guy with anxiety disorder here. Having an attack pretty much does go down like that.

But, if you were at work or so, you'd then try to break down your actions into tiny steps and go through them in a conscious manner. That way you can at least keep working while your mind freezes down. I guess Jess is not at that part yet.

For me it sometimes gets as bad as "put left foot forward, then the right foot, then the left foot again" etc., but then I'm an agoraphobic. Getting up at the morning is not a problem, getting out of the house is.
