meal and nothing else through the day. My willpower is pretty shit though, I have to have very little food in the cupboard or I know I'll just binge in the evening.

>>

How obese?

You'll probably be fine, just don't do really low kcal diets most of us do here and take care of your skin

>>12212588
You need ass muscles, there's not much to it
Maybe try asking fit how to build ass without building thighs, there must be a way that engages them more than legs
But you shouldn't get much of an effect on either if you're still loosing weight and are already flat, you need to gain to get muscle

>>
>>12212585
Depends how old you are, if you're in your teens or twenties your body will probably recover fairly well, the older you get the more reluctant your skin will be to correct itself

Also plastic surgery isn't a bad option if you have too much excess skin

How obese are you? I'm currently 192, and my heaviest (recorded) weight was 230. I've only really noticed my tits being a bit saggy, and maybe a bit of my stomach, but it's not bad all things considering. The loose skin will eventually shrink, and a breast lift can fix my boobs, so I'm not too worried.
>>
I'm 5'5.5, 285ish pounds. Waist is 40 inches, hips are 53ish. I've got a slight muffin top but mostly carry my weight in my thighs. Area I'm most concerned about sagging skin would be my stomach and arms

Running or biking?
>>
>>12213560

>>
>>12213578
Depends which you do more of. Biking is way more efficient than running, so you would have to do a lot more of it (or more intensity) than running to burn the same amount of cals. That being said, I personally prefer biking, it's not quite as hard on the legs (unless your track racing or something).
>>
>>12213598
Yeah, running is dull. You can go farther on a bike and see cool stuff and go faster too. Not op but I live in a pretty hilly area so it's not too easy either. Shame the weather sucks currently.

Smart people and retarded people both understand CICO to mean "It doesn't matter what my calories are made off, just how much I get." Research has proven that to be wrong. Low carb/high fat leads to superior weight loss in both amount and composition.
>>
>>12214116
That is plausible. Our fatass might require as much oxygen to walk to the fridge as our marathoner requires to run at 14mph.

calories in = energy you get from food
calories out = energy expended through bodily functions including respiratory/cardiac/digestive/etc system use, muscle use, etc

this is the first law of thermodynamics

Hello everyone. I posted here a fortnight ago and one day before that, in my first post I said I was "biologically male" which caused a bit of a shit storm. Anyway I've decided to post here every fortnight (2 weeks) to provide motivation for me to continue in weight loss.

So far I've been making good progress, although there have been a few rough patches in the past few weeks for the most part I've managed to maintain a very low calorie diet and eat 1-2 small meals per day.

I'll post my most recent pictures first and then my older ones afterwards, the difference may not be immediately apparent but hopefully over time you guys will be able to see change. I have noticed that my chest appears noticeably smaller (might not be too obvious in the pictures) and I'm down to about 145 pounds from about 152.

congrats on your progress! i would say though that you're very soft, so a very low calorie diet is likely going to do your appearance more harm than good. imo you should look into gaining some muscle before cutting more and doing a more reasonable 500 calorie deficit when you do.
>>
>>12214782
Sure!

>1 tbsp coconut oil
>1 yellow onion, diced
>2 large cloves garlic, minced
>1 tbsp fresh ginger, peeled and minced
>1-2 tbsp curry powder
>1 1/2 tsp coriander
>1 tsp ground cumin
>6 cups veggie broth
>1 cup uncooked red lentils
>1 medium cauliflower, chopped into bite size florets
>1 medium sweet potato, peeled and diced
>2 large handfuls baby spinach
>salt & pepper to taste

1. In large saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and saute for 5-6 mins.

2. Add ginger and spices, saute for 2 more mins.

3. Add broth and lentils, bring to a low boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 mins.

4. Stir in cauliflower and potato. Cover and reduce heat to med-low. Simmer for 20-25 mins until cauliflower and potato are tender. Add salt, pepper, and more spices if preferred. Stir in spinach and cook until wilted.

5. Eat.

I'm 24, looked like this since around 19. I really can't nail down time/a regular enough schedule to have a gym routine. I also do not really feel hunger as strongly as other people and I can generally go almost all day without eating anything, but on bike tour mode i generally eat around 3500 cals a day (and still end up losing weight)

5'4, 82lbs?? haven't weighed in a while but i lose exceptionally slowly these days. thanks though! <3

>>12215141
nice to talk to you again too Easter! glad to half-clear your name, though i guess there's still the germanon disappearance to pin on you?
>>
>>12213790
You look like how I would, if I worked out. Nice boi
>>
>>12215226
Well the germanon disappearance WAS me. Anyone else who comes back is an imposture.

Will you be sticking around now?

Big news you missed: Froggo got banned (cited reason was "low quality posting"), and intermittent fasting is the main recommendation for weight loss now.
>>
>>12215226
is that even lower than before? what's your goal weight?

i remember froggo being reported a lot but i'm sad to hear he got banned. if anything his posts were the most quality.

how've you been?

>>12215247
just 2lbs lower. might be 3 now but i doubt much more. my goal is maybe 80 but i'm tempted to put a bit of muscle on bc i feel like crap a lot aha
>>
>>12215237
>will you be sticking around now?
i'll try to post more again but i can't promise anything.
>>
>>12215281
I've been well. Bit busy with work, bit overwhelmed. I haven't been able to shitpost as much but I lurk a lot.

School keeping you busy? Are you getting any hassles from family for continuing to lose weight? You have a bit of a shit family life in general though, right? Isn't mum a crack whore or something?
>>
>>12215281
what weight did you start to feel worse bellow/what did you feel the best at? why keep dropping if you are feeling worse?

that's fair. glad to see you're still around, at least. i'm sure the mods haven't missed you if even froggo can't post helpful reminders anymore.

definitely busy with studies! though it's online so it's not so bad. mum's not quite a crackwhore aha, just a lower-middle-class narc. she's not been too bad most days either though now.

>>12215306
best is probably around 90 but i don't like how i look then. i didn't feel that shit until recently though, it might just be the cold.
>why keep dropping if you are feeling worse?
that question could be asked to most people on this board tbqh fampai. i just made the same mistake most people here do in losing too much fat before gaining muscle.

You must be a sweaty guy

If I shower at 6 am, my private parts still smell good at 6 pm, and I'm not even sedentary.

Either get better body wash or stop getting hot so easily
>>
>>12215417
I do sweat very easily. It must be the little bit of white in me because it can't be the African in me. Honestly it doesn't matter whether I use body wash or soap. I've tried it all except maybe medicinal grade soap. And I have very sensitive skin so I have to be careful what I use.

how to maintain weight loss while binge drinking on weekends?

food i don't care about, but not being social is a bit different
>>
>>12215532
You can socialize without drinking, you know? Or do you carry a beer everywhere you go in case you socialize with someone?

Have recently started my journey into thinspo land. One week in on a ~1200 calorie intake daily. 5'8, don't have a scale in my apartment but I'd guess I'm around 170 pounds, so I definitely need to loose this weight. Just want to say that you are all amazing who stand this shit, I hope I'll be with you in a couple of months but this shit sucks right now.
>>
>>12215606
It's going to take longer than a couple of months. After you get used to restricting it becomes easy. Do intermittent fasting 24 hour (one meal per day) for making it super easy. Takes a few weeks to get used to but then you're not hungry all day and then at night eat like a normal person.
>>
>>12215611
One meal a day IF is so easy to conform to and flexible

Do recommend

I currently weight around 115 lbs (5'5). Started at 130.
I like how I look now, my upper body is quite thin while I still have some muscle and ass left. Even my face looks thin enough for me.
My goal weight is 110 lbs and I would like to get there but I'm worried if I lose any more it will just flatten my ass and make my cheeks look hollow.
I'm also worried that I might gain a little once I stop restricting. I've heard that's a common thing to happen.
TL;DR: Should I lose 5 more lbs just in case some weight comes back when I stop restricting?

Skinny people eat very little food. A lot of normies are not ready for that so when they lose weight they go back to normal or 3/4 of normal and start creeping back to a suitable maintainance for that amount of calories. It has nothing to do with restriction shock or bullshit like that. Take someone who's always been 110 and feed them whatever calories might have made you lose weight and they will gain it too if they have the same height and activity level (and carb/fat ratio)
