I'll admit it was fun, but yeah, it's a very dumb movie. It seems like sometimes it has moments where it's aware of how stupid it is and it just wants to have fun, but then it can't decide if it wants to get serious or just stay in dumb popcorn movie mode.

Henry Wu apparently became an asshole for no reason and the movie's entire plot relies on him being asked to make a cooler dinosaur to drum up sales, and instead intentionally makes a murdermachine that that the park staff had no way of dealing with (up to and including making it literally bulletproof), for absolutely no reason.
