To make all the edges of say a hand or something look smoother you can do it really easily


(Using photoshop)

I really like this Ikaruga vid even though it's just a dance animation pulled from something else and slapped onto a rescaled model.

I guess it's the way the camera pans around and shakes with her steps when she's close to the ground to capture the sense of scale pretty well. It would be nice if it had some sound effects on top though.
