However, no mortal thaumaturgy can bend those rules for long so the world will reassert itself and crush a reality marble after a period of time.

Marble phantasms are similar but they would be like ensuring you only pull black marbles out of a bag filled with white marbles. So far the only one we've seen is Crimson Moon and Arcueid's Millennium Castle Brunestud, which also might be the Witch Swift Umbrella from Angel Notes.

You're confusing a simplified explanation of what one does VS. a Marble Phantasm with what they actually are.

A reality marble turns the world around or within the user into what they project, which is usually reflected of their internal self. You can think of it like "Turning the marbles black", but that's a byproduct of "Projecting a reality where all marbles are black."

So, having just watched the episode...

I really like the character of Weiss' dad. He's a completely manipulative asshole, but he actually seems rather competently written. Expressing in-universe the doubts as to Ironwood's very flawed logic regarding the Dust Embargo that I've heard many in this thread echo, and coming up with his own rather well-reasoned plan to keep up good relations.

Elsewhere, that look that Ren and Nora shared seemed a tad meaningful. Were they parents killed by the hoofed-Grimm? Or maybe the orphanage where they grew up? Is this gonna be their subplot?

Lastly...a lot of the content in the post-workout motivational segment of that training video that Pyrrha composed for Jaune seemed a tad contrived in how poignant it was. And by a tad, I mean holy fucking shit what are the odds?
