The most recent thing I can think of that isn't in the canon is SWTOR, but otherwise we haven't really seen that many with in the canon yet.
And may I remind you the dark side in its current incarnation is like a drug, it feels great and gives you a boost in strength and vigor, but also makes you an aggressive irritable twat. Its a cyclical thing feeds itself within you.
Like with real negative emotions, except you get new powers and strength.

Let me explain how Darkside works in canon as of right now since you dont really get it which is understandable most people dont.

Imagine you're force sensitive you're attuned to the cosmic force which makes you inherently empathetic to the living force of people around you, all their emotions. Thats what the living force their *spiritual energy or soul* the larger than physical life component which in makes up the greater force in large quantities.

Now imagine you're a jedi and you block that shit out and filter it through to achieve a harmony moving through the current you've got zen meditation and can see beyond sight becasue of it.
Darksiders feed of the emotional spectrum, their own and everybody elses. Its like riding the dragon you're trying to harness the storm and the stronger it is the stronger you are all why trying to maintain a focus and singular will or you lose dominance of it.
Its like a fucking drug and its hard to center yourself again and put the filter up after using it cause that shit takes time and practice, darkside is funneling the negative emotional aspects and riding it out on a wave of hate surfboard. Of course its corrupting you how can it not? not in a physical sense but mentally it would be overwhelming and if you stop riding that wave you get hit by everything else like guilt love fear longing nostalgia all at once.
This is why going to war really fucks jedi up and acts as a paladin fall scenario, its hard to block out people getting fucked up all around you when you are literally connected to every living thing and how they feel.

A grey sith literally cant exist, not possible you have to be chugging your own hate and those around you, and that doesnt give you a great mental state, you're still in control just a lil *unhinged* at best. to be Sith darkside is THE ONLY WAY you cant just be at or using it half the time or when you *need* it, or else you'd just be a force user or fallen jedi, you get it?
