You guys are great.
Bruce Wayne is Batman? GREAT SCOTT!!!!
Experienced computer trouble a week or so back tied to the graphics card/video drivers. He had a old graphics card that was "comparable" to the one I had and now I can't play any games past 2006 on this thing. Even source games give me sub 60fps.
Batman Telltale Episode 4 dropped today and I REALLY want to play it so I broke down and purchased the console version.
I said it before and I'll say it again. I love all the diversity in Gotham's underworld.
Also I'm starting episode 1 from scratch so what type of Batman should I be? Right now I'm aiming for snarky/cultured Bruce and a hard ass Batman that while doesn't murder, beats the shit out of criminals.

bumpo

Glad to have you aboard.
I"m glad Tynion decided to do something with Clayface. He's so much more intersting now than he's ever been.
HOly fucking shit!
We've officially moved into body horror territory.
While part of me thinks Maleev would go hand in hand with Batman, I'm not a fan of the next couple pages. Not bod, but not quite what I'm looking for.
Don't know why they decided to include the extra cover at the end of the issue but I"m not complaining.
Moved the cover to the frong.
Excellent page.
>>87872411
that's a pretty shitty looking monster
>>87872097
Red.
Always Red.
BATMAN BEYOND SUIT! FUCK YEAH!
>>87872637
Already went blue lol. SOrry
>That salute.
I'm dying.
This page makes me sad.
What a twist!!!
This is ridiculous and I love ever second of it.
Fuck...
>>87872899
This.
>>87872899
and after all this he still offered him a chance to redemption
>>87872866
If anyone can find that one Silver-Age comic with this same concept,, I'll be grateful forever. The one where Batman is wearing a rubber Bruce Wayne mask under his Batman mask that he takes out to convince everyone he's not Bruce Wayne.
We are now about to enter one of the high points of Snyder's Batman run. Zero Year is beautifully drawn and colored in combination of providing a unique spin on the Batman origin story that doesn't try to replace Year One and instead goes for something different. Starting with issue 0 and contiuing until issue 33.
I chuckled.
This leader of the Red Hood gang aint playin around.
Truly devious.
I love how this base of operations is the antithesis of the Batcave in aesthetic..
Jim is a cutie.
CLOSE!
I'm glad that Tim's intelligence was highlighted even before he became Robin.
Poor Jason.
Always the ladies man.
>>87874084
huh? would they all be the same age at the same time?
>>87873422
Agreed
Just outta curiosity, what's everyone's favorite Snyder arc? Top three are...
>Zero Year
>Endgame/Death of Family
>Superheavy/Bloom
I know these are pleb choices but I don't care. I would rate The Black Mirror highest but it's a set of Dick stories which I consider separate from Bruce.
>>87874160
Zero Year is my favorite, watching a young more unhinged Bruce mellowing down while becoming something better and gathering allies was great
>>87873585
>>87873612
>>87873657
>>87873710
I dig this version of Pre-Batman Bruce.
>>87874250
=D
I am in love with these gang designs.
In four pages Snyder has me absolutely pumped for Zero Year.
I love that before Bruce donned the cowl he was already giving villains enough shit to become recognized.
>They're underfed.
Heh.
I think the censored bar works better than actually showing it. Shame we can't even show this physical gesture in print form.
I would argue that Zero Year has some of the best art ever put to page in comic. I know that it's a bold statement but Capullo manages to establish "Old Gotham" before the arrival of all the supercrooks and the mayhem that follows. This city feels like a Gotham of a byegone era and it will never return to that glory ever again. Gotham is cursed..
>>87874853
it was all so bright an colorful
Sexy upside Bruce.
>>87874893
I know. Also the architecture looks more sleek and modern. Very "clean".
Snazzy hat.
I haven't seen a gargoyle yet.
Very cool.
Very Mission Impossible, Bruce. I wonder if this was a strategy he was going to implement for the long haul or if this was a strategy he was only using until he found his niche.
I'm already fascinated by this Riddler.
I enjoy these little vignettes at the end of the main story.
>>87875283
>Bruce Wayne's name in the Bat logo.
>>87875870
I like it.
>>87875938
I do too. I was just pointing it out, because I missed it at first glance.
Fucking brilliant.
Does Batman always have these shoes?
I liked how they brought back the fact that Bruce is good at using disguises
>Not for the faint of heart.Alfred, you're a cunt.
Way to subvert expectations Snyder.
I'm watching the Spirit again and I'm in love with this movie.
I don't know what Snyder was trying to achieve with this page.
Oh no
I know this test is sadistic but it serves its purpose very well. Learn or die.
>>87874108
kind of
Love the nine panel grid.
Very interesting how Bruce and the Red Hood gang leader both were severely affected by the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne.
Nygma you scary.
Wondering when that ball was going to come back into play.
While this is a cool sequence, I found the Bat crashing through the window in Year One to be so much more powerful that this scene. Interestingly, Snyder doesn't suggest the bat crashing through the window didn't occur (Court/City of Owls Issue), it just wasn't the focus.
Great ending.
>>87877173
thats really cool.
It almost seems like Snyder has a fascination with shaved heads.
Amazing page.
Amazing throwback.
Another amazing throwback.
This is a truly horrifying way to die.
>>87877678
>Welcome to Bat country.
>>87877695
Previously I was reading Snyder's Batman in Bale's Bruce voice, but now it's officially Conroy.
>>87877889
Currently I'm reading his as Roger Craig Smith (Arkham Origins) and then in later titles (Morrison) I read him as Conroy.
=D
I enjoy that for many of the panels featuring Batman, you can see his outline rather than any of the detail inside creating the illusion of a black amorphous creature terrorizing individuals.
>>87878001
Okay, yeah, that's pretty cool. Style points.
>>87875245
Holy Shit those Superheavy Post it Notes man they dropped hints over a year before it happened
>>87875938
I wonder what happened to the Two-Face story.
One of the original solicits for Zero Year had a Two Face arc in it.
>>87876169
I like how Ozzy shows up in Every arc of Snyder's run he's a weirdly permanent fixture throughout it all
Goodbye uncle Phillip.
And thus Joker is born.
>>87873145
Fuck why'd you have to go superbro
New player stepping up to the plate.
And thus concludes the fifth Snyder thread. I hope everyone has enjoyed. I'll see you guys tomorrow!!!!
>>87878296
Nostalgiafags man
>>87878373
thank you!!
Secret City>Savage City>Dark City
>>87875108
Fun Fact: Bruce has had an "Uncle Philip" since the Silver Age, he first showed up in 1969 in Batman 208. But that was Philip Wayne, Thomas's brother. Snyder changed him into Philip Kane, Martha's brother and reintroduced him here in Zero Year.
>>87875332
>This philosophy is why the Batmobile exists.
Genius.
>>87876371
I think it's supposed to be an illustration of how Nigma's mind works. The conversation was based on the Egyptian board game he mentioned. Nigma's the only one who knows the rules, but when they get to the end, the game (and the conversation) ends.
And yes I know I'm responding to a 3 hour old post but I just got off work and am reading this now.
thank you OP even though i've read all this before, revisiting it all is a treat
