I'm thinking the reason he wants his finger is so he can regain his original body. I don't know how this fantasy lizard regeneration works, but since it looked he grew Ludo's body over his bones it seems like he would need his actual flesh and blood to regrow his "real" body.

I'm imagining him discarding Ludo's body like an empty husk once he has the finger back, probably chopping off the regenerated arm somehow so that he'll still have the wand crystal. That seems a little hardcore for this show but that they did have him lose an arm that one time.

Naysaya tells thr truth though. Which means either when Marco said he never held hands with a girl he meant in a romantic sense, or he doesn't even consider Star a girl but rather a bug or a bro. I really hope this show doesn't take a route where Star has to accept Marco being with somebody else and move on. Even if Star ultimately doesn't win the Marco she shouldn't go down without a fight. Bon Bon is the only episode that's actually been "devoted" to their relationship, because them going on a date is that episode's B plot.
Just Friends and Starcrushed are about Star dealing with their relationship. How Marco and Jackie's relationship actually functions isn't too important, beyond it being functional enough that they're going on dates (separating Marco from Star) and doing intimate couple things (that Star can be jealous of).
Star is the main character, even if Marco gets considerable focus as a deuteragonist. His relationship with Jackie isn't developed much because it's not as important to the story as how Star feels about their relationship.
It's not about shipping, it's about understanding why a story is put together and presented in this way.

Oh its all in good fun. The good thing about being a massively creative autist writer is that somewhere along you start realizing most creatives do this and don't share anything about it. It IS really, really cringy to anyone with a slight hint of self awareness. But that's only because it seems like really shitty wish fulfillment fantasy.
