In one page Miller created a story that needs to be told. How/why did Dick transition to this? How did he get his powers? Why did he settle upon the Joker persona? WHAT IS GOING ON!

Alright guys, we only have one more Dark Knight series left to storytime. Interestingly, I find this third volume of the Dark Knight saga to be significanty stronger than the previous volume. Part of that is partially due to the more coherent art as well as more tight story.

This page makes me wish Kubert went back and reinterpreted all of DK2. I'm not saying I don't appreciate Miller's work (DK1 art was breathtaking and DK2 art was visually stunning), but Kubert could breathe new life into that storoy.

Also, does anyone else strongly prefer Carrie as Batman as opposed to all her other alter egos? I feel like her being Batman is the logical endpoint for her character arc. She started off as a Robin, she came into her own with Catgirl, and then she moves on to wear the mantle of the Bat. Doesn't even matter that she's female, she's Batman.
