The entire world just watched a whole army of Atleasian droids go full killbot on Beacon and Vale. It's a fair bet that other countries are anxious with the idea of accepting any product that's military related from them. Ironwood is aware of this sensitivity and is not keen on making Atlas seem any worse than it already does just because its private sector is throwing a hissy fit.

I'm looking forward to hearing about people from the Mistral black market smuggling dust in/out. But then again, that would be something that's interesting. So it's not like that'll happen.

Reading the last thread, it's weird because people who don't like Jaune as a character often claim he's THE main character and has the most important scenes due to his storyline of growth when the other characters all have their own storylines (that are equally as important and most likely more) happening at the same time

His storyline is just one out of many which they're trying to interweave alongside team RWBY's + RWBYverse. The same went for Pyrrha and now it looks like Ren/Nora are getting in on the action too. Makes sense with JNPR being the secondary team. All while Salem, Ozpin, Qrow etc are doing their storylines too

I think it's because people are so used to stories having a character like him as THE MC that they think he's the MC here too when it's an ensemble cast (Ruby being the special character which the main plot will ultimately revolve around in the end). Or maybe people think audience surrogate is automatically main character

I didn't think Jaune's scenes were any more important than Ren and Nora's foreshadowing scenes or Weiss' scenes setting up her family issues. They were all scenes of characters in one big story playing out.

If I had to say, the "more important" scene we recently got was Salem's who seems to be the main plot + whatever scene the bad guys get with regards to Ruby/maidens/Ozpin. Really though, it's all concurrent storylines playing out. Getting too concerned on which scenes are more important or not seems contrary to building an organic fictional world.

Which is one thing that bothers me about most fictional stories coming from japan like light novels The world and every character of their story is usually centered on one person, the MC who is the most important at all time so their world feels so fake because of it

Whether Jaune will become the super special MC that the world revolves around in the future, I don't know. But for now, he's not. He's just the audience surrogate going through his own character story.

Which is weird when it makes so many people think Jaune's the MC. The OP starts with us following the red mark and seeing Ruby first joining up for the journey. Then all the other WBY members get focus scenes of their own issues like Weiss' family, Blake's family, Yang's arm.

Look I get it, you're a Jaunefag, and you love posting on Reddit about how he's your favorite character because "he goes after what he wants XD", but he's going to die, and considering how they're setting it up, it's going to be this volume.

JNPR is all going to die, I was afraid Nora and Ren would die first but now that I see they're giving Jaune more time... it's going to be him.

Next Volume we'll get more in depth with Nora and Ren and their past will be more exposed (note that like one of Pyrrha's flags was that we pretty much knew her backstory and all that.. well we know about Jaune's past too. Where his sword came from, his 7 sisters, now this village they used to visit a lot, etc).. then they'll die. Likely they'll have Ren come out as gay (being the reason he and Nora aren't "together together"), breaking Nora's heart and setting up the downward spiral for those characters.

Can you imagine if they killed off Ren now? Nobody would really care because we've not even really scratched the surface of his character. There's less sympathy for him. Nora would still get some reaction because she's cute. But we're still less sympathetic to her (or designed to be less sympathetic to her) than Jaune.

Imo the fall of Beacon, and on a smaller scale, Vale was as bad as the Earth Kingdom falling.

Problem with your statement is that it isn't going to be in this volume. Probably the next if they're going to go through with it.

It's unlikely because they're developing Jaune like they're developing RWBY. We're probably going to see a lot less of Jaune as his "I'm just so fucking sad yo" subplot is put on backburner and we instead learn about WBY and Ren and Nora.

But eventually his subplot will take center stage again. It could lead us anywhere: from the typical paladin "I'll do it for her" spew or the "Time to say goodbye" acceptance or maybe a darker route where he becomes more jaded like Qrow.

It's at that time when we'll see if they're going to axe him or not.

Well Qrow hasn't directly taken the mentor role yet. He's watching and observing. Sure, he taught Ruby at Signal, but we haven't seen him teaching in the show yet. We've seen him comfort his nieces, drink, trick Ruby into losing to him in vidya, drink, pick a fight with Winter, drink, and talk to Ozpin about Ozluminati stuff.
