COSTUME ADVICE GENERAL /cag/
DO NOT MAKE A NEW THREAD FOR YOUR COSTUME ADVICE
Halloween season has come and so have the hourly threads of individual costume help threads from people not aware of how slow this board moves
JUST POST IT HERE NOT A NEW THREAD
This includes costume props etc
If this thread doesn't successfully contain a few new threads from starting I'll just give it up

bump
isn't /cgl/ a better place for this question?... that's kinda what the whole board is about. I'm pretty sure they have a thread dedicated to it.

but OP you just did >>1056963

my bad. though in my defense that thread and the other spooky thread out there right now are both based more on decoration than costume props
so im thinking about doing a space ghost for halloween
I was looking for something to make an astronaut helmet, specifically for the glass-online there are some security camera domes that would work, but shipping wont get them here till the 27th
any ideas for an acrylic/plexiglass dome?

i might order this and see if i can make it work

how well does hot glue adhere to fabric?
i watched a video of someone making a mask out of hot glue, cotton balls and liquid latex which seemed pretty doable. she used an elastic strap. but i wonder if i could do it directly onto a morphsuit mask. i may have to sew the layers of mask onto the fabric to make it secure
i'll post photos of progress if people care

acrylic turns really soft and malleable with just a little heat
go to harbor freight and get a cheapo heat gun and some black "acetal" sheet
should be nice and easy
>>1064883
not the best, there are fabric glues out there that would work amazingly
AVOID CYANOACRYLATE AKA SUPER GLUE
it can ignite if put on cotton
>>1064886
alright, i'll try a layer of fabric paint first

> implying there wasn't already a general Halloween thread
> implying you didn't further segment it while claiming to consolidate

Good intentions rarely work

Are you 10?
How do I make an awesome wizard hat that looks legit and not stuck together with hot glue?
>>1066204
Make a pattern you like out of paper, tape it together to make sure the size, fit, and shape's decent.
Head to a fabric store, get both a nice wizardy pattern and buckram- just enough buckram for your pattern and twice as much fabric.
Make your hat out of buckram and two hat patterned sleeves out of fabric, then fit fabric outside the buckram and inside, stitch into place.
