Posting my crappy thumbnails for my latest concept about a prince who can control animals with his mind and goes on adventures.

I used to do only scripts (both full-sripts and plot-scripts) for my comics but I decided to do thumbnails for the first four chapters of this project (about 70 pages) just as a visual reminder to keep the idea fresh.
Sometimes I'm baffled that I've been doing comics for years always in search for an artist to collaborate with

Awesome! You need to do a fully-fledged chapter if you're not allready working on one.

If you're doing a webcomic that thic demon girl mc will get you a lot of views, trust me.

Oh, you should read Jigokuren (love in the hell) as research if you haven't allready. It's not for everyone but personally I like to read some classics depending on the niche / genre I'm currently writing in.

Cool! I really liked that movie, and took a bit of inspiration from its setting.

>Looking forward to see more lizards and other more ragged characters (if that's where you're going anyway)

Yes, this next chapter will be a bit more focused on Maude (the possum). Her dress is ragged because it actually gets torn up a bit in the comic during a chase scene

Here's the full cover, (sized down and cropped).
I took out the mine cart in the back because I felt there was too much going on up in the top area, and I was gonna add the title up there anyway, so there's no real point. What do you guys think?

I'm aware you can see a bit of the pencils lines still in some areas, so I'll do a thorough cleanup before I slap on some colors.

Hello anons.

/tg/ visiting here and seeking guidance.

I have a story, characters, and a small audience for a prospective web comic. I also have the better part of dozen stories written.

I am interested in talking to anyone with knowledge of the web comic world on feasibility for this project and especially artists, seeing as I can't draw.

1. I'm interested to talking to people who have experience in webcomic publishing and in particular startup. Know of anyone?

2. If anyone wants to read the link I'm interested in hearing about viability.

3. I'd be very interested in hearing about art styles you might recommend and in particular who might be good to talk to about this sort of thing.

4. I might be interested in hearing from artists generally if there's interest.

I have absolutely no idea what I am doing so any pointers are enormously appreciated, all I know is I have a story I want to share.

Thank you both for the complements, they mean a lot to me! I find one of the things that drives me to complete a chapter is getting to make the chapter covers! I like to read up about a lot of occult and different religions in my spare time and work in into my art. I was hoping for it not to come off too 'edgy' in a sense, so I'm glad you like it!

That's really cool working stuff like that into your art. I didn't find it edgy at all just neat and pretty damn adorable.

>profits
I don't think you'll make any. Many webcomics just don't make profit at all or struggle to make one, and while you got a setting, it's as niche as it gets. I'm not an expert, but I assume you could turn it into a webcomic, seeing you got the world and characters AND stories figured out (though you're link is impressive but lack details all around). Just don't expect to collect money from it. As for anything art, I'm kinda in the same position as you so I cant really help.
>>
>>84133344
Suspensful. The art isnt as bad as you say it is. You are clearly interpreting ideas and action, along with some interesting panel shots. Keep it up!
>>
>>84133344
I see for most of your action panels they are just white, have you ever thought about using a solid color thats exciting or fitting the mood? I think white is acceptable in certain situations but if over used it may make it look 'unfinished' if you catch my drift.

>>84133074

Went out and got myself a scanner; the Visioneer Roadwarrior, for $30. It scans in poor quality, but it's really easy to use, and it's fast. I think as long as I clean and ink it before scanning it should be okay. Before I was just taking pictures with my phone, and it was kind of a hassle.
Overall, I don't recommend it if your comic is big on small details.

Also just gonna casually dump some character designs (top).
>>
>>84132309
Not gonna lie, when I see to be continued in anything comic, art, cartoon and etc.
That song from Jojo: Roundabout plays in my head.
Also do you guys try mixing stuff up in your comics like instead of... to be continued why not "in the next chapter" or "see ya later kid".
Also the empty space in back really doesn't set the mood for reaching out for something, I usually use the background as extra leverage to convey an feeling like an empty, dark room for loneliness or if you want helpless to reach out feeling put em in a long narrow hallway...
Just my opinion

the girls are cute, the dude seems to have subtle proportion issues, and the close-up head... i feel like the far cheek should be reduced more because of the head being turned, or else the facial features being moved further over. like, they're centered despite the head being turned, yknow?
>>
>>84134538
Thanks for the reply! Your attached pic makes for great inspo too.

>>84134578
Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep it note for my future drawings. I start with the eyes and then draw in the jaw/face shape, do you think I should change the order?
>>
>>84134799
professionals would say always get the basic head structure in first, and let it dictate the placement of the features, but I say as long as you keep everything consistent it doesn't matter. It's all a matter of which one you're more reluctant to erase and redo to match the other.. and in that regard i'm with you, keep the eyes i worked so hard on, redo the jaw and cheek.
>>
Hey talked in thread yesterday about development for my webcomic
I've resolved to have the guns and melee weapons be infused with magic or technology to face the people with powers but now I'm trying to figure out how the powers should actually work as well as how to balance them with the exception of certain characters
The webcomic takes place in an alternate universe starting on a world in a country following a group that could be either mercenaries or some sort of guild
>>
>>84135212
not to be a dick but this is even more apparent now than it was then: what the heck are you concerning yourself with? did someone give you an assignment or a challenge something, where you have to make a comic under the vague constraints of 'must have ballistic weapons, melee weapons, and magic powers' ? because for some reason those seem to be your concern, and figuring out how they'll work together, and it sounds as if you have nothing else. no idea of what they would be, or any indication of why you want those in your comic.. and that is literally all there is to your comic at the moment. a need to include three elements of combat.
you're like, putting the cart ahead of the horse when you don't even own a horse or a cart yet but are instead asking yourself what kind of reins you'll use
>>
>>84135212
Well you should figure out what the story is that you want to tell, and then think about how the magic weapons will help you tell your story. If the magic weapons aren't involved in the story, then they're not important and you can ignore them.

You're not designing a video game, you're telling a story.
>>
>>84135829
yeah I mean I've been known to construct stories around cool shit I want to see, but I at least work out the story.. who's using this shit to fight what, for what reason. Then the action scenes can be the backdrop and you can work in the progression of whatever. like Uncharted and shit.

Here's another pic of Giri. Not really trying to make sense of her poses. Though I'm not happy how the legs turned out.

Still, can't wait till I get that light table, gonna wait till next paycheck.

Alright actual advice
Ok well the story is about this group who each have history with the main character forming this team that will expand as the series progresses but basically they just fight criminals and evil organizations building up more into facing enemies that want them dead as the main villain directly caused this event that was meant to kill the main character for this reason that would be explained later but the main character as well as certain others have specific powers varying in ability
I would show my original webcomics that this started with but they suck I showed them here before and everything said about how shit they were was true I still need to develop this more get some people to work with as well as get better at drawing to see how an update schedule could work also I did these webcomics on tumblr because it seemed people would look at them there but it's fucking tumblr so that was another main reason for needing to develop this series but I do post weekly sketches to my art blog still on tumblr until I figure out better constructive and time efficient ways to draw for the internet

it's 4chin. it strips away part of the data in your jpg (not the image part, but the orientation part) because people were known to hide contraband in that data.
i remember i used to take pictures of drawings with my digital camera and it would embed shit in that file, and even later when i computercolored the fuck out of it, it would still have that data. then it'd show up on deviantart and everyone would be like 'whaaat why does it say camera information on this 2d digital drawing'

Well I like the idea of world building the variety of powers an actual way for the powers to be fair by having their own abilities but a system where like it drains their power or stamina or some shit but also having unexpected moments as well as deaths centering on this one group but also building up the story so parts that happen later get the reader excited to read them when the story gets there also building on lore over time and getting to know each character and how they interact with each situation as well as each other

I love the expressions with the art style and the talking to the worms bit was pretty funny

I guess the only gripe I have is that pacing could have been a little better in chapter 1. It felt kinda rushed at some points, the scenes involving meeting Jacob's family and Jacob talking about Egon the wizard especially.

And I guess this is more personal preference than anything but I kinda hate the font you choose for word bubbles.

Thumbnails for pages 9 to 16. If I keep doing 8 a day I'll have the first 3-4 chapters by the end of next week.

What do you think about the concept, would you read this comic if it had actual art?
I have planned it out like this:
Chapters 1-2: introducing the prince and his powers while doing worldbuilding but leaving things intentionally ambigous and confusing (might turn off readers but fuck it)
Chapters 3-6: flashback of the prince as a kid, explaining how his powers came to be and adding some information on what this world looks like
Chapters 6-10: end of flashback, intoduce a bunch of characters related to the prince and transition the story into a longer arc.

I have a lot of set-pieces and storylines in my head I might add at some point but that's long from now.

>>
>>84137037

>>
>>84142243
To add, Loomis was proficient in sveral different media and styles. Compare his stuff in "Fun With a Pencil" and "Creative Illustration", or his commercial pieces - some of it is indistinguishable from modern day digital artists like Craig Mullins.
>>
>>84138478
Thank for for the criticism! Honestly I hate the font too… I have shitty hand writing and in no way in hell could write the text down. I tried other fonts but nothing worked out well. Maybe I will go font hunting today.

And as for pacing, yeah I know its pretty rushed. Thats something i struggle with when I make my storyboards. I have chapter 3 and 4 storyboarded now and Its been getting a bit better every time.
>>
>>84142391
Yes, Loomis ranges from cartoony to almost photorealistic. If there's a common thread through his styles, it's the women and men have fashions hairstyles etc from the early 60s. Given he found work as an advertising illustrator, and was training people to work in advertising illustration, that's perfectly legit.

Now Bones on the other hand can't draw simple lines, anatomy, perspective or proportions, and can't even recognize when it's wrong. It's like his faces are traced off of bad anime from dA, with a little bit of Sloth from Goonies thrown in.

Ah okay. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm thinking of penciling a bunch of pages beforehand while I work on a side project for premier pulp since that short is only going to be about 10 pages long, and my comic is starting to shape up to be at least 30+.

some of the spider legs are missing in the below panel but they DO fold in and hide (that's how jyourougumo roll) so that's not automatically a mistake. also yay clothing damage!
I wouldn't toss any of this out, the only thing is maybe arachne's head in the first panel seems a bit unengaged. you could give her a more sinister or excited expression and maybe even move the head down a bit, and/or do something different with her arm, without having to redraw the whole thing.

Shortcuts? No.
Tips? Draw. No seriously, draw. Research on what it is you're drawing. Use references if needed. Pick up a book on drawing, or study everything under the sun that is related to comics, art, and storytelling. I wish someone had told me this when i was younger, but i'm barely getting into the mindset of a professional, even though I'm not. Try and pick up habits that will benefit you and your comic. But above all, have fun with it. Because even though some people may not enjoy your work, at least you will.

I have an idea for a project. Essentially, it would be the story of an intelligent alien species visiting earth for the first time. The twist is that the entire story is presented in the form of fake screenshots from websites such as cnn.com, reddit, 4chan, something awful, etc. all the "photographs" from articles and posts would be drawn.

Is this a good idea? Does it even count as a webcomic?
>>
Anon, when you become a big webcomic star, promise me this one thing: Please remember the good times we all shared here in /hyw/. I know it there is a lot of shitposting and narcissistic tripfags in here, but down the road it all had it's charm don't you think? I know you will be busy with all your success, and that dream project wont make itself- But please remember! Please don't forget all the fun we had.

P-please dont forget me...

Ah, I went and said something selfish didn't I...
>>
>>84154586
It would qualify, I think. Difficult to string something along, though. I'd say it'd help to have the first/a recurring screenshot be of a blog of some kind to give background/exposition to things to further the plot. Have all the news sites filter it through their propagandas and biases with the recurring one be a closer-to-reality version that also lambastes the biased news media versions of events.
>>
>>84154586
just my suggestion: what would take this from a 5 to a 10 is if we got recurring snippets of a blog and one of them turns out to be made by one of the aliens, and then the realistic reaction to finding that out, by the others on the site

>>84154733
These are both pretty good ideas, although the latter twist would have to take place a decent clip into the story, seeing as I want to establish a semi-realistic picture of both sides attempting to communicate at first.

I'm also having trouble deciding whether the aliens should be more or less relatable from both a physical appearance or behavioral standpoint. Strictly ALIEN aliens are more fun to play with as a writer, but more human-like aliens would better lead into the suggested notion of one of them having a blog, as well as a plot twist that occurs later in the story. The aliens emerged from a wormhole. Everyone assumes the aliens created it themselves; however, once communication is firmly established, they reveal that they have no idea who created it. It just appeared one day outside their homeworkers, they followed it, and it lead to earth. Someone, or something else was responsible.

One more thing I'm struggling with is when to set the comic. It obviously has to be within the timeframe wherein all of the websites I mentioned are relevant, but I feel like involving topical politics could get really messy. (Though, to be honest, it's interesting to imagine how Donald trump and his supporters would react to first contact)

I think that on some level, they all recognize themselves in each other, and hate to see the ugliness in the mirror. Their egos still haven't matured to where they can dissociate from it and evaluate themselves from another party's perspective to see that fundamentally they're all similarly flawed. So they end up hating each other when really, they're hating themselves.
>>
>>84155154
that's because your lines are absolutely tiny. you also seem to be resizing in a rather sharp way
>>
>>84155154
What dpi are you working in?
>inb4 another dpi argument

Here's the best basic settings you can do. The size of your canvas is unimportant. And by unimportant, i mean it can vary in size. My personal preference is the typical comic standard 11X17 inches with a 10X15 work area. I scan it in 300 dpi.

If you are working digitally, the same rules for dpi apply. Lots of pros work at 300-600 dpi.

As other anons said before, its best to work big, then scale down small when posting. 72 dpi is okay when you post. It's not the best, but it works.
>>
>>84155155
yeah that's difficult. do you make a fun creature or do you make something believably alien

i say split the difference: it has recognizable vision organs, recognizable food intake, the shit you'd expect to be universal.. it has jointed limbs for some form of locomotion.. it has a compartment for storing your food intake, a compartment for your major energetic organs, processing whatever you use for oxygen, blood, whatever you use to move them around... that compartment may or may not be the same one as the other one..

but the arrangement of them can be inhumanly disturbing. a mouth above the eyes, or set at a totally different spot on the body instead of right near it. or some kind of radial symmetry

If these aliens have any society similar to us, you could make it that the ambassador alien was a curious, courageous scientist while the rest of the crew that went with him were essentially fodder, the dregs of their society that were forcibly volunteered. Then if the dregs get uppity, it could create huge problems with Earth communications.
>but I feel like involving topical politics could get really messy
Don't do it then. Just don't draw attention to it. If anyone asks, say it's irrelevant to the story/would detract from the intent. Personally, I'd lean towards a much more comedic air with it, but if you're going for solid realism then that's all the better for establishing the tone. Comedy needs only be situational, involving different sites' protocols and culture.

>you have to click the comic to get it in a readable size
No, bad.

>Characters are basically only ever shown from one angle
Kinda boring

>colors are garish
I don't mean that you can't have your characters dress in bright colors, but when the background is searing yellow and everyone's wearing all bright colors, your eyes get tired pretty quick. Try using some darker and less saturated colors.

Your speech balloons are often strangely positioned, so that the reader isn't quite sure what order they should be read in.

Panels get a little too wordy sometimes, and the speech balloons are frequently overcrowded. Words need room to breathe!

The dialogue isn't very good. You frequently mix up "its" and "it's", you use way too many ellipses, and your sentences run on too much.

Overall, it's not terrible and it's got some funny ideas, but the weak execution gets int the way too often for me to like it.

Yeah sorry to say but it didn't really catch my attention. At all.

I'm not sure if Blogspot is a great place to host webcomics in the first place, but the clicking to expand thing? Not really helping your comic to draw in readers. You're probably just better off making your own or hosting it on Comicfury or Smackjeeves.

Using Comic Sans as a font is also a huge turn-off -- The hatred for it on the web may have been exaggerated at times but regardless it's an AWFUL font and along with your website layout you're not really doing too much to sell your comic.

I hate to say it but for a "comedy" webcomic, a lot of the jokes fall really flat. The setup of a vampiric arm is outlandish enough to work but it falls flat cause the dialogue's a chore to read. The speech balloons are Buckley-tier, which is a sin for webcomics in general, let alone comedic ones. That's not even mentioning the rampant spelling mistakes and run-on sentences.

The characters are pretty bland too. Don't get me wrong, the "Odd Couple" dynamic they have going on can work -- it's still used throughout media for a reason. But the execution is what separates good ones from bad ones and it falls flat here.

At the risk of piggybacking on >>84163833's comment yet again you should use some darker and less saturated colors cause the constant brightness of everything does tend to get really annoying.

The truth is that while it's not the worst thing I've ever read, you're never gonna pull in any readers above triple digits at this state. Maybe 10 or 15 years ago when the medium was just starting up and people would have either this or sprite comics to choose from, but not now.

Take a step back, work on the execution of your jokes. Work on your character poses and anatomy too to avoid the constant 3/4 perspective. Post some test comics here to see how people react to them, don't be afraid to show them to online friends either.

It can be salvaged. You just have a long, long way to go.

So, I noticed a thread about some comic con and it got me thinking that a lot of webcomic people go to cons.
I've never really understood what people do at conventions and why they go there.
Is it worth it to go as a creator even if you'd never want to go as a fan?
>>
>>84164714

There's really no reason to go as a creator unless you plan on buying a table, and actually selling stuff.

It can be fun, but not necessarily profitable.
>>
>>84164714
I've heard stories that it is not worth it if nobody knows your comic (obviously) and the majority of artists that tend to make any money at conventions are the ones who draw about 90% fanart.

Of course this is not fact, it's just things i've heard from con-goers.

It may be worth it if your goal is to bring your work to people's attention. But most con attendants who are interested in buying art or comics would rather spend money on IPs they are familiar with.
>>
>>84164791
Even if you're not selling anything you can make connections with other creators and perhaps even publishers. It's a good business decision to attend cons, if you want to make your webcomic into a business.

You go as a fan, without a table, but bring business cards along and you talk to people, give them your card, and make connections. I know for a fact at least one person in these threads has done it and would recommend.
>>
>>84164912

Well, to be fair, I originally interpreted his post as he doesn't really want to go, because he doesn't know what they're for.

Sure. Going as a creator and handing out cards and stuff is a good way of getting word out. Really, when you boil cons down, pretty much every one there is into the same shit, and probably willing to talk to you.

I've actually gone to cons as well, as a seller/creator, with a table. I even went with some friends.

We really didn't make shit, money-wise. And we handed out cards, links to our comics, and all sorts of free shit, and I could probably count on one hand the number of actual people from the con end up even coming to our sites and read our comics later on.

Really, the truth we found out about cons is that people really DO mostly only want to buy fanart, or buy shit based on characters they know.

People were interested in our own stuff, but most were just looking, and few were buying. We started to talk a little more with them, and the said that the art and presentation of everything was nice, but they weren't buying because "they aren't familiar with the characters." And we would explain that they weren't existing characters, but our own stories and characters. That was the first con (that I went to)

The second one I went to, we put up tons of fanart shit for sale, and did commissions, and sold a lot more.

Basically, its true that people don't really give much of a shit about your original works at a con. But they'll buy a good piece of artwork of an existing character they like.
>>
>>84164912
>connections with other creators
Why would this be useful from a business standpoint?
>>
>>84165334
Wow. Just wow.

Perhaps knowing people that can give you free exposure would be kind of useful. An example being this: Someone with a more successful comic than yours makes you fanart which sends people to your comic that may not have seen it otherwise.
Maybe they would have made the fanart regardless but I imagine people would feel more compelled to do that if they had spoken to you at some point, even if it was online.
>>
>>84165334
I hope you're only pretending to be retarded.
>>
>>84165330
IIRC the creator of that tentacle girl comic sold only original shit at a con and made good money, so maybe your work sucks or you went to the wrong convention.
>>
>>84165458
>Wow. Just wow.
That's not very nice, anon.

So you're saying "make connections with people whose audiences might overlap with yours because they might recommend you". I guess that makes sense. I don't really draw fan art myself and I usually don't care about the non-story art of the authors of comics I read, but it does seem like a common sentiment now that I think about it.

>>84165514
No? It just seemed strange. I've always seen the idea of making connections with other creators as being oriented towards improving your work's quality by getting feedback or advice from people with experience, rather than a direct money/popularity increasing thing.

Lookin real nice so far. Lots of action goin on. My only concern (and it may sound a bit nitpickey) is the sfx letters. They seem a bit stale and uniform. Try to experiment with their layout and how it can benifit the flow of your comic's narrative.

More shit about drawing in particular:
Do not get attached to any specific tool. Even if it serves you well for years be ready to abandon it at a moment's notice if you find a better way.

There is a time to get it right and there is a time to throw it out and start over- learn the difference.

Do not argue with critique. It is okay to disagree, but arguing is pointless and counter productive. You could spend that time drawing and thinking. Taking critique is fucking essential to your growth, too, so you just gotta suck it up. Btw, I got such a hard critique in a Batman thread a few years ago, I coildn't draw for months after- don't take shit that hard, it is a waste of time.

Disagreement means you quietly ignore it, rather than going "nuh-uh you're wrong I'm right".
The latter will only result in a waste of time, because this is the internet and you will never manage to change anyone's mind (for example, all the debates that crop up whenever someone mentions nudity or self-censorship).

>>
>>84168416
Disagreement is just believing something different than someone else does. Argument is any discussion or persuasion that may arise from a disagreement.

Disagreement doesn't require quietude, but it isn't defined by the decision to bring it up the way argument is.

It's easier to work towards a specific deadline. Knowing how much time you have and how much work you need to do in that time will solve all kinds of problems. You know how much dicking around is allowed and you won't fiddle with shit forever.

It's also easier to finish something than to start it. So thinking of your goals in smaller pieces helps. First write a kickass page. Then a kickass chapter. Then finish the story well. If you keep your goals small, you can spend a lot of time in that satisfying "home stretch" state of mind.

Beyond that, making a story that you actually give a shit about helps. Not in the sense that you need to be all precious about the details, but in the sense that you know what kind of story you're trying to tell. Basically if you have specific "problems" to work on. How do I scare people? Make them laugh? Depict a messy divorce? Whatever. Just showing stuff happening because it's what's next in the sequence is boring.

So Art Noob here, still trying to get some feedback for how i Organize and Develop my pages.

I want you to look at this page, (Now Its just a concept so go wild) and I would like to see if anything seems OFF.
I mean Anatomy, Perspective, Pose and etc.

I need as much practice as possible not just for the comic, but for any other project i will be doing in the future.
>>
>>84171137
i mean this thing isnt human but the upper arms are popeye-skinny in the first panel, and the proportions are totally inconsistent with the last panel. you gotta remember to let the shoulders move with the arms, right now they look like they aren't moving.
>>
>>84171137
Alrighty. First thing i notice in the first panel, the little bald character's left arm is a little awkward considering the pose be is in. His shoulder should be raised just a tad in order to make it more natural. You should also keep an eye on the floor. It looks a bit scew, wich makes it seem like the character is running up a slope. Also, >bonerarmor

Other than that, it'c coming out real nice. Good job anon.
>>
>>84171137
First panel takes up a lot of the page, but doesn't work well as an establishing shot. Doesn't give us a clear idea of the overall scene or what's going on.

The figure on the right breaks sequence. Are we supposed to "read" him as part of panel 1? After panel 3? Shit's ambiguous.

The big guy also hasn't been physically placed anywhere in the scene. Running dude could be imagining or remembering this guy, or the guy could be physically there. So far we have no visual cues.

Typically if something breaks panel it should be focal or dynamic or something important happening. It's not the worst thing in the world if it's not; just something to think about.

It's not entirely clear what running dude is doing in the last panel. Or really the page overall.

Your drawing is acceptable, if a little stiff. Best advice I can give is to keep learning and practice from observation. Find a figure drawing group and go regularly. Focus on gesture if you can.

But the big things you need to learn are composition, basic... I guess cinematography, pacing, paneling, that sort of thing.

Ok So Next time I got a check list.
1. Work on Cinematography, Pace and Panel Structure.
To 84 Anon, I see what you mean with Armor Guy breaking the sequence. The plan for the page was to actually establish what Baldy over there was running and speaking to.
2. Anatomy (Have been hitting the books and actually TRYING to read them i learnt a few new tricks) I need to improve on consistency with character size according to panel and action being done.
3. Just general positioning, now as a dewd tier artist. I need to improve every God Damn day.
Perspective needs a tweak, The weird thing is when i actually use perspective i don't know why it just seems strange...

Thanks for the input i'll put it to good use.

This Boner Armor seriously should i just remove that cloth flap.

nah boner armor is awesome and the cloth flap just calls attention to it.
if ladies are going to have big giant booby armor then it's only fair

The technical term is a "codpiece".

Lady knights wearing codpieces would be hilarious. But I don't know if it would be funnier with or without boobplate.

This should give you something to strive for, Anon.
In all honesty, I am GENUINELY impressed that we have so many talented anons here. As in, there are comics here that I enjoy more than comics which get regular threads on /co/.

No, have the knight display his codpiece proudly!

In an argument, you try to convince the person you are arguing against that your position is correct. I might disagree with some critique I get, but I NEVER argue against it

I'm a writer, not an artist, but I'm 26 and I've been writing (or trying to write, or working on my writing for) comics since I was 14. I didn't get serious about making it a major pursuit in life until 2014.

I'll never forget how the pain of failure made it all clear.

I didn't want to travel with my laptop that has the drawing program since it's 5-6 years old and I'm afraid it would die, BUT now I have the chance to catch with with a couple of book series I had started but wasn't never able to really put time aside for them

K6BD-guy used to post here when these threads started. Besides, most people here are hobbyists, I think.
Besides, "talent" was the wrong word to use sine I don't believe that's really a thing; but I do think we have many authors here who are quite skilled, being POPULAR is another issue...

iunno i think it's pretty clear talent exists. it's like skill except you didnt have to work hard to get it. Like how much money you have to spend at the beginning of oregon trail, it doesn't guarantee your success, but it can give you a boost if you lucked into more than someone else, and you have the responsibility to use it instead of just falling back on it

What size on paper is this drawing?
I really like all the small lines and details. If a drawing is too big my shaky hands can't make a circle or line, and if it's too small they can't go in the right place for the details. :(

Needs some horrible demon maws with people in 'em and also the insides of the maws are on fire and maybe the people are in a huge pot that's being stirred by demons.
Also everything should be on fire and there should be torturing gear everywhere like racks and wheels and shit.

Here's a buddhist depiction that mite b cool

Look up Hieronymus Bosch and Zdzisław Beksiński'.
>>
>>84174630
Thank you.

11X17 inch paper. Going for the comic standard.

If you're hand is too shakey, try drawing a bunch of circles ala kid from The Ring style to try and loosen up those drawing muscles. Also, try drawing with your arm, not your wrist.
