Fucking this. I think a sort reboot would work out. Make the game more colorful, have a more 'fun' vibe and atmosphere, switch up the gameplay a bit by making it tag-team based like the MvC series. I've been brainstorming what would be the best set up for "Injustice 3". I was thinking either it's FlashPoint, but then I've come with something:

After Superman & Batman defeat Brainiac stuff happens so they both rule 50% of the planet with different system and justice beliefs, people who support either Superman or Batman are free to choose where to live. Also both parts have pact of no agression and such more, but in reality they are trying to compete in order to give back the world it's status quo but it never happens. There is a Justice League, but they only act when there is a global scale danger. This leads to a set-up similar a la Red Son instead with Batman and Superman. Many, many years in the future, with an Old Bruce Wayne and with relative peace in the world, shit happens and part of the Legion of Superheroes travel from the future and act like a third faction trying to take over the world (this is a plan in order to unite the world once since the future was destroyed by the Anti-Monitor).I'd call it "Injustice Beyond" and Terry Mcginnis would be Batman.

Its probably a safe bet because WB doesnt want to spend a lot to market the Wonder Woman movie, so this might be it.
